Even though I have been a customer for many years more than she's been an employee. She made sure to put me in 'my' place. Claimed what I wanted was not allowed by her manager. But when I asked to discuss with said manager "she only works in the morning ". When I requested the managers name an a number I could call during the morning, "Sorry but that is personal information and I can't share it". So, the managers name and store phone number are personal? "You can get the phone number online ". As I walked out without my order/my dinner I said that she might want to let her manager know that I would be posting a scathing yelp review. She smiled at me and yelled across the shop "Have a nice day!!". Then I posted my review and went to another poki place and purchased exactly what I had tried to order here. With no issues. Now I have a new regular dinner place. Too bad because I had to first remove my old 5 star review of this place and post this one in its place. Surprisingly pretty fresh fish but not comparable to island poke with marinades. For mainland poke it is edible and would eat it again but do I consider it authentic poke poke....nope! I've been here 30+ times probably over the years and I've NEVER had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and always greets you when you walk in. Fish is fresh, the toppings are all fresh. I love the miso too! This is basically my "old reliable" of poki, the portions are exactly right for the price I mean you just cannot go wrong. this restaurant used to have great service and now they do not. I always order a Poké bowl with three fish and have one on the side. The one on the side is given to my dog who is 16 years old. According to the young lady that me today and in the past, she asked her managers who only work in the mornings if she was allowed to separate out the fish out of the bowl and she was told . NO. So my 16-year-old dog is not allowed to have some of the sushi that I'm paying for at very expensive prices on a regular weekly basis now? I asked to speak to the manager. They said the manager doesn't work evenings only mornings I asked for a phone number and name and I was told I have to go to the website to locate the phone number and she would not give me the name because it was personal information the manager's name. I've been craving Hawaiian-style poke, so when I saw "Hawaiian, poke" in the restaurant heading I thought I'd found a new spot. I did find a new spot, but they don't do the pre-marinated, Hawaiian-style poke here. Here's what I did find: a nice little spot that was clean, inviting, had friendly staff, and had a couple of fish offerings i hadn't seen at any other place. I ordered the extra large bowl, choosing the standard salmon, tuna, and shrimp (can't go wrong with those!) and 2 new proteins to try: albacore & crab salad and salmon & crab salad. Both were dry (not moist/mushy like spicy tuna). I would order both again. They offered to drizzle poke sauce and sesame oil over it all, which I agreed to. The next step I'm a bit confused about. They have bottles of sauces and I'm not sure if they'd also drizzle those over your bowl if you ask or if they only give the the little condiment cups. I wanted to try new sauces, so I asked for a cup of wasabi cilantro and also one that had peanuts. When I sat down to eat my bowl, because I only had them drizzle the poke sauce and the sesame, the bowl was on the dry side. Adding the side sauces helped, but it still wasn't as saucy as the bowls I'm used to getting. What I realized when I finished the bowl was that I actually enjoyed it on the "drier" side. The fish didn't get lost "swimming" in sauce. (Pun *may* be intended) Overall, was it what I was expecting? No. BUT, I did enjoy the food. This poke place was A-Ok. Was planning on heading to downtown Tustin, but wanted to grab something quick and cool, as it's a very warm summer day, so decided on this poke place with good proximity. Parking here was a sinch as this is a very large center with very abundant parking. I got the medium poke bowl with tuna, salmon and spicy tuna and white rice as my base. It was quick to get the proteins and grain, but took a while for the toppings portion as the same individual who does the toppings is also checking out guests, so the bowl kinda just sits there until she's ready. I got my preferred toppings, spicy mayo and dynamite sauce, also grabbed a canned Diet Coke, as there are no fountain drinks here. There is a water cooler for lemon water though- just ask for a cup! As part of the order they asked you for your preferred utensils, and we got chopsticks. We sat down as there were still some tables available, but there was a lunch rush that came in after us (after 1pm on a Sunday), and tables became less plentiful inside. There were outside tables, but see previous statement about best. Overall, the poke bowl was as you'd expect it to be at these types of poke places. It was on a wonderful evening of "parents night out" that my daughter ironically found Poke Tiki. While mom and dad were out having fun, my daughter got hungry and wanted to order take out. This was the exact night she stumbled upon Poke Tiki, and the night that poke bowls became a staple takeout weekend dinner for our family. Needless to say, my daughter fell in love with Poke Tiki from her first bite. I'm not kidding when I say we eat this as a weekend family take-out meal very frequently. I love their poke bowls as well! Take out option is very easy to follow online. You choose your size, your base, protein and all the fillings. I usually get their kids size, which leaves me full and happy. Although you only get one protein choice, crab meat is one of their options for fillings which is good enough for me. I love that I feel full, but not overly stuffed. Their salmon is nice and fresh (my choice of protein), and they offer many other protein options as well (my daughter loves their scallops and octopus as well). I went at the last 10 minutes before closing and the lady working was so rude. She was not welcoming at all. Two stars might be generous. I'm decidedly not a fan. First of all, this place is pretty stingy with the "poke" in my opinion. They give you a lot of rice and whatever toppings you select but a relatively small amount of "poke." Also, the "poke" is not very good in my opinion. Among other things, it's not marinated. Good poke like the kind you can get at a grocery deli counter in Hawaii is always marinated. I will go so far as to say the "poke" at Poke Tiki isn't poke at all. It's just cubbed raw fish. The toppings are fine, but what you really want is poke - see above, though. Service wise, you order at the counter and tell the person what kind of fish you want, what toppings you want, and what sauce you want, etc. Hint: If the "poke" was marinated, there would be no need for sauce. It's frustrating because the Tustin location sets such a high standard -- the Irvine spot really needs to step up to match that level. Walked in here unplanned and talking about perfection. Parking: Ample parking! It's OC. Brick & mortar: Simple, functional, clean and everything was perfectly situated. Food: Ordered small bowl. Everything were fresh and you can see that they're fresh! I don't need to explain more cause this is the poke bowl that I missed since I moved to LA. Everything was available. The only thing that I wished they have but unnecessary to have is corn. They had the free cold water dispenser ready for all guests. My mom had enough rewards points for all 4 bowls and asked if we could use them all since most places only allow one reward to be used per purchase. Poke Tiki has let us use all of our points in the past, but we weren't sure if they would let us again since it took awhile last time and there was no quick way to apply points to multiple items. The man helping us checkout did let us use all our points and was very patient doing so even though he acknowledged that the system they are using is new and can be tricky. The food was good, the ladies serving are polite and friendly. Manager (or owner) has a terrible way of handling his customer's negative experience. I was enjoying my bowl but near the end I found a hair in the bite I was about to take. I took it to the counter and the ladies apologized, offered me a refund and took the bowl to the back. Shortly after a man came out and, very rudely, said he'd give me 50% refund because I'd "already eaten most of the food". He stated "you ate almost all the food and now you complain you found a hair". I don't control where in my meal that hair came up and I would much rather have found it at the top because knowing I ate while the hair was in my meal is nauseating! Not the best poke but there were some things that definitely shined. I got the three protein: Spicy Tuna, Tuna and Bay Scallops. Tuna was by far my favorite, Spicy Tuna second and no question that Bay Scallops were dead last. I would not recommend the Bay Scallops at all unless you're into weird texture and tasteless food. I usually don't get Bay Scallops and there's a reason why and these were especially off-putting. I did, however, enjoy the Seaweed Salad and Cucumbers. I could have probably just eaten the Tuna, Spicy Tuna, Seaweed Salad, and Cucumbers with the Brown Rice and been very happy but the fact that there were other ingredients that were less than par, was a little disappointing. Another thing I would think twice about getting is the Crunchy Onion. It was a little too overpowering and you still taste it in your mouth even after you have finished eating.
