Just got take out from Wow Bento. One word: WOW. Just FYI, I came at noon and I was glad I ordered online because the line is pretty long. It's goes by very fast though. It's a tiny little place in an office plaza, so don't think you're GPS is wrong. The poke is just amazing. I got a mild poke bowl with tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, crab meat, and smelt eggs for $8. Fish was so fresh and delicious. If raw fish ever smells "fishy" avoid it! It's not fresh! They only have a couple tables and during the lunch rush I wouldn't even try to get a table. And they aren't open on weekends so that's a bummer! 10/10 either way! read more

Always a great choice! I was so happy to see a poke place open up in Lake Forest! We now have "poke Friday" almost every week at work. Ordering via yelp is easy and helps beat the lunch time rush. There isn't much parking so we always order ahead of time and walk right up to the cashier. Same lady is always at the register and she's quick and efficient. read more

I was on the look out for a new lunch place not too far from the office and came across Wow Bento on Yelp. I finally got a chance to check this place out and I was not disappointed. My review is based solely on the poke bowl as that is the only thing I have tried so far. Poke bowls ($8) come with your choice of rice (white/brown), the basics (imitation crab, avocado, cucumbers, onions), 3 scoops of fish (a generous variety to choose from), toppings (green onions, masago, ginger, wasabi), and sauce (varying levels of spiciness). I enjoyed a poke bowl with white rice, salmon, tuna, octopus, crab meat, avocado, cucumbers, onions, green onions, masago, and ginger - it was quite delicious. The medium spiciness level was perfect - had a bit of a kick to it, but not overpowering. The place is absolutely tiny inside (just a few small tables) and is definitely more ideal for to-go orders. It's nestled in a business parking lot, but there is ample parking. Service is quick and friendly to get your bowl created and send you on your way. Overall, not a place to come with a crowd, but perfect for picking up a bite to take to-go. read more

what a hidden little gem this is. i actually just saw the name and went thinking i would have options for teriyaki and what not. turns out it's a small poke bowl spot. you get to choose bowl or nachos, 3 scoops of the main meat (salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, scallop etc) and then you get a scoop of avocado, crab meat, masago and some other stuff. staff was super friendly. looks like it's probably owned by a korean family. located in a work plaza, and honestly was a bit out of the way for me, but would definitely go back :) read more

Wow Bento is some of the best poke I've ever had! I visit it nearly every time I'm in Irvine. They have a great variety of toppings/fish and the service is always fast (although there is often a line, but never a bad wait). It's the kind of restaurant that's (pardon the pun) a fish out of water location-wise, it's in the middle of a business park and can be easy to miss. Look for the straw umbrellas and red "POKE" signs out front. Your GPS isn't lying to you. read more

Simple and delicious poke! Though this place is pretty far from where I live, I would come again and again until I find a better tasting poke spot. It's not mind blowing and authentic Hawaiian poke I had from the islands, but tasty none the less! Instead of traditional poke marinated with shoyu sauce, these are splashed with your spice level preference of grounded Korean red chili pepper and spicy mayo. The fish is fresh and doesn't smell, but it's not fresh fresh in the sense that I can taste the sweetness of the fish, a quality I wouldn't expect from the price value of this Korean establishment. Portions are not generous. They could have given a little more fish. The regular bowl with 3 scoops of toppings is filling for a light lunch, but I recommend getting a Monster Bowl if you're really hungry. Octopus and scallops are cooked (even though it looks raw). The scallops don't look fresh but defrosted. This poke place is located in Irvine / Lake Forest near where I work. The service was very quick & the inside of the store was super small. The business is hidden and in a small little corner. I wish the fish tasted a bit more fresh for the price of the bowls. There are much better poke options in the Costa Mesa area. Wow Bento. Great description, because that's what I felt after eating their bowl, wow. I work nearby the Irvine Spectrum and eat at very off-hours. This particular days' lunch was at 4 p.m., I wanted something satisfying yet light because I was planning to run around a rugby field for 2 hours. I've had Wow Bento when they first opened late 2014/early 2015, and was satisfied, but unless I'm at work this part of Irvine is out of the way. I saw that there was a new option to order online, and that worked perfectly for me. I ordered online, saw payment options, and didn't want to go through the bore of manually entering my credit card details, so I decided to just go in store and have them run my card for $8.64. In less than 20 minutes it was ready, so I got gas and headed over. I picked up my order, handed over my card, only to see I ended up getting charged $9.16 or similar. They didn't say anything and the person behind the counter even said the total was $8.64. I obviously assume it was a credit card fee, but I was not warned, and even if I had paid through the Yelp! order app Eat24, there would've been no fee, only $0.50, but I just left very confused. This was the only unsettling part about this visit. Now onto the food, I got brown rice with spicy tuna, albacore, and salmon, my typical top trio. The spicy tuna was just the right amount with perfect seasoning and spice, and the albacore and salmon were tender to the bite, quality fish for a poke bowl. The portions were more than generous, and I finished the bowl decently satisfied, but not feeling heavy. My only improvement would be for a better quality wasabi, then those that are typically found in packs at the market. I would come back out of convenience again due to proximity to my work, but this probably wouldn't be my first place to come for a poke bowl. It's not the traditional sushi joint but poke + bowls = The menu can seem confusing but it's really not. Check out one of the pictures of the menu another yelper posted. Small shop, family owned and VERY busy during lunch time. Highly recommend that you come here either before 11:30am or after 12:45pm to both avoid the crowds and be able to find a place to sit (minimal seating options). The fish quality is above average for a poke bowl place. There have been a couple of times that certain things tasted a bit "not as fresh as usual" but nothing to complain about. The only one I would recommend you pass on is the scallops. They are a bit chewy and never taste as good as the fish options. My only small complaint is that the portions can be inconsistent. I appreciate the bowl not being stuffed with rice but sometimes they are more generous with their scoops of fish. This is probably another reason you should show up before 11:30 or after 12:45. When it gets packed, they tend to speed up service and it may end up in a slightly smaller portion of fish for you :) read more

A little gem in the middle of a commercial area. It's a poke place chipotle style. My coworkers and I always come here or do take out for lunch...if you can eat a lot, I recommend getting the monster bowl. They don't really advertise it on their menu but it's available. You get 5 scoops of fish instead of 3. What I get: Step 1 - Half rice half salad Step 2 - everything w/ extra onions Step 3 - spicy tuna, albacore, salmon, octopus, and shrimp Step 4 - medium Step 5 - everything Foods great, prices are pretty good, you can order online and come in to pick up your order or they'll deliver within a 2 mile radius. The only downside? They are only open M-Th (they used to be open on Fridays...bummer) from 10-6 and 10-3 on Thursdays. read more

Came here for the first time a few days ago, and I can't really say I have any complaints! The service by all of the employees was on par, and they did a great job explaining how everything worked. I decided to eat my food inside the restaurant, and they even gave me a complimentary sample of their nachos! I definitely will have to try those in the future. The different fish meats all tasted fresh, and I really enjoyed the fact that I could customize the entire bowl to exactly how I wanted it. It's not the most AMAZEBALLS poke bowl I've ever tried, but it definitely is very very tasty. After eating it, I felt very clean and non-sluggish. For $8 per poke bowl, it's a pretty good deal for the amount of food you get (considering its poke)! I will be coming back! read more

Pretty good! The flavor is enjoyable but I felt like I got too little fish, and even for three small scoops, the scoops were extremely small. While I was eating it, had it not been for the amount of sauce they give you (which tastes great!), I would've been extremely disappointed with the lack of fish. I got more imitation crab in every bite than I did fish. I think I'll probably stick to Pokinometry when I'm craving poke bowls as they give you more fish for the same # scoops/price, but if I'm in the area, I definitely will come here. read more
