First time at this restaurant, we were traveling back from Bar harbor and wanted to stop in Portland. Wow India, was amazing the food was tasty and delicious, ordered gobi Manchurian dry and chicken 65 for starters. Gobi Manchurian was cooked to perfection but was a little tangy for my tastebud. My husband and daughter enjoyed chicken 65 medium spicy, they loved the taste and flavor 10/10. Meat was fresh and they enjoyed it. Yellow dal and rice was good the flavor was good. Butter naan and aloo gobi, butter naan was soft and fresh, the aloo gobi was good but I felt a bit heavy on turmeric. The ambience and the service were great The restrooms were kept clean and neat. Sorry for the shaky picture of Gobi Manchurian.

I was excited about this place for a while because a friend raved about the cook as the owner of a very well done Indian restaurant out in NH. Wow India has a very expansive menu. The interior decor is super lux and bar very large. On a Thursday night it was quite empty and the staff were attentive. The menu includes a solid array of Indian dishes north to south, and they have specialty fusion foods like pizzas and tacos with an Indian dish. Our group ordered several appetizers, a few curries, and a dosa. Everything here has a strong influence of Indian flavors, including their drink menu. The dosa, curries, Manchurian cauliflower, and onion samosa were top notch. I loved the mango curry. Desserts are an array of kulfi and halwa -- all super delicious!!

A MUST TRY! this is such a great spot, the inside is very pretty and the staff are lovely. the spinach onion pakora was delicious. i loved the warm spices and it went really well with the mint chutney. the chicken tikka naan pizza was such a treat! they gave a good amount of veggies and the sauce was so good to top it off. i highly recommend stopping in if you have the chance!

Unexpected gem for location. Our server was pleasant and well informed. Made great recommendations as the menu is quite large. We tried the paneer dosa, it was terrific. Companions tried the chicken kabab and the chicken dosa which they loved. The Malai Kofta was the best I've had and the Channa Masala was great. Ordered that mild and it still had a kick so be aware! Came with a generous portion of fragrant rice. I had the spiced old fashioned which was too sweet for my palate. I think that detracted from the spice part. Also, use Luxardo cherries, not maraschino! The place is clean, well designed and we will definitely return. 4 stars as someone lit incense towards the end of our meal and it was very strong. One of our party has asthma and we had to make a rapid exit. Otherwise food is a solid 4.5-5

The food was EXCELLENT. Full flavor, quality ingredients and the service was excellent. Though our party of 5 were all full, when asked about desert we couldn't resist because it all was so impressive. We will all be going back soon, and taking more people with us. The waiter was respectful, calm and attentive without hovering. The ambiance was nice, though when it's slower I'd suggest turning some music up a tiny to compensate for quietness. The chai was excellent and I'm hard to impress with that. The Chinese infusion fried rice was excellent. They accommodated our mushroom, shell fish AND tree nut allergies some people at our table had. The portions were very generous. The cheesecake? PHENOMENAL. The naan, delicious. Honestly, the only down side is I didn't get to try tacos for some reason tonight it wasn't an option. Looking forward to coming back many more times!

It was much cheaper than I was expecting. Staff was very kind and accommodating. They had me on my way quickly. Ambiance in the restaurant gives little hole in the wall spot, which I never mind. I got the paneer tikka masala and garlic naan, and DANG, was that flavor good. They do spice levels from one to ten- how cool is that?! I ordered online and it was ready within 15 minutes. As I waited, the place smelled amazing, was very clean, and had super service. The guy running it was so kind. He forgot my naan, and as I was walking home he called me, told me he forgot, then ran up the street to give it to me! That's above and beyond. The flavor is excellent. Spice is excellent. Serving sizes are generous. I can't believe it took me this long to check this place out. Stellar service, flavors, and menu. Can't wait to come back!

Miso soup was delicious and hearty - just what you need on a cold day outside. Both, noodles and fried rice were great. Btw their spice levels are catered to North American taste buds, so if you're an Asian just tell them highest spice levels and you'll probably still feel like moderate. Having said that, great flavours. The staff was nice and friendly. I used the restroom and they were clean and well maintained. Definitely recommended.

It is a tragedy that I was only planning to visit Portland for less than a day, so I didn't have the opportunity to dine in at the Green Elephant. However I would contemplate driving up from Boston just to have their Singapore noodles again. It was so flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture. The level 2 spice in the online ordering menu was not spicy at all, but the food still had a good amount of sauce and flavor. The dish was definitely heavy on the noodles and probably only had 4-5 bite-sized pieces of tofu for protein, but the noodles certainly were my favorite part. And for only about $15-20 per main dish, this is one of the more accessible/affordable restaurants for vegan options in Portland!

We were greeted by a polite gentleman and was told we can sit anywhere we want. He proceeded to give us menus. He gave us ample time to make our selection. We chose pani puri for appetizer then my husband opted for their masala dosa while I ordered the chicken korma. I love that they have two options for meal sizes, the 8 oz and 16 oz. I only had the 8 oz and I still had some leftovers. The pani puri was tasty though a bit different from the ones we've previously had. I had a bite of the masala dosa too and that was also delicious. The portions were not humongous which was appreciated. Prices were reasonable. In fact, the prices are favorable. There are plenty of dining space, the place is clean and staff is friendly. Food is good value for sure so I am positive we'll end up being regulars. If you love Indian food, I suggest you give Haveli a try!

Tucked away from the busy waterfront, it's well worth it for creative comfort food, generous portions and genuinely friendly service. The menu is packed: stuffed French toast, Eggs Benedict combinations, decadent waffles. The food is good, fresh and filling and the service is excellent. The flavors are rich without being overwhelming, and the ingredients taste fresh. It's the kind of place where narrowing your order down to one item is the hardest part. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and they give you crayons to color. The walls are absolutely full of cool artwork -- by kids and adults alike. We all did some drawing while waiting for the order and it was so very relaxing and enjoyable. Even when the restaurant is busy, the staff keeps things moving while remaining warm and attentive. Another standout is how accommodating they are for dietary restrictions. They have extensive vegetables and gluten-free offerings. And know it can get very busy. Arriving early or making a reservation, when possible, is a smart move.
