Bombay Mahal was the perfect stop on the way to Gardens Aglow to keep us warm on the inside! They have the most amazing saag paneer that I've ever had - the spinach was fresh and leafy and just tasted phenomenal. I also never knew I needed a blueberry lassi, but now I want one everywhere I go! The rosewater on top was *chef's kiss* perfection. The service was so warm and welcoming too. This is going to be a new stop whenever I'm up north for sure!

First visit while in town. I think this was honestly the best Indian food I have ever had! My sister and I had been wanting to go but the last time we tried it was a Wednesday and they were closed. I live in Florida these days so I don't get back home often. We shared the Gobi Pacora and I got the butter chicken. My sister got the Chicken Saag and we got some Nana. Really amazing flavors. The service was great and we had some leftovers for lunch the next day. Highly recommend and will be back.

Very nice food and charming waiter. Portions were small and costs were high but worth it if you want authentic Indian food

Miso soup was delicious and hearty - just what you need on a cold day outside. Both, noodles and fried rice were great. Btw their spice levels are catered to North American taste buds, so if you're an Asian just tell them highest spice levels and you'll probably still feel like moderate. Having said that, great flavours. The staff was nice and friendly. I used the restroom and they were clean and well maintained. Definitely recommended.

It is a tragedy that I was only planning to visit Portland for less than a day, so I didn't have the opportunity to dine in at the Green Elephant. However I would contemplate driving up from Boston just to have their Singapore noodles again. It was so flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture. The level 2 spice in the online ordering menu was not spicy at all, but the food still had a good amount of sauce and flavor. The dish was definitely heavy on the noodles and probably only had 4-5 bite-sized pieces of tofu for protein, but the noodles certainly were my favorite part. And for only about $15-20 per main dish, this is one of the more accessible/affordable restaurants for vegan options in Portland!

Tucked away from the busy waterfront, it's well worth it for creative comfort food, generous portions and genuinely friendly service. The menu is packed: stuffed French toast, Eggs Benedict combinations, decadent waffles. The food is good, fresh and filling and the service is excellent. The flavors are rich without being overwhelming, and the ingredients taste fresh. It's the kind of place where narrowing your order down to one item is the hardest part. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and they give you crayons to color. The walls are absolutely full of cool artwork -- by kids and adults alike. We all did some drawing while waiting for the order and it was so very relaxing and enjoyable. Even when the restaurant is busy, the staff keeps things moving while remaining warm and attentive. Another standout is how accommodating they are for dietary restrictions. They have extensive vegetables and gluten-free offerings. And know it can get very busy. Arriving early or making a reservation, when possible, is a smart move.

The restaurant has a well worn but clean feel. The prices were fair for what you get. We were there only people dining in. They had multiple phone calls for pick up on our visit so we waited on our food just a little bit. The papadaum came with three dipping sauces. My favorite was the mint green sauce. The server mentioned it was homemade. The onion chutney was also quite good. It has a nice spicy flavor. The third sauce, a tamarind, was sweet. After that came the vegetable samosas. They were slightly spicy and flavorful. I was spreading that green sauce all over it. The mutter paneer, ordered spicy, was FANTASTIC!!!!! A nice sized portion that came with perfectly cooked rice. I loved this dish. It had a lot of paneer in it. We also ordered the garlic naan. It was so good. I am glad the naan wasn't greasy. If I lived in the area I would be a regular at this restaurant.

My daughter got the paneer dish with spinach and she loved it. We ended up with leftovers too! Will certainly be back.
