After we were referred here by our bartender at the hotel we were staying at we stopped in for breakfast. Our server was extremely knowledgeable with the menu and what was what when it came to allergies. We received our meals in a timely fashion and was greeted with the most delicious meals. The red potato home fries were perfectly seasoned. We loved the wall art.

Table for 1 Whenever I am in Portland early enough and have time, I stop in at sinful kitchen. You always know what you're gonna get here and it's always on the awesome side of fantastic. You can tell when a place really cleans their grill when you get items that are cooked on their flat top. Especially bread, it'll absorb old grease flavors. Which is never a thing here. The restaurant is always inviting and clean and few places, parallel their staff. If you haven't made the trip to simple kitchen, do yourself a favor and make some time. Oh, and right now, they have some beautiful local art on the walls, I left here at the piece myself.

Came to Portland for a day trip and blown away! By bestie girl friend that I'm doing the day trip is gluten free and they can make anything GF!! Her and her bf found this place a couple of years ago and when we were looking for a place to get brunch on our day this seemed like the perfect place! Absolutely love the vibes and the crayons on the tables! Butcher paper to doodle and play games on was so fun. Service was great and quick! I will say that I recommend making a reservation ahead of time- they fill up quick!!! Best home fries ever and tried huevos rancheros for the first time YUM!! Will be back on my next trip to Portland!

Despite driving by many times my wife and I finally visited Sinful Kitchen. Despite some reviews mentioning reservations being a good idea I decided we would gamble and go without one. Thankfully we lucked out showing up about 15-20 minutes after open and got a table. I would say reservations is a solid idea and that we got lucky. They have roughly 12 tables and 6 bar stools so space is on the limited side and plenty of people show up right at open. They have a lot of breakfast classics you'd expect for a breakfast spot, omelets, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, eggs Benedict, and some more unique offerings as well. Some of those would be the waffle pizzas, ghost pepper sausage, and some dishes with pulled pork. Plenty of options everyone in your party will find something. Besides their usual menu they also have specials including unique cocktails/mimosas and different fillings for their stuffed French toast. My wife got the Corned Beef Hash and I got the Stuffed French Toast and chose the Chocolate Peanut Butter filling. My wife loved the corned beef and thought it was prepared perfectly, a new favorite spot for it. I enjoyed the stuffed French toast but make sure you got a sweet tooth and empty stomach cause wow....sweetness and portion overload! I thought prices were reasonable and service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a breakfast/brunch spot worth checking out! Next time I look forward to trying a specialty mimosa and more of their food options!

This was a cute little breakfast brunch restaurant. It was nice & warm inside. We had been working so much we only had breakfast at the hotel so this was a little treat. The hostess Saturday us quickly & our server was right over, the fishes arrived pretty quick. I had the special goat cheese omelet & my husband had the steak & cheese. Both were delicious & we would try again.

A rainy and blustery day meant we needed a cozy breakfast and The Sinful Kitchen was just the ticket! The Sinful Kitchen is an amazing spot for breakfast and brunch! It can be really busy, but it's worth the wait. The staff was busy, but took really great care of us. The space is nice and open with lots of fun artwork on the walls which is done by patrons, much of it shows real talent! Our breakfasts were really hearty and tasty. I enjoyed a meat lovers pizza (scrambled eggs with plenty of meat and cheese atop a fluffy waffle). My partner really liked her Monte Cristo too! This is a super spot!

Great Bloody Mary's, Excellent Brunch options, anything can be made gf, knowledgable about food allergies and super friendly staff. Reservations absolutely recommended. I had GF Huevos Rancheros and if I had to say anything bad, it would be that I needed a sharper knife to cut the tortillas. My husband got the Maine Crab Benedict, delicious and not stingy on the crab. Good vibe, hoppin.

What a great find! We were looking for a spot not far off I-95 and found this place with great reviews just over a mile away. We were greeted promptly with a smile by the hostess. It was noon on a Saturday and pretty busy, so we sat at the bar rather than waiting for a table. Our waitress was also very personable and prompt. Coffee was fresh and hot. We occupied ourselves during the wait looking at all the customer artwork that decorates the walls. I got the daily stuffed French toast option of blackberry pineapple. It was HUGE and delicious! The fruit/cream cheese stuffing and whipped cream topping were perfectly sweet, so I didn't even need syrup (which was real Maine maple). The home fries were nice chunks of seasoned potato-not the tasteless, dry little deep-fried nuggets a lot of restaurants serve. My husband said his Monte Cristo was good, but after seeing someone's eggs Bennie come out he wished he'd gotten them instead. The restaurant was clean, food was hot and tasty, and the staff welcoming. We will definitely go back!

Went out for brunch on a nice Tuesday morning, wanted to change things up a bit so decided to try out Sinful Kitchen. I've gotta say I have no idea what the hype is about! I ordered the huevos rancheros with shaved steak, while certainly not in the "bad" category, it was pretty much the most plain, unseasoned huevos rancheros I've ever had. The flour tortilla had the most taste in the dish. Not a single hint of flavor. The shaved steak was also tasteless. It's not bad, but for $20? Absolutely not. The home fries were good, but only because they were saturated in butter and seasoned with salt (like the tortilla). My friend ordered the fried hash & a side of home fries - on the menu it didn't say it came with them, but they do - it makes up 60% of the menu item, conveniently located underneath the small portion of hash. Menu prices did not match billing prices. The only thing that was truly awful was the bloodies - they put cocktail sauce in their mix. Truly foul. The slice of ghost pepper sausage was really good though, but did not help the cocktail sauce burps for the next hour or two of indigestion. The service was fine although nothing to write home about, it was packed pretty much the entire time we were there & no complaints on how quickly anything came. It was run like a well oiled machine. From the outside you can't really tell what this establishment is, it's very hectic looking with all the painting. The interior isn't all that different, looks like it hasn't had an updo in forever, uncomfortable seats (the two person tops are absolutely TINY & make for a very cramped, uncomfortable meal) & it's fairly lackluster for the amount of hype this place gets.

    Jeff D.

The service was friendly and very helpful. This is definitely a small place with only 11 tables, get here early or call ahead. I ordered the hash and eggs as well as the waffle. The hash was very salty and the potatoes seemed like the star of the show. The eggs were good and the waffle a perfect malty flavor. For one person I had the hash and eggs, waffle and ice coffee. My bill was 30.51.

Fantastic. Stopped by for breakfast while in town. So glad we did. The place is small, but we were lucky and walked right into an open table. Open space, diner feel. Egg white scramble with turkey sausage, potatoes, and sourdough toast. Everything cooked to perfection. The food came out quickly and the wait staff friendly.

We tried The Sinful Kitchen based on reviews. They have an amazing variety of offerings for people with a variety of dietary needs (no gluten, vegetarian, etc.). They are located in a building with a mural welcoming you to Portland...and plenty of cars parked around it. They do a brisk business! We were seated promptly and our drink order taken. After a few minutes, our server came back to take our food order. My partner got the Maine crab Friends with Benedicts, and I ordered the GF Cinnamon Roll Belgian waffles and chose jackfruit for my meat. Both items also came with crispy home fries. It's a lot of food, and it's good. I appreciate The Sinful Kitchen having an open kitchen and separate GF prep. It's a great breakfast-brunch spot.

Cool Walmart that someone drew from the table.
    Robin L.

Visiting from out if town. We found a local fun, funky cafe for brunch. The tables had brown butcher paper on them and people would draw with crayons and then they put it on the walls. The food was fabulous.

    Do you need a reservation?

Based on my experience and observations, yes. Even if you have a party of two and show up at opening, there is a chance you might not get seated or may have to wait a long time. To avoid disappointment, I would recommend you make a reservation.

We went inside and I got their Cozy Latte which was cinnamon and cardamom latte while my wife got their Flower Power which is lavender and honey. Both were quite tasty and well made. Besides their seasonal drinks they appeared to have all the typically drinks you'd expect. To go along with our drinks I grabbed a chocolate croissant and my wife got a piece of their rosemary kale & pepper quiche. Both of these were tasty bites but do wish they would have been warmed up. Not sure if this would have been an option as they did not ask if we wanted them warm. Only real knock against the food was that. Good variety overall of food options. And I am weak for anything rhubarb, so the generous amount of rhubarb in the scone really did the trick. The rhubarb hibiscus pie has quite a bit of that botanical hibiscus flavor but I liked it! It might not be for everyone, though. Their coffee is also really good, and a perfect accompaniment to their excellent pastries. I also have to give props to their staff and how friendly and welcoming everyone was despite being totally slammed at all times. I know if I was working at a place as busy as Tandem I'd be way more frazzled than they came off. We got there right at opening on a weekday and there was already a long line to enter, but the staff moves everyone through quickly.
