Great diner. Spent the nite in Pinedale WY on our way to Yellowstone. Noticed the parking lot was packed on our way to motel. When we went in for supper we knew why. Very good home style food. I had an open faced hamburger with mashed potatoes and gravey with corn. Very well done and nothing out of a can - well maybe the corn but isn't most of it? Just moved here and stopped for dinner one night, and came back for breakfast the next morning. Got the nachos for dinner- pretty good! Smothered in cheese, could've used some lettuce or something on top. For breakfast had a blueberry pancake- it was massive but very tasty! With butter and syrup and side of bacon. e have been traveling cross country and have had wonderful service, met wonderful people. Not here! First and foremost, the waitress was extremely rude. She snapped when my brother asked if breakfast was being served. Though it was, she snapped and acted as though couldn't be bothered. We heard her tell the hostess not to let anyone else in. Then there was the food. I did receive a glass of red wine which quite honestly Boones Farm would've been a tremendous upgrade. I had the Reuben and somehow they made the sauerkraut totally tasteless. I mean sauerkraut. While travelling we saw the Wrangler Cafe, plenty of cars in parking lot, so we figured it must be good for breakfast. We walk in, sit down, after about 7 mins a busboy finally hands us menus. At least another 5 mins. went by before a server approached us. Took our drink order, by then we had made up our mind what we wanted, since it was almost 10a, I asked could I get lunch, was told could order anything on menu. Hubby orders biscuits & gravy, I order a french dip. A couple walks in after we order, they get waited on fairly quickly. They eat and are out of there before we have our food. A table of 2 guys came in a few mins after the couple, sits behind us, they eat and leave before we have our food. A few mins after the 2 guys sit down, another table is seated, eats and leaves BEFORE we have or food. We are starting to get agitated, but don't want to make a scene. 45 mins. later we finally corner server and ask WTH, he states our food coming up. Another 5-7 mins goes by, he finally brings our food, and my husband's plate was WRONG, nothing close to what he ordered. Waiter states he grabbed wrong plate, be right back with right one, and yet it still took him over 5 mins to get my husband's food, and guess what?!? It was STILL wrong. At that point he said I'll eat it, don't want to wait longer. I do have to say, the meat in the french dip was tender. I will never stop here again if in the area. We were there 75-90 mins, just to get served the wrong food. read more

Real home cooking here. Hand made burger patties, and French fries made fresh. Their mashed potatoes are made by hand, with chunks of potato in them. The roasted turkey are hand sliced. They have cherry, Apple, and rhubarb pies, all home made. Generous portions too. read more

Really gone down hill lately. Service is horrible. I suspect it's not the fault of the service staff as they try hard . Seems to be very poorly managed with not enough staff. Most of the time they are out of deserts. Not a big deal unless you brag about your pies which they do. Food is decent but costs too much for the quality and quantity you receive. This place is overpriced, understaffed, and underwhelming. To call the food mediocre would be too generous. I ordered tacos which per the menu should have been in a hard shell; they were out of hard shells but offered soft shells instead. Ok, no problem. When they come to the table they are swimming in grease... So much so that the shells are orange and falling apart. To top it off the toppings are salad mix from the salad bar. The meat was burnt, almost too salty to eat, and super inundated with grease. Others in my company got burgers which were pretty mediocre. Apparently Pinedale has pretty limited options, but STEER CLEAR of this place. $80 for onion rings, 3 tacos, two burgers and fries, and one pork chop meal. Best burger we've had in fifteen days on the road. The salad bar was good, but you got to remember you're in Wyoming and the veggies aren't gonna be as good as Florida. Great service & good homemade cooking. The breakfast my son had looked amazing and my daughter and I split the wrangler burger(that was plenty) and each got a salad. My boyfriend and I were on our way home back to Chicago while craving a real breakfast, when we stumbled upon the Wrangler Cafe. Casual setting, quiet inside- not your average loud morning cafe. Totally appreciated. We were waited on right away, then became excited once we opened up the menu. The staff were attentive, ultra polite, and the food was deelish! I had a corned beef brisket and hash skillet (no canned corned beef here), and my boyfriend had their ribeye steak skillet with a side of tasty, crispy bacon. The menu has several good options, prices averaged a bit over $10pp. Our server was absolutely lovely. My only negative was for the "kids's plates". I am going to say the food is great. But don't get blindsided by the cost. I went in for breakfast and I ordered a side of hash browns. That little side plate was $4.99. My single breakfast cost wast 20.00. The plate I ordered was only 10. So a side of toast a side of hash browns and coffee was as much as my breakfast plate I ordered. My fiance and I have been here 3 times in the last month while on business. (its a very small town and only a few restaurants) The first couple times it was just fine. The waitress was a bit scattered as the last comment said but shes nice! We went there again tonight and the waiter barely spoke a word of English. He couldn't understand what we were talking about... he though the black berry pie was blueberry pie and definitely did not understand how to give separate checks. It was just alot of annoyance tonight. I don't understand why they hire people like that. Anyways you cant go wrong with the Wrangler burger! Its homemade and its great! Dont get the regular bugers mixed up with the wrangler burger though. They are completely different! The wrangler burger is yummy and homemade. We stopped here for lunch while on the Road from Jackson. The staff was friendly as were the locals. It was a very good burger and fries at a reasonable price( about $20 for 2 people) Not sure about the other item on the menu but I say it was a damn good burger. The place was a bit dated but it's about 1,000 miles from nowhere so.... overall I would recommend eating here. read more

The menu is surprisingly pricey, but we had the Wrangler Burger and the small size serving of chicken fried steak dinner (included 4 oz serving of meat, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies and a trip to the salad bar) and both meals were in the $10 range and generous. We have been on a coconut cream pie kick on this road trip and had a piece here. It was some of the best we've had. Turns out a local lady comes in twice a week and bakes pies for the restaurant and today was pie day, so it was fresh. Very good. All in all, a decent and pleasant meal. read more

Based on other reviews we thought this would be a nice home-style restaurant. The atmosphere was strange, everyone talked in hushed whispers, like they weren't really comfortable. The food was a big disappointment. My husband ordered the spicy fried chicken salad, didn't get any dressing so went to the small salad bar to get dressing (which he later said tasted off, like it had been left out too long) the salad had browned edge lettuce leaves which he picked out and showed to the waitress. She acted like "oh, well, sorry about that", so he asked to talk to the manager. The manager tried to get in our face when we asked if he would eat a salad like that and we thought some discount was appropriate. We got $5 off a $9 salad. Over all this was a big disappointment and there are other nice restaurants in town to eat at. read more
