okay! This is THE shop for your auto needs period. Dan is the man! Back story: Recall on my 2016 Ford Focus brought it into the dealer last Tuesday. They gave me a laundry list of things to fix to a grand total of $1900. Ouch. Spoke with some family members and got this place referred to me as "An honest mechanic that will likely be half the price as the dealership." I came today and had my car fixed for a 1/3 of the dealer charges. Of course, we didn't do the entire list they provided (tires, wiper blades) but we did pretty much everything else. I was floored as to how quiet my car should have sounded!! (It was quiet a rough idle before I came, but now it's humming!) Would recommend and will be back! Called Dan for symptoms suspecting a bad clutch throw out bearing making a squealing noise. Turns out the bearing was loose making the car shudder/shake when engaging to 1st gear. Clutch was on its original 145,000 miles so it was due for a new one. New clutch assembly and shudder/squealing is completely gone. Car feels amazing!! Thanks Dan! read more

I have been taking my German cars to Wrench Monkeys at 7500 14 Ave. for several years. His work has been good in the past, since the repairs are covered in a "flat rate manual" which suggests how long the repair wiil take. Typically those hours can be bettered by the mechanic. Here, you are charged for those hours even when it is done in less time. Fair enough as reward for being a good mechanic. The problem for me has appeared because the owner likes the "gravy jobs" that he makes money on. The PROBLEM is recently I have called to schedule a problem with an oil drip onto the exhaust pipe. It only takes one drip a minute to contaminate the interior making a serious stink. I have called 4 times to get scheduled and my calls are not returned. The 4th time I left a message saying, "call me if you just don't want to do the work" It has become obvious that this is not a "gravy job", in a flat rate manual. This comes across as really poor business since it is obvious he can't be bothered with the job. As a long time customer, I have really become soured on the pick and choose attitude being displayed. A little honest communication would go a long ways. I just cannot recommend going to a mechanic that treats a customer that way! read more

If you have a miata then Dans your man. Dan has been working on my miata for years. He always goes out of his way to make things work even when if it mean working on my car on the weekend. The thing i like most about him is his honest and chill demeanor. He doesn't try to upsell anything and his labor prices are usually lower than competitors. My last visit, i replaced my front rotors but one of my pads needed replacing as well. He put in a used pad he had lying around to hold me over and did not charge me for it. Who does that nowadays? Other places would have said you need new pads and we are keeping your car until you buy them from us. He races as a hobby and will flat out tell you if something will make your car faster or is just gimmick. He has tons of miata knowledge and its fun picking his brain. He also doesn't recommend the most expensive parts just because everyone is using it. A good guy, timely service, reasonable prices, what more can you ask for for a mechanic? 5 stars. read more
