All the locals told me I HAD to try Wrights bbq... and they were right ;) a true no frills bbq joint- counter service with a couple small tables inside and a decent sized outdoor patio. I got a to-go order of lean brisket with green beans and mashed potatoes. The cook of the meat was perfect, the star was the "bold" bbq sauce (vinegar based) which I loved. I didn't try the other sauce options. The sides were also good, the green beans were slightly sweet (?) but still very tasty and the mashed potatoes were buttery and garlicky. Go Early! Brisket will sell out before 7pm. Simple menu items with great BBQ flavor. Brisket is a must have and you can ask for more fatty pieces which I didn't know was a thing. Also tried the sausages and the cheese ones in my opinion had less flavor but were still good. Best 2 sides on the menu collared greens, Mac & Cheese! Service is fast we came with a softbal team and got out quick. It's in an old house which is a nostalgic vibe like at your aunties bbq. There's lots of outdoor seating. Don't know if I'll ever be back in AK but I will stop again if I'm ever in town. read more

The Brisket was Fabulous, my husband isn't crazy about ribs with sauce already on them but I thought they were good, potato salad was good, coleslaw didn't have much of a flavor, husband didn't care for the beans. I found this place on Yelp when we were driving to Gulf Shore AL. Being from the Kansas City area our BBQ bar is set very high. We arrived at noon and the parking lot was full and there was a line. But it moved quickly. This is not a fancy sit down restaurant but that wasn't important to us. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac n cheese and my husband got the pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans. My brisket sandwich was the best I've ever eaten. The pulled pork was delicious as well as both sides. We were already looking forward to stopping on our way home but found out that they will be closed. read more

Nice place very close to my favorite hotel in region. Cool vibe with outdoor sitting and inside if the weather isn't nice. Had the 2 meat platter with ribs and brisket. Ribs surpassed the brisket in my opinion as the brisket was too dry for my taste and required sauce. Ribs were moist but not dripping in sauce so it's to my liking. 3 sauces with the bold my favorite of the trio. Beans on the saucy sweet side and mashed potatoes solid. Next time I'll get the green beans and burnt ends as they both looked good at other tables. read more

Definitely lives up to the reputation. We went in at 3:30, no line, and ordered brisket and ribs. Deviled egg potato salad and collard greens. I think both of us were a little shocked with how good everything was. I am not typically a fan of collard greens, but after reading all the reviews, decided to try it. I'm so glad I did. The ribs were perfectly prepared, smoky, juicy, fall off the bone... and the brisket.... wow. Perfectly cooked (they offer lean and fatty, I opted for the latter) with an incredible bark/crust around the edge, and so tender I cut it with a plastic fork. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Yes, it is a little pricy, but I just had BBQ at a new place in town. It was just as expensive and nowhere near the quality. read more

If you like BBQ, Wright's is it. In my opinion, Wright's is the only BBQ worth eating in NWA. The highlights include: - BRISKET - get "the fatty". Just do it. Other than the best BBQ joint in TX, this is the best brisket I've ever had. - Bacon Burnt Ends - worth arriving early!! They sell out fast because they are little nuggets of warm bacon - half bacon, half fat, one AMAZING morsel that you can't find anywhere else. Even Kansas City doesn't have burnt ends this good. - Rocket Man - mashed potatoes topped with brisket, burnt ends, cheese, BBQ and anything else you want. It's a whirlpool of delicious! Other food includes: sausage, chicken, pork, green beans (standard southern green beans, juice and all), baked beans, Mac and cheese (supposedly the best Mac and cheese in the state of Arkansas - honestly it's just ok, kind of soupy when I'm more of a southern "baked" Mac and cheese person myself...still worth ordering & good with some BBQ sauce drizzled on top), turkey (seasonal, delicious), and recently much more!! (Like chicken wings, brisket burgers, chili, prime rib, nachos, the list goes on...) Their building is an old White House that they've converted into a restaurant (so watch your step, because it has charm head to toe) and recently they added on to! They smoke all the meats daily our back so definitely a dedicated team. Seating indoors is limited, but they just added a patio which is wonderful on a sunny day or you can dine out in "the yard" and watch a Hogs game with a beer. Don't go for BBQ anywhere else!! While a little pricey, it is worth it and you will NOT leave hungry! They have also opened up a 2nd location in Bentonville which they run food up to each day. read more

We were in town and decided to check out Arkansas BBQ. This came up near where we were staying so we decided to check it out. They only had the drive through open, which I must say is not the best organized for drivers. We missed the turn in on the way in, so we turned around and realized when we go to the "entrance" it was really the exit. Signs should be bigger to easily notice from the highway. The other bizarre thing is that the way you enter, you have to cross paths with those exiting. It's almost as if they should flip the entrance and the exits. Overall, it does work out fine, but I can easily see where things could be better. Moving on to the food and what we ordered: Meats: *Pork - This was okay. Not near the best that I've had, but it was still okay. *Ribs - very good *Bacon Burnt Ends - the best! Absolutely amazing, wish we had more. *Sausage - We actually ordered the jalapeno cheddar version, but it was clear when we were eating we were given the wrong kind. It was still flavorful, but very chewy. Sides: Need help, but at least they are good with the meats. *Side salad - simple, but enjoyable. *Potato Salad - just okay to me. I prefer a strong mustard based potato salad. *Mac and cheese - Mac and cheese is my favorite side item, so we ordered two. Unfortunately this was a big fail. One of the reviews mentioned it was like boxed velveeta mac and cheese..yep, that's pretty much what it is...one of those boxed mac dinners where you squeeze the cheese on top. It was not good, flavorless. Overall, enjoyable BBQ that I would go back for, but I would definitely focus on the burnt ends. EDIT TO ADD: I'm sorry the owner did not like my review, but I thought some of the food was great and some was not good, regardless of a pandemic. Simple changes could make flow and service better. I don't ever leave reviews, but I was extremely disappointed in my online order. We had 4 plates with 6 different meats & 4 different sides. Pros - Ribs were good, jalapeno sausage was good, mac & cheese was okay. Cons - brisket & pork was bland. Turkey was dry, potato salad was also bland, collard greens were much too bitter (don't come for me, I know what collards are supposed to taste like). However the worst thing we received was the Bacon burnt ends. They were hard as a rock and uneatable. **Again, I never feel moved to make a negative review, and I have had plenty of good experiences at this establishment. However, this time has left me very disappointed and sceptical about coming here again (maybe I order just ribs if I do). read more

Great barbecue and good prices with big portions! I think this location is the largest and nicest. Big porch and covered area for outdoor seating and then 2 room indoor seating. They have a handwritten menu on the wall with sandwiches, platters, sides. Brisket and ribs seem to be the most popular. I have had the loaded baked potato before and ribs and the Woo Pig sandwich with pork and sausage topped with slaw on my last visit. All were large and delicious. My husband has had the loaded mashed potato platter and Mac and cheese which were good but heavy. I love that they have a big kid and little kid menu for a cheap price too. They have quite a few sauces avail including a mustard based and Alambama white! Lots of free toppings you can add but be sure to ask b/c they won't. My husband found this out when we were new to the restaurant and his potatoes arrive plain with just meat and cheese so he had to go back in line. I would definitely go back and recommend!
