Never received the deed to my house because they never gave the escrow company my mailing address -…read morebut used theirs instead! Since my address was never on file, I had to pay late fees on my property taxes. After several calls to the office to get the deed - a year later, I have yet to receive it nor do they return my calls. They were very unprofessional. The escrow company blames them & visa versa. I still don't know to whom I am to pay the "other JCS taxes" to that they said I had to pay separate from the property taxes. Once they have been paid don't expect them to do ANYTHING else, even if it is their job.

Linda truly is the best real estate agent I have ever met. From the moment I met her I knew she would help us find our perfect home no matter how long it took. My husband called her and told her our situation and what kind of home we were looking for. Upon meeting her face to face, she provided us with at least 5 rational homes that fit our description. Never once did I feel rushed or like I was bothering her. She always answered my questions with a smile and so much kindness. I loved the fact that she would remember the smallest details about my likes and dislikes. She was an amazing advocate for us and would always make sure that we were taken care of. If you are ever in need to someone to help you find the perfect home Linda is the lady for the job. Honestly I could go on and on about how wonderful she is but I would run out of room. Believe me you will not regret meeting her one bit.

Amazing!! Terese was the best agent that I could have asked for to help me purchase my first home…read more She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and unbelievably responsive. I live a considerable ways away from Wrightwood, but Terese was available to accommodate my schedule throughout the home buying process. Even while she was dealing with family health issues, she made it clear to all parties involved that she would still be available if needed. I bought my rural home in the height of the exodus of people from urban to more remote areas. In this competitive environment, Terese's well crafted purchase offers helped to get my offer get accepted by two sellers. The first offer fell through because of seller hardship, but Terese's second offer submission was so thoughtful and well written; between the submitted offer and the generosity of the kind seller, I was able to get some closing cost assistance. Whether you're a seller or buyer, Terese's desire to create a win win situation will be recognized by all parties involved. I would recommend Terese to anyone, in any situation, looking to buy a home in the Wrightwood area. In addition to being a true professional, she is so open and caring. Terese genuinely cares about her clients. I'm SO grateful to have met her and to have her as a trusted friend in this new town.

For some reason, come Thursday, she didn't return my calls. Well, I was left with nothing but a paid for motel; so, I started calling. To my good fortune, Terese was the first human that answered the phone. She couldn't have been more helpful. She arranged showings of the houses that I had seen online and some I hadn't. But there always seemed to be something that didn't show in the pictures. Therese happily rode from Wrightwood to Pine Mountain club with two dogs and wanted to show me a house I hadn't seen online because it was over my absolute limit. It checked all my boxes. Terese suggested an offer about half way to my limit and I couldn't resist. Working with her only got better through the process of buying the place. Everyone she used or referred me to was first rate. She told me what I needed, where to sign, and what it meant. She guided me, a complete neophyte, through the whole process as well as I can imagine. I could not have been more satisfied.

On the wildlife issue: Whether it was rodent or bat droppings isn't the point -- either way, it's a health and safety hazard, and that's what my review addressed. On timing, we were told cleaning was signed off around 3:40-3:50 PM and we weren't given access to the unit until nearly 4:00 PM. By the host's own timeline, that leaves only a 10-20 minute window for this to have happened after cleaning -- or the unit wasn't properly cleaned to begin with. Either way, it should have been caught before a family with small children moved in. As for the house rules disclosing general wildlife possibility in Big Bear: a blanket disclosure doesn't excuse an active, uncleaned health hazard in the room our kids were about to sleep in. On "solution after solution": When we first called the property's staff, we were told there was no reported active issue at the unit -- no remediation or transfer was offered at that point. It was only after we contacted Airbnb support directly that a possible move to another property came up, and by then we chose to stay with family instead rather than lose more time getting our kids settled. To be clear, we never requested compensation, a discount, or anything beyond the refund for the booking we could no longer stay at and the playpen deposit. The mention of a future discount, and later a free stay at the owner's personal cabin, were both raised unprompted by her staff and the owner -- I only followed up to ask about the discount after her team had already brought it up, and we ultimately declined the cabin offer. On the Venmo/deposit point: This wasn't in my original review because it wasn't relevant to it; the owner raised it. For accuracy: we received both the Airbnb refund and the playpen deposit refund in full. The mismatch was in urgency -- the deposit was requested and paid promptly to get our kids settled, but getting it returned took three follow-up messages over a full day before it was processed that night. On the unannounced visit: While I was upstairs on the phone with Airbnb support trying to resolve this, the host sent an unfamiliar man to the property without confirming who was there or where. My wife and our two young children were downstairs. Regardless of exact positioning, having a stranger show up unannounced during an active safety complaint is not okay. On the personal outreach: We heard nothing from the owner personally until after this review was posted. At that point, she called, left a lengthy voicemail, and sent numerous long texts to my personal phone. Some of what was shared in that contact was inappropriate and unrelated to the situation, and I won't detail it here out of respect for her privacy -- but the manner and timing of it were unprofessional. Our original review reflected an accurate, factual account of what happened. We stand by it and won't be engaging further in the comments.

We were a few days away from closing escrow on a house in Big Bear when we started looking for property management companies. Based on the 100% positive yelp reviews and great initial conversation with Miguel, we decided to go with CA Mountain Rentals to help us manage the property. Immediately paid off. The day after we signed paperwork with him (which was also the day we were to transfer the funds and close escrow on the house), Miguel decided he wanted to stop by the new place to check it out (a testament to his thorough nature... we didn't ask him to stop by, he just did). When he did, he noticed something that our realtor, property inspector, and seller/sellers agent all failed to mention or notice... the fact that both the parking spots and a decent portion of the stairs were built on city property, meaning it would not be allowed in the vacation rental program (a big part of the equation for us), and the city could tell us at anytime that we needed to rip the stairs down and move THE MOUNTAIN about 12 feet back, probably a 6 figure, months long project! After confirming this with the city (also coordinated by Miguel), we were able to get our deposit back and walk away. We were roughly an hour from going to the bank to wire the money when Miguel called to let us know. Major bullet dodged. Original real estate agent fired. Enter EXP realty. Working with Miguel & Amber on the real estate purchase side was equally fruitful and easy. They were incredibly responsive & insightful about the local market, introduced us to contractors, and even went by the local Spectrum office for us to help get internet setup when the corporate office was being uncooperative! We just closed escrow on a new (and much nicer) house 60 days later and couldn't be happier. Needless to say, they've gone above and beyond and it's been a pleasure to work with them. We couldn't recommend them highly enough, and look forward to doing business with them for a long time.
