Excellent care for all of my beloved pets. I have used them for both end of life care and services during the pandemic. It was a very difficult time and I was able to be present for my senior cats last moments. The support staff and veterinarians have all been compassionate throughout the process. They are very quick with responding to messages and helping to make sure they provide the best care. I now have 2 younger cats and a new puppy that have been in for colds and wellness vaccines. I'm happy with every person we have met and trust them to support my new pets as they grow! Thank you for all you do!

Paul is a lifesaver when it comes to grooming!! This was my 11yo husky's first time at Wrigleyville and I gave Paul a challenge as it had been well over 6 months since Kujo had a deep groom. He immediately sat down with me and got to know Kujo's personality first which was a comfort in itself. Then after the 4 hours it took of removing his undercoat and doing the full 'works' on him, I received a call with full detail on how it all went as well as got insight to any health concerns he found while examining him. The best and most trustworthy people are those who are referred and Paul was referred to me by another husky mom who had only good things to say. Highly recommend Paul/Wrigleyville Vet for any grooming needs!

Unless your pet is in need of costly testing, imagining and/or treatment or even euthanasia, don't bother going there. We scheduled regular check up and immunization appointment and were left waiting for a full hour. We left without being treated. This is an update on my previous review. They didn't see my cat for an hour and we left I forgot to mention in my previous post that I did have a concerns about my cat's poor appetite and weight. If the vet just cared to stop by our exam room to say hi, he would've noticed that my cat isn't feeling well. But the vet had high $ patient next door so we were not a priority. I took my cat to another vet hospital few days later, it turned out my cat was underweight, with pale yellow gums, and tested positive for FIP. Currently my cat is in another hospital fighting for his life, and seems like he's going to lose this battle..... but we were not the priority to be seen because we were 'regular check up' patient only. Wrigleyville Vet doesn't care about your pets, only profits.

Supernova patiently waiting to be seen.

It's out of my neighborhood but worth the extra bit of driving. Easy to get an appt, clean offices and great team! I called today and was able to get in a day earlier for our appt because poor Supernova had some mystery itching. Thank you!

We have used all of the services at Wrigleyville Veterinary Center and couldn't be more pleased! Dr. Ken Slossberg has provided wonderful care for our puppy and Paul has done a superb job with the grooming, since our little one is quite the shedder! He's still getting used to daycare but the staff overseeing it has always been communicative and responsive. Our entire experience has been exceptional and the front desk staff has always been helpful and welcoming. Our puppy Marshmallow is in very good hands!

Update 4/26: Because I left the above candid review, this practice has chosen not to see my dog for her surgery follow-up appointment unless I remove it. This was an important appointment for us since a fistula (tunneling hole) was discovered between her tooth socket and nasal passage during her dental extractions, and there is very real concern for infection and wound healing problems. However I stand by what I said in my original review, and look forward to finding a more ethical practice that better reflects my values - accountability instead of retaliation. Quality care should not be conditional or involve threats. What does it say about a practice if they care more about saving face online than a dog's recovery? Below is the email I received, word-for-word, which I will respond to privately with a much more detailed account of what happened. (I should add that articulating true personal experiences is not the definition of slander. This is the type of behavior I was talking about when I mentioned gaslighting and not being able to build trust.) "Hi Elizabeth, I wanted to let you know that we saw your reviews on both Google and Yelp. Unfortunately we are no longer able to provide service to clients who slander our small business online. If you would like to remove the reviews and set up a time to discuss your concerns with our management team we would like to work with you to reach a resolution, otherwise we will need to cancel your recheck appointment for Libby on Wednesday. Should you decide to seek care elsewhere, we would be happy to forward your records to a veterinary facility that can meet your expectations. Please let us know how you would like to proceed. Best, Karie Drucker Practice Manager"

We're very happy with Wrigleyville Vet being our vet for our Corgi pup. We initially went with them simply because they could see us soonest (~1wk) after getting our pup. Plenty of other vets wouldn't take new "patients" or had insane wait times. We've met and had Drs. Bookstaff, Hardiman, Dudun, and Slossburg and all have been professional, direct, and great to deal with. The team in front is super helpful as well when you have to call in for anything (thanks, Chris!). Today our lil' dum-dum ate a packing foam sheet while out and about and thankfully they could get us in ASAP to get it out. Billing, payments, and records are handled easily and you get your records electronically and in a flash. Anyway, we highly recommend them to anyone and they've been great for our little Chorizo! If I HAD to offer any critical feedback, it's that I wish they were taking new dogs for boarding because we'd trust them for that (call me! Let us in! Haha), and can't wait for COVID stuff to be over so we can go in the lobby upon arrival as it's so open and pretty. All in all, two thumbs up for Wrigleyville Vet and the care they provide.

Nala enjoying a walk in the snow, photo sent to me as an update while boarding her.

Switched to Wrigleyville Veterinary from another local veterinarian because I felt my previous vet was just.. off. Super high bills with little bedside manner or explanation. I'm glad I switched. Invoices are noticeably cheaper for the same issues (my dog tends to get conjunctivitis a lot) and ALL the staff I've interacted with were patient and kind. Literally even their voices over the phone are friendly/understanding and the actual veterinarians are kind as well. Bedside manner is important even for dogs. I'm really SUPER pleased with their boarding though! I traveled to England for what was supposed to be 7 days but had to extend 2 days last minute due to my flight being changed. They gladly let my dog stay for additional time with no qualms. She enjoyed group play with other pups every day, was walked multiple times a day and received a complimentary bath she much needed. I was sent updates with photos and the way they accurately described my dog's personality (which is goofy and unique with some quirks) tells me not only did they care for her well but they really spent time with her. The total bill for boarding was a couple hundred less than I expected. My dog had such a great time I'm not too sure she was very excited to see me, LOL! That's really how I know it was money well spent. Thank you Maggie, Samantha, Caitlin and all who work here. I tried my best to remember everyone's names who spoke with me (and had patience with my questions!!) while I was gone so I could give them public praise. I didn't catch his name but a young man bothered to call and ask about her allergies etc because I didn't pack enough food for her due to the flight delay. They provided a plain chicken-based food for her those days for little cost per day. All around friendly, caring and don't rip you off. So happy they're in my neighborhood and I'll keep coming back!

The two prescriptions I received. Notice how different they are for my less than 9lb dog!!!!
    Michelle C.

DO NOT GO HERE. Not only did they give me the WRONG DOSAGE on the prescription for my less than 9 lb dog - see the bottles for the overdose on pain meds I was directed to give her, but they BLAMED ME in her record after I called to find out why the number of pills in the bottle didn't match the directions I was given. Further, they did NOT APOLOGIZE and no one called to check up on her after their mistake. I will never trust them again with my sweet pup and you shouldn't either.

    Bruno!

I said yes and confidently left, expecting consistency with the previous groom. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. When I expressed my concerns, the groomer responded by saying When I expressed my concerns, the groomer responded by saying she had "shaved his nails for free," which she said is normally a $10 add-on. I explained that it still didn't address the issue at hand and that it should have either been communicated or charged properly as an add-on if that was the case, because it didn't resolve my concern about the haircut. I was told there was "nothing they could do" and that "for future reference" I should bring a photo. I didn't think a photo was necessary for a repeat appointment when the staff made it seem like they already understood what was expected based on his last service. The manager called the next day, listened to everything that happened, and ultimately only reiterated that they do not offer refunds or discounts. No apology, no empathy, and no accountability for the poor experience. The only response I kept hearing was "for future reference." To make matters worse, my dog's ears were cut so short that he barely even looks like he has ears anymore. The haircut looks nothing like the previous groom, and it's honestly upsetting to look at. Since the appointment, he hasn't even seemed like his usual energetic self. I trusted this salon to care for him properly, and instead I left feeling dismissed and deeply disappointed. A total waste of $80 and a tip. PHOTOS BELOW: As you can see in the attached photos, his beautiful black coat was shaved down entirely too close, leaving his face and ears completely bare.

One of the true pleasures of living in a big city it to discover treasures in the most unexpected of places. Who would think that dog grooming would be one such place but I consider CleanDog to be a treasure in Chicago. John brings a rare combination of pride or work and some kind of genius for dog grooming that is ineffable; he just has a feel and an incredible talent for working with dogs. What brought me in the door for our Maltipoo Bailey is that I was looking for someone who would not immediately resort to shears to deal with some matting (admittedly, we had let Bailey go and she was very matted). I know that taking her to our prior groomer would result in her coming home shivering and looking like a short-haired chihuahua. Reading the reviews here led us to CleanDog. In short, John did not disappoint. He is so kind and helpful and went the extra mile (and then another extra mile and then another after that). As others have experienced, we could not believe how wonderful she looked. In fact, it was the best she has ever looked, hands down. John patiently brushed her out, gave her a much needed bath, and then working his own unique magic, brought out the scissors and turned her into a show dog. I can't imagine taking her for grooming anywhere else in Chicago.
