Very nice place. The food was good the atmosphere was very good. We came early with a reservation and noticed that most of the tables were marked reserved. So glad we reserved. I got the French onion soup and the shrimp wrapped in bacon with the horseradish dipping sauce. There were both good. The Margharita schnitzel was excellent served with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes over a bed of pasta that had a tasty basil based sauce. It came with a caesar salid but it did not have enough dressing. My companion had the meatloaf which had a very tasty gravy and was quite delicious. I love finding places like this, especially in these small Hudson towns. read more

Cute bistro on main road in Hudson. Barely any beers....and cocktail menu wasn't that great. Guacamole app was lackluster but wings were phenomenal. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, but the burgers' buns were way too soggy, cheese wasn't melted, jalapeños served on side for some reason?? Also they forgot about our app until we mentioned it, but then it came out with the dinners so we couldn't eat it. Waitress took it off check which was appreciated. Oreo mousse was eh but carrot cake was fabulous. Would try this again but maybe lunch would be better. **I find it odd when an owner comments and says the buns weren't soggy? My friends and I ate them...you didn't. Just take the criticism and say "sorry, we'll do better" instead of making a ton of excuses and flipping it onto the customers. I see that all reviews 3 stars and under get comments back from the owner...and most times there is no ownership. I get it, mistakes happen. But just say sorry and move on! No need to try to say "well, the buns weren't soggy" or "I find it hard to believe your food didn't come out quick" or "your fish was cooked perfectly". Just own up to the human errors, that's all. So conflicted Have been the most loyal Wunderbar customer for so many years. I maintain that their food is consistently atop the best that Hudson has to offer. During the initial stages of the pandemic they came up with an amazing take out system. We ordered their local business take out twice per week. When in-person dining opened, those of us who weren't ready for in-person dining and still wanted take-out were left out. I wrote a review on Facebook and they deleted it. I wrote them an email and they did not respond. Again, I'm such a loyal customer and I have been shocked by their (lack of) response. However I stand by my opinion. As of now, if you want take-out from Wunderbar, be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen, an unorganized system, and being forced to wait in a small area that blocks the restrooms. read more

First of all the menu I have is two weeks old on it reads $35 for a family meal of prime rib Saturday special we tried twice, we were told changed to Monday. We tried on Monday then they were sold out. Tried again today price jumped to $54. Stopped here on our way to the Berkshires for a ski trip tonight and was blown away by the atmosphere, service and food! Drinks were also great. Prices were very reasonable and the kids meal is extensive and inexpensive and there is a classic arcade game machine (free) in the back room that entertained our kids while we enjoyed our drinks. Corned beef special (it's St. Patrick's day!) was some of the best corned beef we've ever had and the Irish soda bread was also amazing. My companion had a worse experience. She ordered a simple salad which consisted of questionable chicken, and she also had a service-related issue. The server was less than attentive and did not initially print the bill as he agreed he would. This caused delay and confusion, unnecessarily so. They usually have liquor specials as well so this time around I had to try the Rumchata Chocolate Milkshake that the bartender there said he created it was delicious and then I tried one of the porters they had on tap which was a great pick. Incredible meal for fair prices. I had the half chicken, very tender and succulent. The broccolini was the amazing as well, and there was a huge serving. First off, the owner is my former neighbor and is a great guy! Now to the food! Being so close to where I live, I would eat at Wunderbar once per week every week and have NEVER had a bad experience. The food is always good with nice portions and is consistent. The drinks are always made with a generous pour. Now with covid I get takeout every single week, normally on a Friday or Saturday. The food is always fast, I mean real fast! It's just as delicious as in person, although I can't wait for things to be normal again! LOVE wunderbar, don't let the name fool you!
