Why did I never think to review this place? I mean, I've only eaten their products since I was a child... As a little one my dad would get me the regular white brats while he's pretty much always preferred the kicker brats (as do I now), which somebody else mentioned are the spicy ones. I know my dad follows the broil in beer/finish on the the grill technique and they've always been a delicious summer staple in our household. The only other thing I remember trying from there are the snack sticks. They come in a few flavors, with Dad's favorite being the jalapeño and cheddar ones. I know they do have the freezer case, but I've never purchased out of it. I believe you can bring in venison and they will make sausages, brats, dogs, what have you, out of it. (But don't quote me on that.) All in all this place is a family favorite. I don't think we've ever given somebody food from here and had them dislike it. read more

Growing up in Wisconsin I've always had an affinity for a good sausage. This place is outstanding. Reminds me of the family-run corner grocery store where I grew up in Milwaukee. No longer do I have to wait for Wisconsin trips to retrieve solid brats/polish/italian for my cookouts. Rivals anything one can find in the Land of Cheese. We have been here a few times. Lot of variety excellent quality. I absolutely love the lamb sausage with feta. It is the best. Knowledgable help behind the counter and great hours. Don't pass it up it is in the middle of a residential area. Street parking. read more

By far the best brats and sausages I've ever had. The variety is amazing, and they have a great selection of fresh sausages every time I go. Whenever I have guests over from outside Aurora, I grill up some fresh brats from Wurst Kitchen, and my bbq is a knockout! Everyone has their favorites here, but honestly, I've never had a sausage I didn't like. The fact that this place has been open, in this storefront since 1895, and is still owned by the same family, is simply amazing. This place is the best. Went on a meat tour last Saturday. Started at Josef's Deli in Geneva then Reems in Elburn with our final stop at the Wurst Kitchen. You can't beat this place. Hands down the best value as compared to those other places and the best part is we had lunch outside as they were cooking up brats all day long. Looks like an old neighborhood grocery. Family run for generations I am betting. Hidden gem on Aurora's east side. Worth the drive They have fresh sausages in the main counter and about 40 different kinds in a freezer in back. I like the normal ones but they get a little crazy with chocolate Brats, taco flavor and a ton of other types. I have been going there once a year for about 20 years now and stock up on all the brats I need all summer long. When I need some I just pull out of the freezer. My family started out on the east side down from the store, and we have been customers since at least the 1920's. Area was settled by Germans, thus the German butcher shop. I remember as a kid all the meats and cheeses. Those days are gone, but that is ok. The brat business suits them just fine. All the brats are delicious. I love the kickers. If you are into hot stuff, go with the atomic. Loved it, but I don't recommend it if you find the kickers hot. Highly recommended and always good meats. read more

We were at a fair were they were and had a brat, it was delicious. They had a card at their counter and I picked one up, three years later I finally made it to their establishment. We had some samples and picked up about $125 different brats. So far we ate the potato brat, and it was the best tasting brat I have had! Their prices are a little high and parking does suck but well worth the trip, we got everything frozen which was a great thing because we live a little far away. The staff sure knows a lot about their business which is very helpful. I can't wait to go back! read more

Amazing sausages and a totally unique shop in the west burbs. I've tried the spicy and regular brats, lamb sausage, various smoked sausages and a couple variations of Italian and they've all been fantastic. My only complaint with the Wurst Kitchen is that it likely will help shorten my life by a few years. If only cured fatty pork stuffed into intestines could to be healthy. read more

Inside, you will find upwards of 30 varieties of sausage made in house. They're all terrific, but the sun-dried tomato, green pepper and onion and cheese and jalapeno bratwurst are favorites. Hands down the best sausages you will ever eat. Super nice people working there as well. I've had most of them and have yet to be disappointed. My wife loves the Jack Daniel brats, and she's not a big brat person. Once you go you will be hooked. Little pricey but well worth it. read more

This place has the best Brats and a very neat old style meat market. If you like brats try putting beer in a pan with onions and green peppers chopped. cook brats for about 7 mins on the grill then throw them into the beer and onion/peppers cook until done then brown, top with onins and green peppers. Drove from Milwaukee to try it. The Mettwurst was wonderful, but the TeeWurst was awful, it was in a paper casing, and the sausage tasted like the paper, either it was old or ?????Would not go back. read more
