The building is really beautiful and at any other time we would have made use of the beautiful common spaces indoors and not just enjoyed our room and the grounds. The room was impeccably cleaned and staff were attentive to needs that came up during the visit. The absolute stand out was our room service meal set in front of the wood-burning fireplace in our room. They came up with a table, offered us options for chairs, had all of the food wrapped in plastic and covered in warming lids, but done in a way that did not interfere with even the delicate plating details. The portions were substantial and food quality was outstanding. They even provided gluten-free options that went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy. I wish I could give 4.5 because there were some minor areas for improvement, but I will round up given COVID was likely a contributing factor.

The downstairs public rooms are beautiful. " Although somebody followed me around where ever I went. You definitely feel they don't want you to sit in the rooms. It is "look but don't touch" just like a museum. If your looking to go to a lovely, charming, gracious hotel . Want to relax & be spoiled) for the weekend don't come here. The staff is obnoxious rude & pretentious. We arrived with are 2 Small Shitizs just as we had before. The hotel was aware we were bringing 2 service dogs.. First night they would not allow us in the dining room with dogs but they had no room for us to dine outside! They wanted us to sit alone in a room by ourselves & have dinner ! I objected. We finally agreed we would have dinner in the bar alone . At least it was part of the dining area. To get to the pool area you need to drive your car. They didn't like where my husband parked our car. No biggie. I think the Pool Boy could have handled it. All he had to do is ask us to move it. Next thing we know the manger of the Hotel comes to the pool standing over us suit & all. After announcing his titled he ordered my husband to move the car. It was definitely a reprimand for his bad behavior. Of course he moved the car. When we returned to our room there was a hand written note offering to serve us dinner in our room that evening. I called the desk to ask about this & was told this was a new thing they were offering ! We ate dinner in town that evening.. I could go on & on with our crimes & misdemeanors. I spoke to this TIGHT A.S JERK when we were checking out . I asked if the General Manger was available. He has a total passive aggressive personality. I expressed my disappointment about the weekend. He went through the list list & more of the above. Wait a minute , aren't I the quest. Isn't this his job ? Doesn't it come with the territory! If he was so disapproving of us he could have asked us to checkout. He didn't do that though. He wanted our $3900. He may not have like us but he liked our money.

The staff is incredibly attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. The ambience is wonderful, with a clean, stylish, and comfortable atmosphere that makes dining here enjoyable. Everything is well-maintained and spotless. The sushi station is fresh and beautifully presented, and the hibachi grill is a great feature that adds to the experience. One thing that really impressed me was how well the buffet stations are maintained--they are constantly being replenished, so everything stays fresh and plentiful throughout the meal. They offer a great variety of food, including New York-style Chinese favorites. The egg rolls were especially delicious and reminded me of the classic New York Chinese restaurants I grew up with. If you're looking for a clean, attractive buffet with friendly service, fresh sushi, excellent hibachi, and plenty of tasty options, Sakura Buffet is definitely worth a visit. I look forward to returning!

While some folks think a buffet is a place to pig out on cheap food, I look for variety and care in the preparation of the dishes and the ability to try different items. I like this buffet. No, it is not cheap, but the food is well prepared, tasty, hot and everything is kept clean. The different hot and cold offerings satisfy both my hunger and curiosity. I found the servers quickly and efficiently removed empty plates and kept drink glasses filled. Though I did not eat my cost of the buffet, I ate what I wanted, was not hurried and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. I will be back!

If you have an expectation for a high quality food experience, you will be sorely disappointed. Two of us are there last night and while our waitress was trying her best, service was chaotic. My drink, a cosmos, had almost no flavor except lime juice. The berry salad was about a half a cup of greens and berries. My fish was flavored ok but was about a quarter inch thick and had multiple bones. The chicken dish that my friend ordered was a chicken leg on braised carrots. Dessert was the best part but all in all not the culinary food or dining experience worth the price tag.

It offers offers a buffet dinner at a fixed price of $65 per person and a Sunday Brunch buffet for $45. Added to your cost is an 18% gratuity and any cocktails or bottled wine you should order. Reservations are required. You would think that as described above, you would be in for a very special meal. In fact, the opposite is true. Tables are nicely set in various rooms of the building, and outside as well, but the lighting is full on high-beam. Service is almost comically bad. Some plates are removed before the entire table has finished the course, while unused wine glasses sat on our table for the entire meal. In one case two water glasses were topped off, but an empty one wasn't touched. Of course, all of this could be forgiven if the food is outstanding, but the buffet is very limited and frankly, not very good. Appetizers, set up in an entry vestibule, contain various cheeses, meats, breads, and crackers. Everything looks and tastes like it came from a local supermarket. In the main buffet room on the night I visited, a plate romaine leaves sprinkled with parmesan was set up in a corner. There were no anchovies, and two kinds of dressing, only one of them labeled. There was also some sort of grain salad, In the center of the room there were serving dishes. There was a tasty polenta, and some carrots which were sliced lengthwise. The entrees consisted of something with large brown chunks of beef. It certainly didn't look very appetizing. Then dry, flavorless chicken breasts with sweet corn. Finally there was shrimp floating in a clear liquid. The shrimp were mushy and I would not be surprised if they came from a can. Though I doubt there were many people in this crowd who frequent those home-style buffet restaurants located along the highway, you could cobble together a more interesting meal at one of those. At least at most buffet restaurants, serving dishes are refilled when they start looking tired. Here, nothing was refreshed once it was set down. Desserts were set up parallel to the entrees so you had clusters of people going in different directions in a small walkway. I didn't try any of the desserts. One of my table companions said they weren't very good. Not much of a surprise at this point. There is so much potential for a fine dining restaurant on the Tanglewood grounds. The audience can certainly afford it. But I cannot envision anyone coming back to this place for a return visit.

They told me other people took priority because they made a reservation earlier, not because the reservation time was different. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! They knew we wouldn't have anywhere else to go and TOOK ADVANTAGE. Gotta say though, food was excellent.. drinks as well, which is why I gave 5 stars for food. But the service was so abysmal, it ruined the experience completely. I would have left and gone home, but I was on vacation and staying at a hotel. The man that was managing the front of the restaurant did offer 20% off and gave my kids free mango lassies although he definitely was more annoyed at us than appoligetic. He even accused us of arriving later than when we arrived. (The waitstaff did apologize even though it was not their fault). This was the first time in my life, I have ever left less than a 15% tip in the US. I was originally going to leave nothing, but I felt bad for the waiters that did nothing wrong. The restaurant is just very mismanaged.

There was a big snowstorm coming the day I was supposed to arrive and I wanted to see if I could shift my trip by a day (arriving the day after the storm and staying until a day later than I was originally planning to.) They were very accommodating and allowed me to shift my stay. However I was charged a higher rate since I initially booked during a special promotion that was no longer going on. Whaaaat? So my choices are to keep my original reservation and risk life and limb driving to the Berkshires during a snowstorm or pay extra to adjust the dates when they clearly had the availability anyway? Not nice Miraval. Arriving home I realized I left two bathing suits in the bathroom. I was able to submit a request to get them back, but the shipping charges ranged from $25 to almost $60. I don't think I paid that much for the original bathing suits. Come on, really?? I guess it encourages people not to forget stuff but it feels a little rip offy. I don't know, there were just a couple little things like that I noticed. Second, the pavlova dessert which I have literally been dreaming about all year, got way smaller. Still delicious, but minuscule. Why mess with a good thing? See the attached photo to see what I mean. So disappointing. Anyway, I still love it there and I will still return, but it felt a little like they are cutting some corners to save a buck and it's too bad. It costs a very lot to go. Let the people indulge themselves with large pavlovas! The specialists and activities were still fantastic, the spa was still relaxing, and the food was still so tasty. But Miraval I know you can do better. Just make a couple small changes and you'll be back up to 5 stars in my opinion!
