The worst. I can't say enough poor things about my experience here and although, I think it was more on how unprofessional the dental hygienist were that makes me never want to come here again. So I get there today and the dental hygienist starts reviewing my chart and none of the information that was she discussing was even about me. I got a filling two months ago and she goes "Yeah so last time you were here, we discussed about doing a filling." She didn't even know that we did one nor did she know why I was even there that day. They scheduled me entirely too soon to even come in for my cleaning - as in less than 2.5 months. Why did the gals at the front schedule me? They are so clueless here and she kept trying to play it off and needless to say, go elsewhere. I feel bad for Wynkoop Dental because the dentists are nice but the hygienist and the entire front desk staff have absolutely no idea what's going on. read more

I have been on the constant search for a better dental experience than in years past and have finally found my place! I have a pretty bad phobia of the dental chair and was very upfront with the folks at Wynkoop Dental. From Dan, who was very kind and helpful to set up my appointment and to listen to my concerns to Lynn who took a few extra moments to empathize and validate my fears. Dr. Alexandra was beyond amazing! She was so kind and gentle and didn't overwhelm me with a long list of root canals, crowns etc. You can tell that she really cares about her patients. The state of the art equipment is pretty impressive as well! I was even asked to choose the music I liked and as it played over the speakers it seemed like everyone was happy and singing which made for an even more relaxing experience! Some unhygienic practices, like sharing sunglasses with other patients. After reading reviews, I decided to give this place a try. That's the thing, you're going to see a lot of positive reviews. They send out emails telling you that you can win prizes for leaving them (which is a violation of Yelp policy). Edit/clarification: Two days before my appointment, they called asking to reschedule my appointment due to double-booking. I had waited months (yes, months), but they expected me to be flexible. I begrudgingly complied. I called on the way, asking for help finding the entrance to the building. Someone inside waved me around. If it was late, it was negligible. Perhaps the owner has me confused with someone else in the below response. I had my new patient paperwork filled out. I sat down and read a magazine. At 15 minutes past my appointment time, I expressed concern with the receptionist. She assured me that I would be seen. Once in the chair, I asked if we'd be finished by X time. I was left in the chair while the staff member discussed with a manager. I waited there for a very long time. I was even able to double check my paper work and finish the magazine. She finally returned to let me know they could only do half of the appointment. I asked to have everything completed at once. This was a colossal waste of *my* time. And also that xray thing is barf and I wish they would have listened. I've been seeing Dr. Erin for several years for cleanings, and have consistently had a great experience. Her office staff is always professional and courteous. Dr. Erin goes out of her way to connect with you on a personal level and provides great recommendations and care. Recently, I had a gap form between my front teeth about 15 years after completing braces. Dr. Erin recommended an express course of Invisalign to resolve the issue and tweak some other minor issues with my teeth. After only a few weeks I had a perfect smile again! I was impressed with her ability to make this happen all while accommodating my challenging schedule. I had a great experience here at Wynkoop Dentistry this morning, the reason for my visit wasn't dental related more of an impaired swallowing and found they provide or rather partner with a myofunctional therapist. Which is what i needed! Day of my visit, loved that they had off street parking at 7am with a parking garage, very convenient! Upon entering, i noticed everyone was very friendly, was greeted very warmly by everybody from receptionist to the assistant to the Dr. The assistant & Dr were very knowledgeable, compassionate & very genuine, I appreciated that. They gave me a few options. Then got the chart for the Myofunctional therapist moving along and with great optimism i am looking forward to my future visits with both the therapist and the dentists! I find out in November of last year I need a crown replaced. A rate of $1,405 minus whatever insurance will cover. I understand that insurance can sometimes be finicky and since this is a large about of money for me I ask "Can you please verify with the insurance company what I will pay and email it to me?" "That will be no problem, we will email over a more accurate quote shortly" I was told. I schedule my procedure for 3 weeks out. In the meantime, I never do receive an email. I arrive for my crown procedure and am handed a bill for $650 (wrongly assuming this was confirmed with my provider as I had asked). I pay $650. 3 months later I receive a bill saying my claim was denied for a frequency issue. I now owe $1,124. I call Wynkoop curious as to what is causing this frequency issue and why the total cost has now ballooned to $1,774? 1 week later no call back. I call my insurance provider. Apparently I was only 6.5 years into my original crown before it needed to be replaced and they only cover once every 7 years. Wish I had that information earlier. Also, Wynkoop forgot to mark down that I had paid $650. Sweet. At the end of the day all Wynkoop had to do was to say "hey, frequency issues tend to come up when we replace crowns, you should run this by your provider since we don't do that for you prior to completing your procedure. Instead I feel defrauded and taken advantage of. I get that you want to be a dental practice and not an insurance company but it's 2018. Figure it out. For a procedure where you are receiving $1,124 of revenue for, it can't be that hard to afford a tiny bit of customer service. read more

I am new to Denver and had the WORST experience finding a new dentist after suddenly breaking my tooth! I read a million reviews during my search, so I wanted to make sure I left a helpful one for anyone out there searching. I finally landed at Wynkoop (after a few other offices) feeling seriously stressed and nervous, and taken advantage of. They are THE BEST! They have carefully walked me through all of my issues, and helped me deal with everything one step at a time. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Allison. For the first time ever, I have no reservations about going to the dentist (always used to hate it). She is calming, kind, super clear about what she's doing, and helpful in answering any questions. I think it's so important to feel safe during these kinds of visits. It can be so easy to get taken advantage of when you have a dentist telling you about all these things you don't understand - essentially we just have to trust these professionals. And with Dr. Allison I feel totally safe, and that I can trust her opinions completely. I also love Juan (I believe he's a dental assistant). He is the best! He makes my visits so fun with his friendly teasing and little remarks - so thanks for the laughs, Juan! I saw several reviews about insurance drama... I get it. Insurance is SO confusing and frustrating, and seems like nothing makes sense. I have spent more than a few hours on the phone with my insurance in the past month dealing with all of my recent dental visits. In my experience, Wynkoop has been very responsive at doing their part of dealing with my insurance, but of course I've also had to do MY part. It's not their job to handle all the details. It's not their job to be on top of your specific claims and issues. But when I have brought anything to their attention, they have been great about playing their half of the insurance game. Insurance is just a pain; that's not any specific dental offices fault. Overall, I haven't met anyone at Wynkoop that I didn't like! And I feel safe and confident every time I go in there. I recently moved here from OKC and was amazed to discover that they are able to make your crown and place it during the visit! What a pleasant surprise, no temporary crown. The procedures I required took about 2.5 hr and the staff were constantly making sure I was comfortable. I requested to use gas (nitrous oxide) since I am pretty nervous when having dental work done. The experience was great. On the down side, it's a bit hard to find, but thats only on the first visit. Street parking is scant and the garage next door is pricey. I was able to park on the street and the receptionist was kind enough to run out and feed the meter when my time ran out. One last comment. The technician placed her hand over mine and offered reassurance when the shots were given and I found that to be very comforting. read more

We are new(ish) to Denver and, after two years with generally poor experiences with one dental practice, we needed to change. Wynkoop Dental was highly recommended and it was time for our check up. Spending time in the dentist chair is not my idea of a great afternoon, but these women made the experience as painless (truly) as possible. They thoroughly explained the issues and their reasoning for the recommended procedures. On the business side, it was very refreshing to see that our statement included what our insurance would pay. (Our previous dentist made us pay up front, then billed insurance; we never saw the paper trail). Yes, it's a little more expensive than other practices, but they have significant overhead with state-of-the art equipment and highly skilled professionals. If you want a strip mall shop, this isn't for you. Because it's in LoDo, parking is a bear; we took the Light Rail -- an easy walk from Union Station. Wynkoop Dental is okay. I came here and paid out of pocket for x-rays and a teeth cleaning. My health insurance rate skyrocketed, so I eliminated dental to cut down costs. There hasn't been an issue yet as I like taking care of my teeth. Anyway, I came here a few weeks ago and left with mixed feelings. The teeth cleaning was pretty standard and the Dentist wasn't as thorough as I am used to. When you are paying out of pocket, you pick up on the things. My last dentist; albeit based in New Jersey, was very thorough and did a good job. This dentist just barely glanced over my teeth after the cleaning and scraping. Don't get me wrong..my teeth look like they would after seeing any dentist for a cleaning. The dentist just wasn't as thorough as I am used to. Maybe for speciality things like teeth whitening or the like it would be different. read more

I had a great experience here even though I was a terrible patient and was late to my first appointment AND hadn't filled out my paperwork AND had to bring my bike in with me. I was running late and realized I had forgotten my bike lock as well as had neglected to actually look up the address of the office... all I knew was Wynkoop and 15thish. I called the office in a panic and Amy (office manager I believe) came out to the sidewalk to flag me in and help me with my bike with a smile on her face. Brook the receptionist didn't bat an eye when I still had to fill out my paperwork. Whew. I promise I won't be late next time! I saw Dr. Cherry and she was fantastic. Fun, nice and straight forward. She gave me a couple of treatment options, explained them well and then let me decide what I wanted to do. No pushy "you have to do this or else..". The office is very beautiful as well, lots of sunlight and fun decor. The chairs were comfy too. I did have to go back in for a small procedure and Brook was able to schedule me quickly and told me right away how much to expect it would cost, which is nice for a student relying on student loans! I'd like to start off by saying I only leave reviews if the service is extraordinarily good or extremely terrible. Wynkoop Dental, I thought you were the real deal. I just moved to Colorado and wanted to find a nice convenient Dentist that was close to my office. They told me that my insurance would cover a routine cleaning twice a year and a set of x-rays every 5 years. On my first visit, they found a couple of cavities and gave me an "estimate" for how much the work would be - I agreed to come in for fillings the next week given the estimate. 3 weeks later I get a call from the Wynkoop office notifying me of a $500 balance on my account. Insurance did not cover my cleaning, x-rays, or the fillings. So much for their "estimate" - I'd call that a lie. They wouldn't work with me AT ALL on the costs. I've never felt less valued as a customer before. You've been warned... read more

They did an entire and thorough evaluation of my oral health and then went through each test and image with me and explained in depth the issues and possible treatments giving me the option to choose my own plan. Wynkoop dental has been an amazing experience for my whole family. Dr. Erin and our hygienist Libby are always very friendly and welcoming. They were able to make my husband (who absolutely loathes the dentist office) happily make a follow up appt. We have also brought our 3 year old daughter (for a teeth cleaning and check) and 6 month old son (for a lip tie) and they made them feel very comfortable and for our daughter even excited to go back. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and well informed. I have had several negative experiences at other dental offices where I felt uncomfortable with the treatments that were being suggested to me. The hygienists and dentists really take away that uncomfortable feeling with clear expertise and friendly bedside manner. So... life gets busy. Moved out to Denver about a year ago, and finding a dentist was down on my list. Shoulda' been higher. When a broken filling suddenly made itself a priority in my life, my wife found Wynkoop Dental for me. When I called, they were able to get me in almost immediately, which was fantastic. Walking into the practice, the office is very tastefully done. Not every time, but generally if a dentist has a nice office it means (a) they pay attention to details and (b) they've done well, which means their patients must be happy. The office staff is friendly, efficient and will work with you on to schedule a convenient time. I travel regularly, so this is a huge plus for me. The doc herself is really good, as well. She first got me hooked up with a temporary crown (yes - I'm apparently getting old here), and then talked me through the options for a permenant crown. The got me quick estimates for each based on my insurance, and helped me to make a decision I was comfortable with without rushing me. At one point, I lost the temporary crown because of the situation with my tooth, and she took care of it without a thought. Customer service here is really flawless. Finally, as we're finishing up, she catches something on the xray of another crown that was already there. She shot the pic over to the endodontist next door, and helped me get things set up for a root canal I apparently need. Have I mentioned, getting older sucks? Geez... :) Overall.... top notch service, friendly staff, knowledgable doc who makes you feel confident, and a sense of value from the service. You don't constantly get "sold up" on this product or that service. They don't pester you with requests for teeth whitening or that kind of thing. I moved to CO in June knowing I needed a crown on my top tooth. By September (when my insurance was figured out), things were pretty dire and I ended up with Chelsea. My one crown need quickly turned to two, which also then turned into two root canals. It's been a freaking nitemare, but through it all the staff has been caring, accomodating and VERY VERY thoughtful. I'm pretty sure I found a dentist here for life. Another plus? They text you your appointment times. Awesome! Office: clean, gorgeously decorated, good magazines and they give out fun stuff like little flosses, chapstick and wisps. Staff: i LOVE everyone on staff here. Chelsea is AMAZING. she's sweet, honest, caring and listens to some great tunes.
