I used to work at a store next to BTP and saw the amazing work these guys did on a daily basis. I found this place based on yelp's high reviews & looked it up on instagram & was impressed. I sent an email to the shop with what I was considering and they directed me to @keekeh (insta handle) and I loved his work on instagram (specifically lettering/lines). We emailed a few times and he was extremely patient with me considering it was my first tattoo. I changed the design last minute and he was still really accommodating. The entire process was professional and he was just really nice. My husband came with and he accommodated him (place to sit). He is clearly very talented. The whole staff was really nice and made me feel as comfortable as possible. The price is reasonable, I mean if you are going to get a tattoo you better pay good money not a $40 special. We happened to go on a day when there was a birthday party going on for the owner and we were invited to have food and drink while we waited for our tattoos. We were lucky to get Marwin. I've been here twice with the same artist (keekeh) and I can say if you're looking for someone with surgeon like precision with his line work you have to check out keekeh. Not only was he professional with both tattoos (making sure everything was clean, if you like the design) he was also laser focused. I don't conversate at all during a session because I want to make sure the artist is one hundred percent focused on his work and I get that from him (I'm sure if you wanted to have a conversation he would he's a cool dude). My experience is only with keekeh but I've seen the other artists work and they look amazing. People at this shop know each other and you can see that with each customer who comes in for a following session. I tend to keep to myself so the fact that I felt comfortable (I usually don't) says a lot about the vibe. Prices are fair. I hate the fact that people go to places to get a cheaper version of something they want. Here you get what you pay for and it's definitely worth it. I came to the shop for a some cover up work from Marwin. I first spoke to him via email and then through text to discuss ideas etc prior to my appointment. He spent a great deal of time before I even came in to go back and forth with photos etc which most artists do not do. When I got to the shop he took time to go over more ideas until we came up with the exact idea. Not only was the cover up AMAZING (you would never know it was a cover up!), he took the time during the tattoo to see if I needed a break, anything to drink etc. All the guys at the shop were just excellent. I went to this place called inkaholics and I asked how much the tattoo I wanted would cost they told me 300$ that if I were to get it now it would b 250$ instead so I said no I'll go somewhere else so I ended up finding black tie right off the bat they where very nice when I walked in I then asked him how much it would b to get the tattoo he said it will b 150$ so I was so amazed that a place that I had never been to would charge me so little for my tat mind you I had already been once to inkaholics so I was a repeat customer to them and they wanted to over charge needless to say I won't b going back to inkaholics I will defiantly go back to black tie the guy who did my tat was off the chain as well so if u want to get a sick tat and not over pay I highly recommend black tie tattoo parlor thanks guys!!!!! read more

On vacation from Europe for two weeks we researched and visited quite a few shops closer to where we were staying. Eventually we were seduced by the good reviews and the friendly reputation given by other yelpers. After an hours drive and upon arriving to the shop (without calling ahead) we were warmly greeted by all the guys. It was totally worth the drive.. away from the overly busy and unfriendly shops we tried around the Miami beach area.. We spoke at length about what we wanted done and immediately they set everything up for us. When we mentioned that our vacation had just started (after they had already set up a station) and that we were going to be spending time in the sun, by the pool and on the beach, they advised us to postpone our appointment. We were a bit disappointed at first, but when they explained at length why not, we set a date for the end of our trip. We really appreciated the professionalism that was shown in doing this, mostly because we were there as tourists and that they had no guarantee that we would be back. This for me, along with the quality of their artwork and the congenial atmosphere was what really made our experience with them 5 star worthy. Having been there on two separate occasions (once to set up the appointment and the tattoo date two weeks later), I can find no fault. The place is spotless, the guys are very friendly and welcoming. What another reviewer said about it being like someone's living room is 100% correct. We had such great laughs with the guys that the tattoo time flew by. We had an amazing vacation and the boys from the Black Tie Parlor were part of the memories we made. Can't thank them enough and hope we will meet again in Florida. My biggest fear is needles. Injection of them to be more exact, you'll see how it ties in to this review. I'll begin with my idea that most yelp reviewers are entitled and snobby with their service standards, and another large portion tends to be affiliates of the company they're reviewing. Because of this, I was skeptical about going to a tattoo parlor with all 5 star reviews. I assumed these were all friends of the artists, maybe even the artists themselves. But a yelp recommendation is a yelp recommendation and what else does a hermit have to go by? So I nervously enter this situation, shakily walking toward the door, and I'm greeted by a gonzo portrait on their wall and immediately knew I was in a safe place. Waiver got signed, I got stamped and tatted, and I expected the pain to be equal to that of a blood test. I shit you not, the first line felt like I was being drawn on with a ball-point pen. Discomfort didn't arise until the artist had to go over the design a second time, and that was comparable to a playful cat scratch. Idk if I got lucky with my parlor choice, or maybe tattoos really don't hurt all that bad and I'm a wimp. Either way, just go here. read more

Wow. We came to this amazing, unpretentious tattoo parlor as a result of seeing work they did on a friend and Yelp reviews. This was my daughter's first tattoo. Kike (Key-Kay) was her artist. First of all, this is not a typical tattoo parlor. It is very clean with some interesting and eclectic artwork. We had met with Kike a week prior with a design idea and he provided a rendering for us to look at prior to our appointment this morning. When we arrived, he was ready for us. They don't use an autoclave to clean the needles, they dispose of them after each tattoo, so I had no concerns about cleanliness. He had a newer machine which was pretty quiet. My daughter got a tattoo of a Mandala. Not a huge piece, but my daughter was treated very well. I don't think Kike could have done a better job. A great experience for her first tattoo. For parents whose kids are asking to get a tattoo when they turn 18, have no fear, this is the perfect tattoo parlor and I think Kike is very patient and accommodating regarding the work.
