Despite being advertised as "unlocked and fully functional," the phone would not connect to any network -- it only displayed "SOS." I tested two different AT&T SIM cards, both of which worked perfectly in other phones (including a borrowed iPhone and a store device at Apple). Apple confirmed the issue was not with my SIM (AT&T store visit to confirm this too) or carrier. He could not have been more helpful. Yes, he tried to upsell us on a tablet, but that's his job. He did what he could for my situation, getting me a manufacturer's warranty replacement, so I can keep going until my contract is up. There is enough competition for mobile devices and plans these days that service is a make-or-break consideration. This location of Verizon does it right.

It randomly shut off and wouldn't come back on. It finally came back on the next day but even since then it keeps shutting off, factory resetting, and closing all my apps. It was clearly just a defective phone. Needless to say, dealing with a factory reset every other day was pretty annoying. I would lose my apps, any settings, and anything that wasn't backed up. I went back to the Cricket store when I got back in town and the gentleman at the counter sent me straight back out the store telling me I needed to call the manufacture, Samsung. He wouldn't even entertain a conversation with me. From my view, Samsung didn't sell me a defective phone. Cricket did and so Cricket should help me with my phone and then deal with Samsung themselves. I called the Cricket Customer Service line and got a really "understanding" manager that was "unable" to help me either. He said he could give me a refurbished phone as a replacement but I was not excited about that option considering I just paid $220 for a brand new phone that doesn't work. Not to mention, I had to put a $200 deposit down for the refurbished phone that Cricket would keep if they deemed the phone issue was my fault.... Moral of this story, Cricket has cheap plans but you are getting what you pay for. I would never recommend Cricket to anyone but more importantly, this retail store.
