On the advice of a friend, I took my beloved vintage stereo receiver to Rock'n Repair back in early/mid-September 2022. They emailed me in late September to let me know about what it would cost to do the repairs after they'd checked out the receiver. I wrote them back that the price was fine and to please go ahead with the repairs. I never received a confirmation that they'd received my sign-off on the repairs, so after a few weeks I tried emailing, then calling - but there was no response. I regularly emailed and called, not receiving any sort of reply until DECEMBER 2022 when they finally answered the phone. They acted like it was no big deal and just a matter of course that they were simply AWOL for almost 3 months. But they assured me the repair work would get going soon. (with no explanation as to why nothing had been done between September and December) More time passed and I heard nothing. After about a month, I started regularly calling and emailing again, but I still got no response. Finally, in MARCH 2023, they wrote me back to say that my stereo repair was going to be a big job and they were "going to focus more on music production and small hifi repairs." When I went to pick up the receiver today, the woman working in the shop (not the technician I'd previously interacted with) assured me that the only reason they didn't take the job is because it was not technically feasible - contradicting what I was told in the email I quoted above. Technicians and artisans are free to take on or reject whatever jobs they do or do not want, as they see fit. But if that were the case, they should have told me that from the start. Instead, they promised they would do the repairs, then simply held my equipment, did nothing with it for months on end, and ignored all my calls and emails before finally saying they simply couldn't be bothered to deal with it. Don't ever trust Rock'n Repair with any equipment you care about. They are rude, unprofessional, and a waste of time. A real disgrace.

And was flexible with me to be able to meet at his house & drop off my laptop. The issue was the left side hinge that someone came undone. He left me know he needed to order some screws and the updated price. Once he had the hinge "fixed" he didn't like the way the laptop screen now "stuck out". So he brought a new screen/backing for my laptop. Since he was not personally happy with the way it looked, he offered to buy me a new/used latop. I never saw it with the "poked out" screen but I would have rather kept my laptop. He said he would take some time and research for laptops of my specified specs. So, I said okay. Please let me know what you find before making any purchases. A few days later he calls and tell me that he opened up my laptop, saw water damage, and now miraculousy my laptop NO LONGER WORKS. The screen does not appear - even with external monitors, just black. This was very disappointing and frustrating. Laptop worked fine before I dropped it off, with the exception of the hinge that came undone. Not sure why he didn't check everything (atleast turning it on/off) in the beginning. I even asked if he wanted the power charging cord when I dropped off the laptop. Still dont understand why he would offer a new laptop and then a few days later say my laptop doesnt work and he's not going to replace my laptop. I paid $170 for the service & to get my laptop back, that is NO LONGER works now. Ultimately, I had to purchase a new laptop. I personally would not recommend Added for owners comment : I would not drive nearly an hour back and forth and pay to get the hinge fixed on a broken laptop.. Also, if there was water damage and the laptop was inoperable I would have gotten a new laptop years ago and not went to you to fix a hinge. Perhaps ask questions of customers and their equipment before you take on their project and for you to educate them, for all parties to agree or decline for you to take on their project upfront?
