I'm giving them two stars for having a location in the City of Atlanta that's not in Buckhead/Brookhaven. Realistically, this place deserves 1 star. I walk in at 2pm on a Tuesday and am told that there is 1 person ahead of me. I count three and sure enough there are 3 people ahead of me. Why lie as soon as I walk in???? I was told that I could only get statements on closed accounts in the store (really Comcast???). So after waiting 30 minutes, my issue was resolved. But think about it, I drove 15 minutes each way here and back. Waited 30 minutes and it took 10 minutes to get a statement. Why is it so hard to be a Comcast customer....oh yeah, they are the only service provider in a large portion of South Atlanta. They can treat customers like crap but we need internet. Comcast added an unknown $15 to my bill so when I called customer service a rep named Rayana told me basically that's my bill and I have to pay it and wasn't making any sense as to why I was charged an extra $15. She tried to say it was because I changed my due date (which I didn't). She said it was because the billing cycle was changed but she had already told me my due date was the same. So when I questioned how the billing cycle was changed but the due date was the same, she said the due date "should be about 4 days later". but earlier she said my due date was the same then when I asked her about the discrepancy, she lied and said she never said that. I reminded her that she did say that and also that the calls are monitored for quality and training purposes...she got quiet. I asked to speak to her supervisor since she wasn't making any sense. I get a text from Infinity with info on internet essentials. I asks me to applu. I try from the link but it says I need a code. It did list only 3 requirements to apply, no service within last 90 days, no overdue bills, and one other. I a call their phone and it goes round and round to get nowhere. I go online it doesnt recognize my address even though I have had comcast/xfinity service multiple times at the same address for 26 years and still have an active account on the buildings cable. I go into this store in person and they just turn you around and get rid of you. No talk allowed about that here! So I call the regular Xfinity and they transfer me to a special line. I hold and hold and then someone in a Philippine call center reads to me the real requirements to be on one of several poverty programs. Why it is not upfront from the start is a mystery. I needed to pick up a few items such as a tv box, etc. It literally comes packaged and the guy still manages to leave out two coax chords/HDMI chord to connect to the TV box so that I can even watch TV. I heard it's hard to wash off. He worked on it for about twenty minutes and created a new account, so I could circumvent the bogus-ness. Not only that, but he gave me a new username, "J-Tru." I mean, that's hot-fire, right thrrrr. I appreciate how he kept it hip-hop in a professional setting. He knew I was down. *Side story: He's the nephew of Dez Dickerson, who was the guitarist of Prince's former band, The Revolution. If yelp allowed each user to have one ZERO star review score in their arsenal to use only when truly well deserved, I would enthusiastically and eagerly award it to Comcast, my nemesis! Last week I spent a total of 17 (SEVENTEEN!) hours in person waiting for Camcast to set up my wireless network in my new home. That does NOT even count the number of hours I spent by phone trying to set up, confirm or reconfirm my appointments! First appt: 6 hours spent with a surly technician (Reggie) who barely spoke intelligible English and who was unable to get the router configured even after switching it for another (refurbished...cheap bastards) router. I was also assured by supervisor Chris on this day that I would not have to pay for installation fee of $149.95 seeing as how the appointment took over 6 hours *and* I still didn't have a network when they were done! Next appointment 5 days later: NO CALL/ NO SHOW by Comast despite my reconfirming twice (once with automated system, once with a "real person"). Had to reschedule for next day. Total time invested this day: 3.5 hours While I was sitting on the floor in new place - no furniture delivered yet- I checked the mail and found that I had received my bill already for the set up 5 days earlier which included the $149.95 which I was promised would be credited! Aaarrgh!!! I called and spoke to billing who said they found the notes in the acct regarding the waiver/ credit, so they were not sure why I was billed incorrectly. CS Rep promised to call me back within the hour after speaking with previous supervisor Chris to confirm correct amount was posted to my account, but I am still waiting for that call 4 days later. Next day: new appt from 11-2, another NO CALL/ NO SHOW appt despite reconfirming 3 times with various people when the technician hadn't shown up. They set another appt from 2-5 and promised me they would get someone out with a brand new router that day, but wanted to me wait 3 more hours. Finally they relented and promised that they would have the tech call me when en route so that I could go back to previous place and try to pack as movers were now coming the next day! Technician (Reggie, again) finally shows up at end of window with new router and works for almost 2 hours to set up, so total time invested this day: 7.5 hours COMCAST is a HORRIBLE company to work with and failed to deliver on just about every promise they made from setting and keeping appointment times to incompetent technical service to indifferent reps to supervisors who fail to follow up when they promise to do so. I hate you Comcast, you evil giant! PS: LaToya was the only positive, helpful person throughout this whole mess and she called me back to follow up when she promised she would and acted concerned about how much time I had wasted waiting for service! read more

I called after a month to have it changed only for it to reappear. Then, they told me I had to take into one of the locations. You cannot call BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE A PHONE. The charges were removed on the next bill and I was charged at the same time. Then I received a late fee. When it clearly states on the bill I paid on time. They have called me multiple times to continue service but I can't get through to correct a bill when I have cancelled my services. She alone earned the star that her company can hang. Otherwise there'd be zero. The hookup guy had a window between 12-4. They called at 4 to say he'd be there by 5. At 5:45 he strolled in. He did a pretty quick and decent job, but all it requires is running a couple wires. He looked pretty longingly at me for a tip when he was finished, but I'd been sitting there all day. No sir. An engineer was sent to my house, him and his partner took a look at some signal box of some kind outside and came back into the house and told us "its amazing you even have a service with the mess we just saw out there" and that they were gonna call a engineer to come fix the issues so our new high speed internet will be stable and fast. So the new engineer turns up a week later, fits the new modem and just before he pisses off takes a massive shit in my bathroom and leaves. He didn't even look at the signal box outside. Low and behold 1 month later my 50MB high speed bullshit internet is now giving me .75MB lol, YES. POINT...SEVEN...FIVE...OF...A...MEGA...BIT. I had faster internet on my damn dial up connection 10 years ago. SO...I have been on the buzzer for the past two days, same shit different foreign sales rep in some far away country that English is a second language to them and they pretty much suck at speaking it and understanding my English accent. Its frustrating, Especially when they are trying to tell you a tracking number for the new router they are sending you and the 3C8 part of the code sounds like "shreetheeyate" said really fast.... I just moved intown where your only option for high speed internet other than BellSloth (AT&T..whatever) is Comcast. No matter who you talk to you will always get a rant unleashed if you ask about Comcast. But to me they are the lesser of two evils. Until our local phone company gets off its lazy a$$ and offers fiber connections to the home like Verizon does for its customers, Cable will ALWAYS provide faster internet access. BellSloth's fastest DSL is the same speed as Comcast's slow option, 6 Mbps. Comcast offers 8 Mbps for an extra $10 a month. If you are like me and download large amounts of data, the extra cost is worth it. Anyhow, back to Comcast.... Last month at a festival in Atlanta, Comcast had a booth where they'd sign people up for service. I got the name and number of one of the sales people and told him I'd call him when I got a confirmation on when I'd be moving into my new place. A week prior to my move, I called him to arrange service. We set it up for a Monday between 11-2. 2pm came and went and no sign of a tech. I called Comcast and inquired about the status and they had no record of me! Repeated calls to the sales agent's direct phone were greeted with an automatic message saying his voice mail was full. The customer service person was quite shocked because these salespeople work on commission and they missed a sale by this. It turns out those people are contractors and the customer service agents do not know who they are. Comcast then offered to send someone out from 11-2 the next day. The agent then gave me his full name and said he will stand behind it. I realized there was probably nothing they could do at this point, and just accepted it. I did get a better deal on my service than the original salesperson was offering, so I was a little less angry. The tech showed up on time (around the middle of the 3 hour window) and got things set up. While it was apparent he was having trouble with the dispatchers he stayed around and made sure things worked. Everything was good except for the on demand service, but as he left, he said it should be working within 15 minutes. He even called back at the end of the day to make sure things were okay, which I thought was a very nice touch. Its working fine, and basic speed tests show I am getting the maximum throughput, so for now I'm mostly happy. -2 stars for the whole fiasco with the outside salesperson though. UPDATE 1/31/2008: 6 months with no outages (there've been maybe 1-2 hiccups that lasted a few minutes, but that's to be expected) so I am raising this from 3 to 4 stars. read more

Ok, now I'm not bandwagoning on the bash-fest here, I'm just sharing my honest experience, and being a fairly recent transplant, let me say it's reassuring to know I'm not alone in grudgingly paying a monthly fee to be frustrated by Comcast at least as often. Let's go back to the beginning. I moved to Atlanta in Dec 05 and called ahead from CA to get it all set up before I moved. To make it all the more irritating, the previous owner had Comcast service so I figured it would be a matter of a name change on the account. Presto! Change-O-Fabulous! But oh no! That would be way too easy. I get here and discover my transfer request was instead processed as disconnect. Comcast quieted my concern somewhat by saying all they'd have to do is "Send out a technician to activate my cable and Internet." Would you be surprised to hear the poor independent contractor, who had been assigned 13 (yes, thirteen) other appointments that day, spent 3+ hours troubleshooting my cable lines to find out why I could see TV, but not get on-line? Long story short(er), poor guy had to call in a supervisor who drives out to the house with some fancy hand held device, points it at the box out on the street and says, "Boards dead. Nothing we can do here. I'll put in an order for a replacement." and drives away! By this time, the on site technician has replaced every outlet in my house, spent more than 2 hours in my basement tracing lines, laid a new line from the street to my house, and made at least a dozen phone calls back to base and still has 12 calls ahead of him that day. I gave him a six pack of beer out of sympathy and wished him good luck. No word on if he quit that day, but it wouldn't surprise me. Nonetheless, Comcast about a month later finally buried the wire they laid across my front yard that would be buried "within 5-7 business days" and it took a grand total of 5 days to get both my cable Internet and TV to work. Ironic twist: I work from home and needed the cable Internet most. I don't watch TV and my wife only does when she works out. We only got cable because it was cheaper to bundle with Internet. As my final comment, I will say that without fail, when my cable Internet goes out, all it takes to fix it is a call to 1-800-COMCAST and by the time I get off hold and someone answers, it seems to miraculously start working again. I'm convinced there's an evil hamster there somewhere at COMCAST randomly throwing switches just to aggravate me. End rant. read more

Drug dealers have a better reputation than these guys. I really cannot contain my rage, right now; but will do my best. We have to do something about these guys. If I could, I would go to directTV, but the apartment only allows cable. Here is how the story plays out: You try to get a plan. They ask you for an appointment time. You tell them 3 times that work for you out of the list of available times. They say your picks don't work, how about this time? At this point, you just want to get it over with and say whatever, I'll take it. You sit around when your appointment is and they don't show up. Instead, they say, we'll be there in a few hours or we be by tomorrow. This goes for ANY time these morons have to show up at your place. I am tired of it. What I suggest is we have a national lawsuit. Not class-action, because that is too cheap. We sue them for the time they cost us. You know how they charge us late fees? We will charge them for our time that they use each second past our appointment time. So, if you make $20.00/hr, you charge them $20.00/hr for every hour you have to wait for them. If you make $300.00/hr, you charge them that. Then, we all individually go to court and sue with evidence in hand. When the thousands of people they hose on a daily basis do this, it will create the same headaches they have created for us. I can't say we'll win, but there has to be some law that compensates us for the loss. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Dear Lord, save me from Xfinity customer service. Like many of the other reviewers, we were charged for a mystery modem for several months, and I ended up on the phone with customer service 4 times before getting it resolved, then we tried to upgrade to X1 service, and for some reason the order kept not being put in. At one point some poor CSR told me that I had to rent their modem in order to get the new equipment (oh, such a lie). I've literally spent at least 12 hours of my life trying to deal with Xfinity customer service, but here's a tip. Email the Comcast CEO, Brian Roberts at brian_roberts@comcast.com with your complaint. First off, he needs to know how terrible, terrible, awful, frustrating and time-consuming customer service is. Second, he won't want the inconvenience, and will more than likely send your note to an escalation department. Either he invests in fixing customer service (and quits with the modem pushing), or he get bombarded by emails. His choice. read more

Literally the worst experience with a company ever. If you can do so, avoid at all costs. 1. The cable channels never worked properly. People came out multiple times and told me it was fixed. It was not. 2. I returned the equipment but then was charged for not returning the equipment. TWICE. Double charged for equipment that was returned. 3. Was told that I would be sent a refund check in 6 to 8 weeks. Today, my phone was disconnected because they are saying I owe THEM money! 4. Unfortunately, my husband and I moved to a new neighborhood where the amazing Uverse isn't available...so, by desperate default, we had to get Comcast. Granted, they shipped out the self-installation kit really fast, which surprised us both! We were hoping this was a sign that their services had turned around and we were going to to have a great experience. NOPE. Although it wasn't their fault that the previous tenant had installed DISH network against HOA rules by re-wiring the entire cable system to their satellite dish and, like an a-hole, didn't replace it back the way it was before they moved out. So, my husband called and scheduled an appointment to have a tech come out and fix this all for us. SURPRISE!!! The tech never showed up the the appointment and even "recorded" that they had called us and no one picked up - which we scoffed and laughed at when the customer service told this was on file. Side note - Tech's missing their scheduled appointments has happened EVERY TIME I had to install Comcast. EVERY TIME. You know it's a big problem when they have an automated system that recognizes this and automatically awards you a $20 credit for their crappy service. Then we needed help to install our WIFI - the customer service had us on hold forever before letting us know that we'd have to talk to a tech about fixing the issue. The tech then says he'd have to charge us for this service to help us install a service we'd already paid for?! Seriously, Hulu-Plus seems incredibly appealing now. read more

The Internet service itself is pretty good but their customer service needs major help from from agents to supervisors. The installer did good but forgot to schedule the cable burying task even tho he stated it will take 2-3 weeks to complete. After 4 weeks I had to call them to initiate the process and was scheduled for 2 weeks after. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on hold for 20 minutes and then was told that he/she is busy and will call me if I don't want to hold any longer. After 24 hours I am still waiting for that call. read more

Seriously, I could train a chimp to bang a stick on the side of my apartment for 15 minutes and it would accomplish as much as these guys do when they come out to our apartment. I can see by reading through some of the other reviews that I am not alone in my disgust for this company. I have always had Direct TV before this and was forced into having Comcast when we moved to Atlanta. That's the bad thing about renting....none of the developments that I know of will let you have a dish and it seems like no matter what area you are in, it is only serviced by Comcast (Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like a monopoly and I thought those were illegal). Some of the problems that I have had: 1. Only half of the cable channels I am paying for working. 2. Technicians showing up at the apartment and having literally no idea why they were sent there then telling me I would have to schedule another appointment because they didn't have the right tools to fix my problem. 3. Comcast representative for our apartment complex that will not return calls so I end up having to repeat steps 1 & 2 again. We are going to try to buy a house next year and the only pre-determined condition that we already have is that we will not buy a house that has Comcast as its only option. read more

Thank God I still had the receipts for it because you treated me like I was full of shit, when in fact, you were. At least you gave me back my 8 months of modem fees 3 months after I busted you! Oh, you and I have such a long history of mess ups, don't we? I don't think there has ever been a time I didn't struggle with you because you and yours are so incompetent! I live in downtown Atlanta, can not do Dish, plus basic cable is included in my association dues so I am STUCK with Comcast. Yes, monopolies are legal if the government says its OK apparently. I am happy with my cable service 1% of the time. I want to strangle someone at Comcast 99% of the time. From reading the posts on this site about Comcast apparently we are the 99%. Pretty much sums up our world these days. But the US bastardization of capitalism works so well. (Sarcasm). If I could give negative stars, Comcast would get them all. Aside from a few electronics manufacturers, I've never known a company that provides a service to customers, so little concerned with their reputation with the very people they serve. I've owned my own modem for 15 years. Imagine my surprise when I realized that Comcast has been charging me monthly for not only 1 modem... but 3!!! Who needs three modems?!?!? Horrible customer service. Horrible My internet is all messed up going in and out. Phone too now. I work from home and this is a mess. I can't get anyone on the phone. Their system hung up on me three times!! They refuse to call me from online chat as the internet goes in and out during the session. I am explaining that I am trying to work... I'm busy. This is a business. They don't care. They said the issue might be with they way the cable was installed and the splitter. I could go into the long sordid story, but we all have them. I was literally crying on the phone with them last night because of the sheer frustration this company has caused me over the last few weeks. I would not believe my story if someone was telling it to me. I would say, "No way! You're exaggerating!" But no, sadly it's a true story. The phone answerers tell me they hear stories like mine all the time. HELLO!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS A PROBLEM!!!!!!! After making 5 appointments and getting stood up 4 times, I broke up with Comcast last night. It was so liberating. With wet eyes, white knuckles, and a blood pressure that was through the roof, I called Direct TV. Like many of you, I didn't want to get a dish, but I just can't, in good conscience, give Comcast another single penny of my hard-earned money. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH!!!! I asked one of the guys that took one of my MANY calls, why he would work for a company that treated people so horribly. He said that he had to pay his bills too, to which I responded, "There are other ways to pay your bills. I would rather work for the company that puts boots on people's cars than work for Comcast." I saw Nikki and Blake's review on the cable and Internet company giant known as Comcast, so I had to give my two cents. When Comcast was still a relatively small company they were the best in the business. I remember when my father first subscribed to their service, everyone in my family thought it was the greatest cable provider ever. We did not have to rely on a giant dish on top of house any longer; instead, we now had a giant box that was the size of an old school VHS player sitting on top of our 32" Magnavox television (that was ghetto fabulous back in the 90's.) Soon everyone in our neighborhood got rid of the dish and adopted Comcast as their cable service provider. Then Comcast developed an Internet service that ran off the same cable lines as their television service. That is when Comcast assumed their Internet and cable service monopoly over the state If I remember correctly Comcast started having customer service issues as soon as they became the cable provider giant that they still are today. Whenever I have had a problem with my service not only would I have to wait up to 1 hour sometimes to get anyone on the line, but I then had to talk to a guy from India about why my service did not seem to work. Service interruption has not been a rare occurrence either. It happens at least once a month. I also always incur random charges on my bill, that increase the total amount due significantly. A fluctuating total amount due for my cable and Internet totals does not make matters less confusing either. And if you want to schedule an appointment to have one of their technicians come to your residence to fix a problem, be prepared for the arrival time to be scheduled in a 4 hour estimated time of arrival block. You should also plan for the technician's arrival time to be at least 3 hours after the last hour they said he would arrive (Blake and Nikki both gave this scenario, but their description was a lot more amusing) Hopefully an Internet service and cable provider will come and rescue Georgia from this arguable Internet and cable provider. Or, as my roommate likes to put it "the evil and monopolistic cable empire." read more

Hands down the WORST company on the face of the planet. Their whole ad campaign about, "don't worry, we'll help you move," is an utter farce! We've moved twice in the past couple of years and begrudgingly kept Comcast and both times our account has been so screwed up that I have to talk to 18 different people in lord knows how many countries to get it fixed. Well, I'm done!! I just told my husband to pull the crap out of the wall and I will happily drop it off to my nearest Comcast service center! On their web site, Comcast does not provide a total price for service prior to the customer agreeing to pay the total price for service. Katz asks, "how much are these taxes and other fees? The information is not available on the web site." A Comcast telephone sales girl replies, "I don't know, maybe $5". A different Comcast telephone contact suggested visiting my local store. Xfinity.com shows a store at 699 Ponce de Leon. There is no store there! When advised of their missing store Comcast replied, "we don't have a store there...we don't know anything about that".
