Xfinity had a good deal on mobile phones so I switched my family of four to Xfinity Mobile, acquiring 3 new phones and expecting to transfer the last phone that we owned. When I took the phone to the store to activate it they said I was only authorized for 3 phones. They ran a credit check which they say failed but they have no way to tell me why. 6 hours of calls to customer service and a call to corporate did not succeed in approving me to have add a phone to the plan that I already own, even though when I started the process I could have up to 5 phones, but I only needed 4. By the way I have not been late on any payment in 20 years. Their only solution was to apply to add the 4th line in one or two months resulting in me paying both Xfinity and my former carrier. The single most surreally bad customer service I've had, in any setting. I can't remember feeling less valued as a customer than I feel at this moment. If it turns out that I'm actually in an Xfinity-funded consumer psych experiment designed to study the effects of bad service on mobile customers, I'm going to need at least a hundred bucks, Ashton Kutcher and some good take-out to not have this experience ruin my Friday. I'm currently sitting on the flor of the store as the mobile service expert attempts to figure out how to transfer my mobile number to Xfinity. I've been here for three hours. After being passed over in their service order eight times (not including the mobile expert who had been 'informed' that I was next), the mobile expert called (presumably) the Xfinity service center on speakerphone - and reached "Thank you for calling Trump resort and casino-" before hurriedly ending the call. For the in-store service: Short and sweet ... what more can I ask for? Took me less than five minutes to see an associate and I was out the door. Granted I waited for their store to open and even patiently when they opened the doors. Being prepared again worked in my favor. Bringing everything I needed and not relying on the associate to print out my bills or work tickets, it was easy peasy. I use to have kickass service from Comcast when I lived in Fairfield and Santa Clara. In Oakland, not so much. I've had a friend who use to be a technician for Comcast in Oakland and they HATE their jobs so much that they only do "half-ass" jobs (He winded up quitting). It's simple, I had enough and just wanted to be done with Comcast! The ever so changing monthly bill, spotty internet even my granny telling me, "Wha Da Puck Prankie?" and when Lola starts cursing at me it usually ends up bad for my health. So I strolled into this location after work with all my equipment and was taken care of by QUE. Don't let his dreadlocks fool you! I will give it to the guy he tried to have me reconsider, but I wasn't having it because at that point I finally caught up with my cable bill and was ready to ski skirttt on out of there lol. Plus I wanted to stop by Verizon before they closed. Turns out granny learned how to order those premium movies on HBO and happen to be ballin out on the new releases without my knowledge. So some tweaks with the parental controls on granny's box and i figured out that mess. Then my internet happened to be slow because I was using my own modem and it wasn't compatible anymore. He replaced it with a new one. There was a better cable/internet package for cheaper than what I was paying so he slid me into the cool kid package. Long story short, QUE was able to listen to my all my needs and concerns and resolved my issues. He could have easily just let me walk out, but he took care of everything. Even my trip to Verizon! I was unaware of Xfinity Mobile and glad I happen to visit QUE first. He cancelled my service with Verizon, qualified me for a new iphone through the XM financing program, and just like that I was back in the running for Grandson of the Year! Great customer service! Perhaps they are under new management since the previous reviews were not great but we had a wonderful experience. I'm a stickler for customer service since I work in the retail industry and was pleasantly surprised at how easy my transactions were. The place looks remodeled, and is really spacious. Everyone was friendly to my kids who were running around and the associates even let the kids watch a movie. The manager was a great team leader and coach, and created a friendly and service oriented environment. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful and I liked that they were not pushing, rather just presented options. Really different than calling in, I highly recommend people to visit this store for great customer service. read more

To add to my previous not so glorious review --- their customer service and billing departments are terrible. Instead of sending me an invoice and then a reminder, they keep harassing me over the phone to pay the bill, six times a day. I finally found the bill today the bill today, and paid it. But they still keep calling me. On the technical / user side, their interface looks ugly, not HD. From memory, DirecTV was infinitely better. And I could record multiple shows on DirecTV at the same TV. Not that I have time to watch anything. Just making a point here. Woke up this morning to bring my pops to try to get a discount for internet. The representative at the store told me to call Comcast. I called Comcast just to be told I had to go back to the store. Once at the store again, another representative told me there is no such discount. The store manager then clarified and said the discount is known as Internet Essential. I really don't understand what was the run around for? Did they not want to give my dad a discount? I've been with Comcast for a while now and never missed a payment or anything. He goes up on the poll changes out the master modem and checks all the connections. He also removed the filter that someone put on our line when they shouldn't have. My comcast contract had expired and my price for internet and tv almost doubled. After a number of frustrating phone calls to redo the contract I was on the verge of cancelling service and moving to another supplier. On a hunch I stopped by the store and Eunice and Marc calmed me down and redid the contract for another 12 months at a price that I felt was very reasonable. I went in to get a SIM card for a new line and to cancel the one that is in the mail. There was a number of customers during the closing hours and I felt there wasn't enough Xfinity representatives in the store. I had to wait for about 20 minutes. I couldnt fault the workers as they are all busy with customers. The representative could not cancel my order since it was already on the way, but he did kindly give me a new SIM card that I could try with customer service on the phone, which I was find with that. I was very impressed by the service that I received from one of the sales persons. His name was Bennie. He spent so much time with me patiently explaining what he had to offer, and setting me up with a new plan. I am skeptical about this new plan with a security system attached to it for free. However, in this review I want to praise Mr. Bennie for his help beyond his work schedule, when I needed technical help to install the HD receiver at home. He had left work and was on his way home, but continued to give me support on the installation. My general review of Comcast is definitely NOT a 5 star, however the service that I received at this location from Bennie was a 5 star for sure. read more

I called today to have a very simple change made in my service: to stop call waiting. Than was this morning. My phone has been out of service since then. Four calls to technical service today, three of them dropped. I still don't have service. And they have not called me back. I am trapped. We are switching back to AT&T ASAP. One reason we switched was for savings in the combination of cable and phone. But we have wasted hours on the phone with customer service and that has taken us away from work. We have no savings. Not only did they get my requested service wrong THREE TIMES in a row (requiring another 20 minutes to call back and correct), but I was quoted and told different prices by all three reps. One rep told me I qualified for new customer discounts when I was moving, another didn't. I was signed up for services I didn't ask for, I was quoted astronomically different prices. When I asked to speak to a manager or someone who knew what the heck they were doing, I was told that "managers don't work in this department," which I call bullshit to. Dont even consider this company --- I started my service 8/22/13 and within a week my service was down several times in a three day period. I had the pleasure of trying to problem solve reconnecting through an outsourced company overseas and it took 3 days of return calls to them (since each call went over an hour and i had to abort and carry on with other duties) to have them realize i needed someone to replace my modem. I continually redirected their attention to the fact that "we just tried that 4 times - rebooting and putting my password back in" which was met with a robot reply of very poor comprehension and bad technical skills. Its unreal to me that any company would want to be represented by such lack of skill or compassion for remedying a situation that their customer keeps getting charged for. Finally a "Tier 2" person is scheduled to arrive to my home (earliest appt is days away - no service in the mean time) and its to be at the companies expense. The new modem worked but only for about 10 days since the service began getting patchy every single day i'm watching tv. (Despite my speed rate being twice what i had in SDiego which never gave my connectivity issues with the tv). I call for compensation and thats where the REEEAAAALLLLLL BS begins. The first billing lady was convinced she could credit me $60. but didn't process it (and that was a 45 min call). The next fella (from Guadalajara) was convinced of the same $60 rebate and did all the adjustments he said necessary for the new balance to reflect online when i pay. I got wise and asked him to stay on the phone with me until it updated online so i don't have to continually negotiate with them. That never happened and the explicit notes he said he made regarding each refunded item on my bill were not avail to any other billing personnel that i still had to contact thereafter. He also stated he'd refund me time of lost service from hookup till when a service person came to my house. That was ultimately not honored. He stated he will double my download speed and last night my tv lost connection 4 times during a movie and the last time knocked me right off HuluPlus. There are so many service issues this company has from communications between departments, training for their overseas company, connectivity into customers homes and even the compassion to just throw their paying customer a bone with all the dropped service and compensate even just for that days service ($3.) but they fail with such integrity that it boggles my mind. Don't upgrade to X1. It sounds great on paper but it is incredibly buggy. Issues with DVR may limit ability to record and watch in second room. I have had issues with the ap not working, audio but no picture, playback of recorded shows with no audio, playback of recorded shows that are choppy. The technician that came out spelled it out best. "It is essentially in beta and they are upgrading firmware as they identify bugs". For the money you pay, it is a real disappointment. I had one help desk person ask if I wanted to add a service agreement. Wake up comcast. read more

I can't believe a company can be so terribly, unapologetically HORRIBLE. First, they sent me a rental modem and tried charging me for it even though I had a whole conversation with the salesperson about not needing a modem because I bought my own. They did the same thing at my last address: sent me the rental modem even though I specifically said I don't need it. I think it's a trick they try to pull to sneak the monthly rental fee in. Then, my service just wouldn't work. Comcast customer service is a nightmare, and I always end up spending an hour on the phone with them. I called and was working through the troubleshooting steps when I mentioned that my service said it wasn't yet activated online, and the first guy said "Then you need to call and activate" and hung up on me. So I had to call the activation number, and wait on hold again, only to find out that they hadn't actually connected the cable to my apartment. So, two more days without internet while I wait for a technician. He comes on time surprisingly, and fixes my connection. Yay! Only the next day I see a $100 charge on my account. Comcast charged me $100 for their mistake They said there was service to my apartment, but they hadn't hooked up the cable to my unit, and then charged me for it. I went through the customer service grind again, only to have the customer service person find that the technician noted the job shouldn't be charged. So they wasted my time, tried to get $100 out of me, when they knew they shouldn't have. Comcast is the worst company on the planet and you should avoid them at all costs. read more
