I have spent 6 hrs of my time fixing various issues with Comcast. Late service appointments, wrong charges, arbitrary changes to my account login after moving service, unhelpful telephone help, broken promises, missed appointment calls, closed call centers, low rebates for wasted time, overpriced services, 'wrong' equipment provided to me for my cable box [ even though it was working fine for a month, and not suddenly its the wrong equipment for the package I have]. Its all become such an absurd blur and on top of that, they are actively anti-consumer and anti-net Neutrality. Perhaps no better example of a monopoly in America today, than this gem of a company. great first experience! while i've had my challenges with comcast. i'm still a pretty loyal customer. i was happily surprised that when i came here for a visit i had superb service. i came up to switch out my remote. i was ready to wait. i saw there were others before me, but because it was such a minor thing, the person went to the back and got me a new remote right on the spot. no waiting. service with a smile. pretty awesome! read more

Had a confirmed appt this morning with an arrival time of 7:30am-8:00am. 8:15am no show no call so I called Comcast and they said "I don't know exactly where the technician is but he should be there imminently." 30 mins later I call back and a different comcast rep says, "I left a message with our dispatch center and either the technician or dispatcher will call you back in 30mins." I had already taken unpaid time to stay home from work and after they were over 45mins late for a confirmed appt I was told to wait for another 30 mins and maybe I would get a call back telling me whether or not the technician would keep the appt. What a terrible experience! Finally after 9am a truck showed up and the technician was really great, hard working and personable. He apologized for being late but Comcast had doublebooked him for two slots during a 7:30am-8:00am arrival and it was technically impossible for him to succeed. What a terrible way to start out as a new customer. I filled out all the surveys and so far no follow up or apology. Do they even care? They are not the only game in town for internet around here. They make it seem like it is one company, but they have 5 different billing departments for voice, video, internet, home security and some amorphous xfinity customer service line. Apparently Comcast has now outsourced it's tech support to support.com which rivals Comcast in its ineffectiveness and poor service. To use support.com, one has to pay an additional $15 a month! So Comcast now charges its customers to fix the problems that it creates! My roommate was able to connect to wifi but was getting kicked off our network frequently, though had no problems with other wifi networks. After numerous calls and waiting for call backs and diagnostics, the support.com technician prompted her to uninstall her wireless card drivers, then announced that there was nothing else they could do and she'd have to clear her hard drive and restore her computer to factory settings, hung up the phone and closed the ticket. This left her worse off than when the call started and led to a several hour process of trying to get her card driver reinstalled. Of course there is no one to complain to at Comcast - since their answer is that this is all handled by support.com. What a poor decision - to outsource tech support to an unaccountable third party and to charge customers for it! read more

Oh my god. I am in the process of moving and I am doing everything I can to stay away from Comcast. They offer you a one year deal but lock you in for two and then continually jack the rate throughout your contract. My parents are now paying over $200 a month for cable and internet, a price which started out at $69.99. Now they are slowly introducing the concept of charging for data usage, like phones do. ATTENTION people, this is a BIG deal. Pretty soon you will be paying double or even triple for Xfinity service. WE NEED OPTIONS! The line can tend to get a little long when you first walk into the building, but they take everyone in and were able to handle things very quickly! I had to return all my Xfinity gear after cancelling service and they were able to handle everything really fast with no hassle. Thanks for a painless process. read more

I had my identity stolen & the thieves came into this location purchasing services/ equipment on my existing account. They did help me get everything off my account, and back to normal but the problem is this, a rep told me that they knew the ID being used was fake (somehow and some way they made the transaction process).. Apparently there is no protocol for fraudulent activity. Please get training on how to deal with these scenarios. read more

I dont know why this store exists for. I called xfinity customer service many times to register my modem. They wanted me to call this store. I did call and asked them to start service in my appartment. They insist that they showed up at the building's front door. I did receive a missed call only once that day. My phone was in silent mode. I did try to call and reach them back right after I saw the missed call. It was about 15 min later. Nobody picked up. I made another appointment by calling customer service next. They did not come again. Nobody evenn called that time to explain it to me . I did wait and expect them come but nobody appeared out there. I did call customer serice last time and disactivated my account. This is not respectful. Customer is customer. This store's reviews already gives an idea about their performance so far. read more

yes, yes... i know i know.. how can i give comcast 4 stars?! well, i'm not rating my service at home ONLY the service provided at this particular location and my experience here. upon arriving at the store front, i peak inside... i see tons of people ... great! not. i walk in and i'm immediately greeted by a comcast employee who helps me check in. yes, he wasn't the most friendly guy, but would you be if you were working there w/angry+ impatient customers all day? here is why i rated this location as 4 stars, compared to all the other locations i've ever been to: + the area is huge + there is a queuing system, you don't have to stand in line (more importantly have your space invaded by that guy/girl that stands too close) + they have seating!! while you wait, you can sit down if you can find a seat - the seating could be wiped down a little more, some where a bit icky BUT i'm happy that there is an option + no smell + it's sort of decorated with screens, comcast colors, etc. unlike the typical gray like 10x12 room you're usually in (for the older comcast locations) definitely the best cable company location i've been to. note, they have both street parking and a garage. do the garage, it's free ;-) read more

this place is way better than their last office. much faster times and easy waiting area. they offer wifi while you wait too. you used to have to wait in a cramped line with a small room and no AC. now it is the exact opposite. very good experience. comcast in general gets 3.5 stars from me. they are better than direct tv but they could improve a few of their services. read more

Came to set up an account and got all my things. Went home and activated everything. 2 days later I receive a package of another router and cable box. I call xfinity and they tell me that I will have to go back in store to return it. I came in here earlier to pick up a box that was on hold for me. a bunch of people were here waiting and the employees were in no hurry trying to get people taken care of in a timely fashion. I finally got taken care of and was good to go. took my box home. called the number to activate it, and it doesn't even power on. so I guess that means I come BACK to the store. walk in. greeted immediately. I then am told that I have about 5 people in front of me and that I have to wait. I tell the guy I was just here 2 hours ago and I've already done my waiting. he didn't really care. he told me everyone waits. well that's cool guy, but seeing that I had to make ANOTHER trip back for YOUR faulty equipment... you would think he'd try a little harder to get me taken care of. Xfinity has so many issues there are too many to list. Just one very small example: freezing--the menu bar will stay frozen on the screen while what you've recorded plays in the top half of the screen, and it doesn't go away for hours--oy you try to fast forward, and this pixilated blur remains on the screen while the sound of the show that you've recorded continues to play without the picture. read more

My identity was stolen last night and someone bought 5 Iphones using my SS# and a credit card I have not tracked down yet. I don't know if it is my credit card or someone else's. This is not a review of this location, but the service. It is sad that it takes less time to write this review than it takes to get someone to answer the phone at xfinity and hear (not fix) the problem you are having. This would be true even if I one finger peck my way through this review (including the time to make coffee) The problem I am having is that all the channels are out (and yes the bill is paid!!). You have to love the new and improved X1 box Every time I have had to call, it talks an hour to get anyone with any competence to help me. The only person I was able to talk to identified the cable box and had to transfer me to someone else. Yea, off shore call center. This took at least 30+ minutes. It would be nice if they could do this based on your account. But sadly this feature only exist if they think you owe them money. All I can say is that if you use them, be prepared for days of no service and no one to help you. read more

This is only my 7th 1-star in over 200 ratings and over 80% are 3 stars are higher (as of this post), so its not easy to get me to give a 1-star. Comcast has earned it. We've been using Comcast at the last 3 places we've lived, but never had many problems until we moved here. No matter how we approach getting our problems resolved we run into problems. Its a big concern that this is the primary high speed option in the area. Many in our neighborhood are going to other options, such as AT&T and Satelite. While these might not be as fast as cable (in theory), if they are more consistent then it will likely quickly make up for it. If we were not stuck with a contract, we'd do the same. I work from home most days, so having reliable internet is important. I have often had to go to a coffee shop to work or missed video calls related to work because our internet is down. Our neighborhood has done some research that really demonstrates that this is a consistent problem throughout our neighborhood. Yet, it seems that instead of solving the problem Comcast tends to use tactics to get us to pay more money to try to address the issues. This is really problematic, as we are paying money to try out options that have not helped. We've done more than one of these now. Let me give several examples. First, several of us, when having repeated problems, have been encouraged to 1) go buy a modem to fix the problem or 2) pay more for an upgraded speed. Recently, we were encouraged to hire an electrician to rewire some of our house (to see if going wired instead of wireless solves the problem, even though the problem continues when we are connected directly to the modem) to see if this MAY solve the problem (we live in a fairly new home). I have not heard of this solving anyone's problems, and the parallel attempts have not solved ours. Second, they now began charging for home visits if it is not due to a Comcast problems. In theory, this makes sense. They charge you only if it is problems related to their product; however, it is often difficult to tell and, at times, they come out and can't determine the problem, so we get charged for the visit, yet the problems return. Most of the problems we've had are ones that go in and out. We will have good speed and connection for a while, then poor. If the Comcast technician comes while the problems are not occurring by chance, then we are charged -- even if the problem remains. Given that this pattern is common in our neighborhood, it seems evident that it is not an issue with our equipment. They have begun pushing a service where we pay more every month, but then wouldn't have to pay for the visits. Again, this makes sense in theory and I would not have a problem paying for it if there were not consistent problems with internet at our home and in the neighborhood. It costs Comcast time and money to send people when the problem is on the customer's end. If they do not charge, it is likely that some customers would likely take advantage of this by requesting a technician as a first option before even checking to see if their equipment is functioning properly. However, I now walk through all the standard trouble shooting steps before call Comcast (reseting modem; unplugging modem & router for at least 30 seconds and replugging them in, connecting my laptop directly to the modem, etc. -- often will even try out a second modem and/or a second wireless router before calling) -- which takes anyone from 10-20 minutes.Then I wait on the phone generally for 10 minutes or more before talking to someone. This generally occurs multiple times a month. Given that this is a repeated problem and that is not being resolved, any charges for visits should be waived until Comcast can demonstrate they have resolved the issue on their end. Otherwise we are repeatedly spending time (which is money when you work at home) to resolve the issue without compensation for our downtime from Comcast. Since moving several months ago, I am spending several hours a month trying to resolve problems with our Comcast service. Thus, I don't feel I should have to pay for service visits until they resolve the problems on their end on a consistent basis. This gets a 1-star because: 1) The product is poor. 2) The product is over-priced. 3) The customer service is very poor. 4) They keep trying to sell us more products to resolve the issue despite there being pretty good evidence that the problem is on their end. 1-star. read more

What was the best, fastest, and reasonable isp in Alameda became the absolute worst, poor customer service, and insane pricing I have ever come across. My cable bill has gone up and down more than a hooker on crack! You call them on the phone and get another country that doesn't have command of the english language. Xfinity is a terrible experience, hours of automated phone messages, terrible customer support, very unhelpful. My list of frustrations can go on forever but a simple task of adding my wife to our account entailed a 5 minute automated phone system, 20 minutes of waiting lots of questions and finally could add my wife to the account that took less than 1 minute. That was just my last of almost monthly issues and frustration with xfinity, one day I hope to have a carrier that is honest and capable. read more

I wish I could remember his name but the best I can do is describe his features just so I hope Xfinity will do something about this guy. Anyways, hes about 5'9-6'1", dark skinned mid eastern guy who is pretty slim and has a shaved/buzz cut head. Somewhere between the ages of 25-32. I came in to pick up my cable box and internet modem on a Saturday around the early afternoon. The guy helped me out, gave him my account info and what not and came back to hand me my new cable and internet set. Now before this, I had opened an account through a comcast client over the phone, I managed to snag a $50 promotional deal which includes additional TV channels and the highspeed internet for 6 months. I was happy until the bill came. I looked at my bill only to realize that I owed $115. I called comcast immediately, and you already know how poor their customer service is. After several phone calls and being turned down and passed over like a rag doll I finally got a reason why the bill was so high. The idiot who I just described for some f* up reason voided my promotion deal. Apparently the guy offered me a "FREE" HD box and since I agreed to receive the box he managed to void the promotion deal I had without addressing this to me. Now I am screwed, missed out on the promotional deal and I am now stuck with comcast and a fat bill that I did not sign up for. Because of this I am definitely reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and I hope everyone else does the same. Comcast has the shittiest customer server and employees. Sadly enough, as a company they are growing and getting away with this BS Just remember, avoid the guy I described, and make sure to refuse any "FREE" item they offer you. You will lose the promotion deal you originally signed up for through the web or phone without any warnings just so these guys can get commision. read more

The Sunday before Memorial Day, and Comcast never came for their internet service appointment this morning. Never mind that I cancelled special plans so that I could get my service restored to reliability. After over 20 minutes on the phone, I was told that they had no record of my service appointment, and I would have to wait until Tuesday. And, no a supervisor was not available. So what if I had been with them, at over $72 a month, for internet service since they acquired At Home. Of course I had a record on my cell of the time and duration of the call when my service appointment was scheduled. Of course all of my calls with Comcast "customer service" should have been logged with details under my account. But, hey, this is Comcast.... The good news is that the replacement modem they provided me a couple of days ago is temporarily working right now. Of course it was offline nearly the entire day yesterday, and went offline 20 minutes after it was first installed the day before. My technical brain says there is probably a connection problem, and that is why I scheduled a service appointment yesterday for this morning. When Comcast said Tuesday, I discovered that the local "Service Center," where I could pick up another modem, was closed until Tuesday also. How could a replacement modem have the same problem as the earlier one? Now I realize that with Comcast, this is not that improbable. The really good news is that Verizon hopes to extend residential broadband service to my area soon. Meanwhile I shall continue to be one of many typical customers of Comcast. read more
