Great food and service! Definitely a location I enjoy eating at when I visit this side of town!

Good solid chinese food. Large menu with good variety. Americanized menu and also authentic Chinese menu. I frequent this establishment every 1-2 weeks. The portion sizes are decent and price is o-k, a bit on the pricier side for the size but these days everything is costing more for businesses so it is likely just par for course. They are able to accommodate requests- I have requested reduced or no salt added on some of their dishes due to medical conditions and they have always been able to followthrough accurately with the request. I tried calling to order ahead for pickup and the lady who picked up said they are actually closed for 2 months for renovations. Looking forward to when they reopen as I already miss their dishes! read more

I hesitate to rate this establishment 3 stars because the facilities were very clean and the cheap ass furniture reminded me of real restaurants in Taiwan. Like in a really positive way. Additionally, the staff were polite, patient, and prompt. However, I found the food only mediocre. The texture of intestines usually puts me off, but everyone else in my party absolutely loved the stir fried intestines with pepper so I definitely recommend it if that sounds like something up your alley! The only dish I found objectionable was the cumin lamb because, as my partner put it, "Tastes like cumin with a side of lamb." The dish I liked the most was the water spinach, but only because it reminds me of becoming a hermit after everyone I've ever loved is killed. And not because it was better tasting than any other Chinese restaurant in Columbus tbh. read more

Tried this out for the first time last night and would definitely recommend!! My only compliant is I wish my food was spicier but that's it! I ordered the Thai Yellow Curry Shrimp and it was delicious! Jumbo shrimp (cleaned) was cooked to perfection and the overall flavor of the dish was amazing. I've spotted this restaurant a lot whenever I'm next door at Sunrise getting groceries so I tried it one day for lunch. I got the salt and pepper chicken, sesame noodles, and the lunch portion vegetable fried rice. Delicious! It lasted me a few meals. Everything was flavorful. The sesame noodles weren't spicy, although it had a chili pepper next to it on the menu. The salt and pepper chicken had jalapeños which gave them a nice kick! I would definitely order more items from the menu. Lots of good stuff! A good handful of tables in here as well. But they seem to get a mix of people dining in and getting takeout. read more

Saw this awhile back and kept meaning to come, and when my friend suggested it for a celebration lunch, we met here. Huge, interesting menu. In the back you will find some Thai stuff and Chinese-American standards. But the real fun is pages of authentic Chinese dishes. I wish I knew more about what they are. We picked something familiar, something a bit more odd but presumably understandable, and something weird. The familiar was sesame chicken, and it was done very well with perfect rice and super crispy chicken in a tasty sauce. The somewhat-odd was duck vermicelli soup. I like duck, and vermicelli, so we'll recognize it, right? Not really. Nice, subtle broth, with many bits of bony duck, some perfect vermicelli, and bok choy I think, plus sheets of what I assume was tofu, plus big bready croutons. Not as flavorful as I expected, but I asked for chili oil on the side and added some to taste. The weird was bullfrog in golden soup, and it was by far the favorite. Hunks of frog with a bit of bone in most, easier to get out than that in the duck. Good flavor in the meat. Some mushrooms I think. Assorted veggies. In a beautiful, and great-tasting, broth that hid a fair amount of heat. Very good, maybe kinda like hot and sour soup some places. Tons on the menu that I want to try. Good service. Smaller than I thought but bigger than it seems when you walk in the door- there is another section behind a mirrored wall. Nothing fancy, but clean and bright. I'll be back. read more

Delicious and AUTHENTIC Chinese food beside Sunrise Asian Supermarket! They have a more Americanized menu with things like General Tso's and Honey Chicken, but they also have an authentic Chinese menu. (If they don't give you the full menu when you arrive, definitely ask for it!) My partner is Taiwanese and also loves their food. We have especially enjoyed the pork intestine dishes and whole tilapia dish, which comes out boiling on a heated, intricate stand. The interior is quite simple and narrow, but not in a bad way. There is a main room that you enter and a slightly larger room connected to the outside that I believe they use for larger parties and when the main room is full. The second room has at least one rotating table for sharing dishes. Overall, delicious place whether you're looking for a taste of home or looking to try something new! read more

So hard to find good traditional Chinese... had high hopes but....place is filthy, kitchen dirty, staff on edge of rude. Food is edible but not that good. If you are ordering anything that have the pepper marked by the menu item, ensure to confirm if you could adjust the spicy level . My favorite will be the Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs. Appears to be quite authentic. Nice fun vibe in the restaurant too. Dishes were all made fresh and the menu has some items I've never had the pleasure of trying yet (duck blood, bull frog). We got the fish stew, eggplant (both must gets), chili oil dumplings, and mapo tofu. Awesome spot! read more

Very authentic, and very tasty. I've noticed this new Chinese & Thai restaurant for a few months now. Finally stopped in. On a Monday night, the dining room was full, and I was one of only three diners who appear to have been born outside of China. Everyone else here knew authentic Chinese food better than I do. That's always a GREAT sign... Food was very tasty. Portions were good. Service was quick and polite. Prices are fair. All in all, I'm impressed and quite sure we'll be back - probably soon. read more

Best Chinese I've found in the NW Part of Columbus, and I've tried them all. We've always gotten carryout and our order has always been perfect. The only thing that isn't quite perfect is the food and it is very much better than everywhere else. It was closed this Monday and I tried Firey Sky. The Firey Sky chicken curry tasted burned and the mala green beans tasted old and flavorless. We'll stick to Xin Wei Kitchen no matter when it's open. read more

OMG this was so good. After a gruesome day of moving to our new place there was no way anyone was going to cook. Don't even know where anything is so takeout it was. We were in the mood for Chinese. Being unfamiliar with the area, I looked on line and there plenty of places with even more warnings. We just wanted basic Chinese American food and the reviews were good. So we gave it a try and we're glad we did. We went all basic: spring rolls, combination fried rice, Singapore noodles and General Tso. Well, everything was so nicely prepared and effin' delicious. Rice was tasty, packed with ingredients, plenty of sesame flavor but not oily at all. The noodles were springy, spicy with plenty of plump shrimp and moist chicken. The General conquered! I love General Tso but locally it tends to be a soggy sweet mess of chewy dry chicken. Not this general, batter held up. I Ely to a spicy/sweet sauce, chicken was, again, tender and moist. I cannot wait to go back. I like trying different things and am looking forward to try the authentic Chinese menu. I don't think I can try the bullfrog but the fried intestines are definitely worth a try. Give Xin Wei Kitchen a try. I'm glad we did (almost didn't because I was not a fan of the "Thai" place that was at this location). read more

I tried this place again. This is maybe the third time recently. I had enjoyed the food when they first opened, including the Hot & Sour Soup. Sadly, the food seems to be entirely different now. While there was some spice in the Hot & Sour soup, there was very little else. No sour, very few other items. Just very little flavor . And yet, it was more flavorful than the Kung Pao, which could have used a bit of salt. Sadly, the only server disappeared after dropping off my food and didn't reappear until she brought my check. This is so sad for me, since this restaurant is about two blocks from where I live. I hate saying bad things about small businesses, but they have made this so difficult. I oredered pickup via Uber Eats. The app advised it would be 20 to 30 minutes. Then it gave me a 45 minute pickup time. Not great, but ok. Near that time it said the order was ready. So I drove there, it wasn't ready. I ended up waiting 60 minutes total for a small carry out order. The food was ok but not worth the wait. I'm not sure if the app messed up or the restaurant did. I understand a long wait if they're really busy. But I stood in the restaurant for 15 minutes, after already waiting 45 minutes, for the food due to the fact that it was supposed to ready. The dine-in digs are very spartan. 4 tables in front section; maybe 4 larger on other side of glass. This kitchen is not a dine in place unless, like me, you're simply testing the waters. The food was SUPERB! Egg drop soup 'large' was large; soup hot and eggy. You could also taste the sesame oil which is a rare treat. Entree was Mixed Vegetables in white sauce. Double superb. Broccoli, water chestnuts, mini-corn, bamboo shoots, snow peapods and Chinese mushrooms. Steaming hot with a side of piping hot steamed rice. Even the take-home container fit the bill. I've taken out a few times but never dined in. I dined in with my friends this time and got to try several dishes. They were all great! We were happy with every dish, very tasty! The cauliflower dish was better than I expected. If every veggie dish tasted like this, I could possibly be a vegetarian. I don't remember the name of the prawns dish. There's a picture of this dish on the front window. We just pointed at the pic we wanted to try. It didn't disappoint at all. A note from me, don't expect much of the hostility if dine in. My husband and I decided to try this place, after I'd pass it many times to go to other stores in the same plaza (was curious). Although the place is still under construction and very small, we didn't care...The food was amazing! My husband ordered the crispy orange chicken, along with the chicken corn soup; I ordered the crispy garlic tofu, along with the hot-n-sour soup and a vegetable roll. Everything came out fresh and piping hot. The tofu was nice and crispy, and the sauce used was flavorful, pairing well with the tofu. I loved the veg roll, and wish I had ordered two! The hot-n-sour soup was spot-on, as well. My husband said the orange chicken was better than his favorite spot he'd always get it at. The cherry on top? Amazing prices! We've been going to the grocery store, Sunrise, next door and finally decided to have lunch here on May 30, 2024. The small restaurant holds just 30 persons but seemed tidy and clean. We both ordered 'lunch portions' of Lo Mein and Cashew Chicken. The young waiter/host did not try to engage us in conversation. Food came within 20 minutes; plates were smaller than we had experienced in other places (and yes, we have been to many chinese restaurants here in Columbus; many fail to 'impress'). There were no 'extras' with the meal, aka soup or after dinner cookie! The price was fair but as an experience, it left us a little 'let down'. read more

I will never step foot in this establishment again. I've had two very unpleasant interactions with the staff at this place. They have ZERO customer service skills and treat their 3rd party delivery drivers like a nuisance. I went there twice and the second time was because I decided to give them another chance and they blew it again by wasting my time because they failed to confirm an order they let another Dasher pick up. They need to make sure they have the pick up person hit confirm when giving out orders!!! read more

I agree with the other comments - this restaurant is truly one of a kind. The menu is expansive and authentic; the prices are fair and the food is delicious! It tasted fresh and you could tell most of the components are made in-house. The portion sizes are just right too; perfect to eat in one sitting or to share with companions. Pork dumpling acceptable. Scallion pancake did not have any visible or flavor of scallions but what it did have was a pool of grease surrounding it. It went into the trash b/c it was so objectionable due to the amount of grease it was drowning in. read more
