My go-to for fresh chewy boba! I really like coming here when I want boba. Xing Fu Tang boba is one of the only places where I will get boba every single time I get a drink there. Since their boba is made fresh and kept in a warm walk, the boba is always soft and warm and doesn't get hard even when it's put in the drinks. Another thing I like is that they do have drink options that don't have caffeine in it. I especially like coming here during the weekday since they're usually not busy so the drinks come out really fast. On busier days, sometimes they do run out of boba, but they do let you know ahead of time or they give you other options. I also like that they have boba with ice cream because some days I don't want a drink. But I do want a sweet treat. We've had so many of their drinks and they've all been really good which is why we come back so often. Fresh boba is good fresh Xing Fu Tang is known for handmade and fresh boba. And they make large batches in a golden wok, not fresh to order. By the time I ordered the work was down the last dredges of the batch. Because they're handmade in store, they lack the binding to keep the texture. It's like when noodles have sat in soup for too long, the boba over-bloomed and texture wasn't appetizing. The milk teas were good though. There wasn't an option to order less sweet so the drinks may be too sweet for some. Order was by kiosk and someone will call out the order number when drinks are ready. This is now my favorite boba place in the Bay! The interior has a traditional Taiwanese feel; for example, there is a corner to determine your fortune by choosing a stick out of the pile. The staff were very friendly, explaining the menu to those who wanted more information. After ordering at the kiosk next to the entrance, it took roughly 5-10 minutes for my order to be ready. I got their brown sugar boba ice cream, which essentially has their homemade tapioca pearls layered under milk tea flavored soft serve. The ice cream was very flavorful; it has a genuine milk tea taste without it being too sweet or tasting too artificial. The boba was very well made and has got to be my favorite I've ever had; it's coated in brown sugar which pairs very well with the ice cream. It's important to note that the boba comes out hot, meaning you have to make sure you eat the ice cream poking outside the cup before it melts into your hand. (for me, after the ice cream melted it turned into a syrupy mixture so I decided it would be perfect to mix it into a jasmine milk tea I prepared at home!) Not sure if it was an off night or just the nature of a fresh batch of handmade boba but we (taiwanese fam) all found the boba to be not Q/chewy enough and too plump - it was constantly getting stuck in the straw. Since the boba is in loads of brown sugar, and a small cup of tea, "less sweet" ended up being too sweet for many. At these prices I'd opt to try another tea shop. With the boba made from scratch in-house, this is among the freshest boba you can get anywhere in the Bay Area! If you have no other reason to drop by a tea shop in a strip mall in Milpitas, let this be the reason. I first heard about Xing Fu Tang from a local Instagram food influencer whose content crossed my For You Page. The drinks were presented as cute, photogenic experiences, purchased more for creating content than to drink. But it caught my attention, and I made a note to bookmark the shop to visit later when I was in the area. I got to Xing Fu Tang on a busy day. A gaggle of food influencers were gathered around one table with their iPhones and a portable ring light. They piled their colorful drinks five high in different arrangements as they posed in front of the cameras. Another table had a group of friends sipping drinks and chatting. The shop was also full of customers waiting for their drinks. I ordered a Taiwanese Boba Milk Tea at the kiosk, gave my name and phone number, and waited for the staff to make my drink. The shop was busy making fresh boba. One person kneaded the flour-dusted cassava dough to feed it through the boba machine; the freshly rolled pearls were gathered for the idling wok which stood in the middle of the store. The staff must have been ladling boba into my drink from a recent batch of boba because at no point did I see them fire up the wok to cook a special batch just for me. Malty and earthy, with a touch of darkness, the tea was delicious. I was sure that steeping the tea a little longer would have gotten it the boldness found in other tea shops' black milk teas around the Bay; it could only have helped accentuate the tea's darker notes from the notes of the boba. The boba itself was excellent! Cooked just past al dente such that it was pillow-soft, the warm, malty pearls held a dash of sweetness. I enjoyed my drink from Xing Fu Tang, and I hope the store leans more into its brand of providing premier quality fresh boba drinks to the community. It's certainly an experience! read more

There's two kiosk machines for you to order and pay at. The menu is extensive and the location near me doesn't even offer half the drinks being offered here! And, to be clear, the Insta handle for the account this Milpitas location is tied to is xingfutang.california. There are a lot of weird accounts with variations of their name attempting to pose as them. Also, be aware that It's one of the well-known chains in Taiwan as the luxury brand of boba basically. I remember fighting through the crowds of Jiufen Old Street (a night market) to their little storefront where they cooked and caramelized boba in their big, golden wok. They hand-make their boba, both the brown sugar boba and the red yeast tapioca boba (though they've also told me it's made of agar?). The texture is a bit different from other boba. They're probably THE place to get brown sugar boba milk tea and even creme brulee tops, even more than Tiger Sugar. They're also the only boba place I know that really does the gold foil thing. They also have some fruit teas, matcha, and colorful soda drinks, and I do like the milk tea soft serve. Which is to say, they have non-caffeine and non-dairy options. Their fortune activity is pretty fun. I'm surprised and delighted to see Chinese fortune sticks here but yeaaaa! I just think it's very interesting how MANY boba places there are in this one shopping plaza haha! Between Sunright Tea, 3catea, and Xing Fu Tang, that's three boba places in this building alone. Not to mention that Chick & Tea also does boba. Not to mention CoCo Bubble Tea and TenRen in the City Square Center shopping plaza across the street. For me, they're generally a bit too sweet for my taste. So my recommendation is that if you have anything with their boba, then definitely get lower sugar levels. They ARE unique in that the sweetness is from caramelization, not artificial flavorings. So I usually go with 20% or 0% sugar and stir it 100 times to really disperse the caramelized brown sugar throughout the drink. Be aware that their boba WILL soak up the tea/milk tea if you leave it long enough. Out of all the boba options in this small stretch of Milpitas Boulevard, Xing Fu Tang is the place to get a good deal and brown sugar boba milk drinks. Ten Ren is for cheap drinks. I got the mango and strawberry smoothie with bunny jelly($6.25 each) because it looked super cute from pictures. The drinks came out pretty quickly and the bunnies were so cute. I wanted to try a fruity drink this time so I decided on the Scented Jasmine Tea with Honeycomb. The size was pretty small for the price ($6.25) and the quality wasn't that great if I'm being honest. The honeycomb was good but the tea itself wasn't. The boba was also not fresh so they were a little hard and ended up clogging our straw, making it difficult to drink. I finally got the chance to try Xing Fu Tang and it was really good. I haven't tried any of the drinks yet since the boba ice cream caught my eye. The boba is made fresh right in front of you and goes perfectly well with the boba ice cream sundae. Just be warned though, the store is very understaffed so it can take 20 minutes or more for your order. You can order at the kiosk and there are several tables and chairs available. I learned about this place while their BOGO deal was ongoing so naturally I had to try them out. Xing Fu Tang is located in a place with a convenient parking lot, and has a very interesting, sort of darker colored ambiance. You orderthrough a kiosk and the servers all work behind a glass wall, which allows you to watch the process of your drinks and the boba being made, which is pretty interesting. Since it was a BOGO I decided to go with the dalgona milk and the brown sugar boba milk, with the intention of saving one of them for a later time. The order came quicker than I expected, with cups that had a very unique polygon design. The dalgona cream remained sturdy (at some point I could see a little gap between the cream and the milk) while remaining tasty when I drank it later, and was very sweet (though I probably should've expected that) The brown sugar boba milk was good too, though I'd say that the cups were a little small for the price that they were in. The pearl to milk ratio was also a little off, and I found myself adding some extra milk after finishing the drink in order to get through the pearls.
