Remember to shake 17 times! First boba run of the year! My friends and I wanted a sweet treat after lunch, so we walked our way to Sunright since it was so close. It's part of a plaza in Milpitas, and it has lots of parking. It's a great addition to other well known food spots like RAW and Kalesa. It's a beautiful bright interior with limited table seating so it's more of a grab and go situation. You order via two kiosks by the wall and wait for your order to be called on the counter. I got the mango jasmine tea with 25% sweet and lychee jelly. It took about 6-7 minutes for my order to be done. While waiting, my friends and I were admiring the store decor and I loved their figures from gundams, smiskis, Pokémon cards, and more on the counter and dividers. So much personality for the store. These types of promotions last up to 20 days, so there will be a limited supply of their game code redemption cards and other gifts, such as printed coasters. For the Wuthering Waves promo, I tried their Charlotta Strawberry Lemonade. Mind you, I still don't know who the characters are as a Millennial, but that fruity drink was refreshing. I ordered it at 25% sweetness; it was a bit sour, like drinking the lemon juice with a quarter of the strawberry juice. I could tell they used fresh fruits, and the crystal boba was chewy like gelatin. For the Honkai Star Rail promo, I got Blade Karmic Chocolate Matcha, which was chocolate cream foam on top of a matcha latte, and Kafka Blushing Blueberry Splendor, a blueberry smoothie with cheese foam and jasmine tea jelly, back in August 2023. The matcha kept me awake, and the blueberry smoothie was better. So sad they ran out of coasters and stickers, so I left with game redemption codes. When I heard about a boba shop with the word "Studio", the black background setting came into my mind until I entered inside which is all yellowish inside. There wasn't really much seating inside but it's quite different because of how they're shaped. Not much decorations though besides the action figures they displayed and they do have kiosks, but the issue is that they tend to wobble back and forth whenever I touch the screen. Also the screen faces at 90 degrees instead of facing slightly upward. So it's hard for me to navigate through the menu especially when I'm taller. However, I do like the boba here though. I didn't get their signature boba but instead got the regular Ceylon Milk Tea because I'm not really a big fan of adding toppings and that it can take up too many calories. Ordered four drinks - two of their classics (White Peach milk tea and Jasmine milk tea) and a plain Jasmine Green tea and Winter Melon tea. Used to be one of my go-to spots, but something about the house milk is really off lately, and they're only correct about the sugar levels in my drink maybe half the time. The last two times I went, the drinks I got with the house milk tasted overwhelmingly like condensed milk in a bad way - all my friends tried a sip and agreed it was off putting and inedible. Also, I usually get 30% sweetness, and a couple of times after I try my drink, I can taste that the bobaristas made it closer to 100% sweetness. Sunright uses high quality ingredients, many of which are locally sourced in California. And yes, you can absolutely tell the difference! The staff is always on top of things and even when there are long lines, they always work diligently and quickly while maintaining the high quality standard. This location itself is bigger than most grab and go locations but it's still fairly limited in size and seating. Quick and consistent! I almost always get the Sunright boba milk tea. Their boba is so good! Just the right amount of sweetness and chewiness, never too soft or too hard. I order online and it's always ready when I get there. I only wish they allowed custom instructions on the online orders. There's some stadium-like seating in the back with a few small accent tables to put your drink down, but it's just an oddly empty space. They're definitely set up much more for to go orders, so if you were hoping to sit and chat, this doesn't seem like the place for it. The workers are hidden behind a counter stacked with decorations and supplies, and you order via a kiosk, so you really don't have much interaction with the workers (which could be a plus, too). I have come here on several occasions to try their refreshing fruit tea selection during the hot summer days. My favorite is their mango sunright tea. I opt for less ice, 0% sugar and no toppings and it's perfect that way. The mango adds enough sweetness to the drink. On one occasion I ordered for to go via doordash and unfortunately the drink did not have the same consistency in terms of flavor which is disappointing. Not sure if that was solely due to ordering online. But everytime that I have ordered in person it has turned out the same. Another good option from their fruit tea is their classic sunright fruit tea option which is also a customer favorite. It has more of a citrusy flavor from the orange, passionfruit and lemon. This boba shop is in a semi-busy plaza with other restaurants and businesses. I got the Matcha Oolong Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba (right one in photo) and it was pretty standard. Could not really taste the matcha or oolong. I would say the taste of the tea was very mild like it was not seeped long enough. My boyfriend got the Grapefruit Four Seasons with Agar Boba (left one in photo) and if you like grapefruit, sour things, or fruit teas in general, you may enjoy this one! It's refreshing, but I'm not a fan of grapefruit or sour stuff. I would applaud the toppings the most out of the drink experience. Both our boba (types) were good, taste and texture wise. For a big collaboration like this, the employees may have brought out their a-game so they are fast drink makers if that is a box for you. The space is nice with fun seating! Not sure if it was because of this event and the amount of people coming for the duration of it, but bathrooms were not open to customers. I ended up getting Zayne's drink (lemon jasmine tea with jasmine jelly) and my friend got Caleb's drink (cosmic apple fragrant oolong with honey boba) since we wanted fruit teas. Zayne's drink was bitter, tart, and sweet from the lemon and I wish I got less sweet rather than 100% like recommended. Caleb's drink tasted so much better than Zayne's due to the apple, but I would also prefer getting less sweet for that option as well.
