This happy lemon location is hit or miss. It's super inconsistent and the A1 is usually decent or really bad (more often the latter). I'm not sure why I think anything will change but I visited again today and the tea was completely clear and had just the slightest hint of yellow. There was no tea flavor and was extremely bland. Unfortunately, I won't be visiting this location anymore. The Newark location is much more consistent and I've never had a bad drink there. It's further away but is worth it knowing that I'm going to actually enjoy my drink. read more

First time at Happy Lemon. This is located at a busy plaza of Mission Square. Plenty of parking. We ordered the D11 Okinawa fresh milk with boba and D13 okinawa roasted tea with boba: its an ok but not my favorite, both taste the same in my opinion. Also had the regular waffle which is the best in this place and the calamari but so dry and feel like it needs a sauce. The place lacks customer service, staff are sitting on the side using laptop or phone and will not see customers that are ready to order. No option for paper receipt, tip is optional but will ask you upon ordering and paying your order. When your order is ready they will announce the name of the order, someone touched my order as we have the same order (no name no order number no receipt). This place is consistent with their drinks. We usually get our salted cream teas and it usually is yummily made. The place is well maintained. I've never noticed it in disarray. There are surprisingly not that many Happy Lemon left in SoCal and barely any left in the 626, really says something about the boba wars down there, but there are a plentiful number of them in NorCal which works out really well since there was one conveniently in this plaza and they still had the Genshin collaboration event going on. My boyfriend and I walked in on a weekend afternoon and there was no wait to order our drink and they still had all of the collaboration event items available. I ordered the Klee Bes-Tea Sleeve Combo. I got this at 25% sweet and it comes with a collab paper bag with Klee and Jean on both sides, an in-game item code, a sticker sheet, a Dodoco plush cup sleeve, and Klee's drink which is a tea-puccino with pink cream and pop rocks and sprinkles. The drink itself came with lychee jelly and boba at the bottom too. The pink cream had a light strawberry taste. Both the toppings made the drink quite sweet even with the low level of sweetness, so I'd keep this in mind for future orders, but overall a pretty standard milk tea. Not bad. Worker was very efficient and polite. Store was clean and there's plenty of seating. Solid boba place. read more

I've seen this Happy Lemon for some time now ever since I frequent the Osaka Marketplace for food. I guess I've always leaned on getting Gong Cha or Teaspoon which is in the same plaza but this day, I decided to go to Happy Lemon to try them out finally! L O C A T I O N As I mentioned, this is in the same plaza as Osaka Market and various other restaurants and shops. It gets really busy here and parking can be quite hard. I would try to avoid lunch time for sure and go on off peak times. Also be careful driving around the parking lot, I've gotten almost in a couple accidents as people pull out without looking or turn into roads...but then again that's any parking lot. I N S I D E It's not a huge place, but they do have a few tables and chairs if you're wanting to hang out there a little bit. It's decently clean. M E N U Very similar to any Happy Lemon location but they had lychee jello topping! YAY so of course I had to get that with my drink. I got a standard green milk tea with no sugar and no ice. ~ Green Milk Tea with Lychee Jello ~ The green milk tea was very bitter unfortunately which means it was oversteeped. I think some places unfortunately do this to accommodate for ice/watering down the drink. So adjust your sugar level here if you want that. The lychee jello standard and glad they have it as I do like a jello versus the jelly. S E R V I C E Service was good. It was during a non peak time and only 3 other people were ahead of me. I got my drinks in a fairly timely manner. O V E R A L L It was fine. Not great not superb, but the fact they have lychee jello is a plus for me. I would have to adjust my green milk tea sugar level here if I ever get that again. I would probably see how the other drinks are and adjust my rating over time, but as long as you know what you're getting into, Happy Lemon's a good option for your boba tea needs. read more

Located in a very busy shopping center and an even busier road to get into. Came in on a Saturday late afternoon and there was no one there. Got a matcha mango and it tasted very watered down and light compared to the others I've had at other locations. Did not hit the spot in either mango or matcha flavors. One of the bad "Happy" Lemon locations I've visited. The guy taking the orders (I believe he has glasses on and is of hispanic-descent) was extremely rude. I was still trying to order the waffles (and I guess they were out or don't sell them anymore) and he cut me off before I could even finish my sentence. He didn't even offer any toppings on the boba which I think should be offered since it's an "upsell" item. My sister in law and her husband also tried ordering and she felt the same way. He didn't even clarify that there were adjustments to sugar and ice (it was their first time being in a boba place like this)-- didn't even bother explaining at all and just stared at her. Super rude for no reason, constantly berates staff members, and treats customers like they are beneath him. Not only was he rude, he doesn't even do the bare minimum; he's constantly on the computer, the drinks he gave us were wrong, he didn't give us cup holders (we had to reach over the counter to grab it ourselves), and yells at staff members in front of customers. I understand that you make penny change at this part-time job but you don't have to treat everyone else like garbage just because your life is miserable. Upon walking in, the aroma of fresh fruit lingers. The employees are usually friendly and they are pretty quick in making your drinks, which I love. It also helps that there's a flat screen that shows the progress of your drinks being made. Mango Boba Green Tea- I got it with standard sweetness and it's not overpoweringly sweet, the green tea is strong in this one. I highly recommend this if you want a tad bit sweetness. Salted Cheese Milk Tea- I like how smooth their milk tea is, and the cheese reminds me of a thicker creama. If only this drink could be made hot! Mango Lemon Slushy- There are mango bits and lychee topping in the slush. It's like a sweet mango lemonade with a slight tart flavor. One of my favorites! Boba Puff Cream Milk Tea- Pretty good, their "puff cream" reminds me of the salted cheese. Not sure if they use the same for both? I was super excited to find a happy lemon here in Fremont! I did find the goodness of this place for the first time while I was in Sacramento but when I saw one here, there was no real question about stopping and grabbing a boba tea! The staff was just as friendly and nice here as the one in Sacramento. I ordered the cream puff boba and it was just as amazing as the one there. It is located in a plaza that shares space with Boiling Point, One Tea, Gong Cha, Ranch 99 and Gourmet House. The store itself is on the smaller side with limited seating. The first time, the boyfriend and I went around 10pm and we were not surprised that there was a line out the door. It moved at a quick pace though, so don't let the line discourage you from going! My boyfriend ordered the Light Oolong Tea with Salted Cheese and I got the Mango Yakult Smoothie. I enjoyed my drink. It was super refreshing and I love mango and Yakult, so having them together was great. I got to try my boyfriend's drink and honestly, I'm not a big fan of this salted cheese fad. For those who don't know, salted cheese is not cheese cheese, like cheddar cheese. It's a dessert cheese that is creamy and rich, and it's supposed to balance and bring out the flavors in the drink. While everyone I know LOVES Happy Lemon's salted cheese, I personally don't like it. But if you are a fan, give it a try! Another time, I tried their Grapefruit & Yakult and it is my current favorite! I highly recommend it if you like grapefruit! It's so good and it has real pieces of grapefruit inside. Stopped by on a rainy day and was blessed with absolutely no line. SCORE!! There were a few gals just hanging out near the registers who immediately greeted us. I stood around for what seemed like daaaaays and not once did I get the sense of annoyance or rushing. Our order consisted of: Black Tea with Salted Cheese X2 Oolong Tea with Salted Cheese & Grapefruit Lemon Slushy Drinks came out in a timely manner and from what I hear, everything tasted how it was supposed to. I can't say I'm a fan of the salted cheese but I must admit that I didn't give it a fair enough chance. My grapefruit lemon slushy was more on the sweeter side as opposed to being EXTRA tart which I what I prefer. Quick take: Yummy A2! I've been very curious to try out Happy Lemon. I was intrigued by the whole cheese topping concept. Looked up Happy Lemon beforehand to find out it is actually a creamy salty foam topping. So foam=cheese! So I ordered A2 which is theire #1 drink. This drink is so good. I think some things are better simple and enjoyed in its' original state. I do not feel the need to add on other things to disturb the black tea goodness. The black tea wasn't syrupy or overly sweet. I ordered a passion fruit green tea with double boba and the girl charged me for 2 bobas when I wanted only 1 and then they weren't able to give me a refund because a manager wasn't working which I got kind of upset but then I got in the car and tried the boba and literally this boba is hitting like it's really good I'm kinda glad I got 2 bobas now, I'll be drinking both of them during my shift. I'm disappointed with this place. This was my first time trying this location and there were so many issues with our drinks. I ordered salted cheese and extra boba on mine. They initially forgot the salted cheese. When I pointed it out, they removed the top and poured out a little of my drink to add the salted cheese. That would have been fine except they spilled the drink on the side of the cup and didn't clean it off AND they gave me almost two salted cheese. I also didn't get extra boba. Right before handing me back the drink, they shook it up, which kind of ruined it since it mixed in the salted cheese. The drink tasted fine otherwise but it's a bummer to not get what you paid for. My husband didn't get any boba, which he'd ordered. They fixed his drink but he said some of the boba were cold in the middle. We definitely won't be visiting this location again. read more

Happy Lemon is all the hype among my friends, so I decided to finally try it out. Just a heads up, I think I definitely ordered the wrong thing or I just didn't like it as much. I opted for the Light Oolong Tea with Salted Cheese ($3.75) with no ice and 25% sugar. I love oolong tea, but I have to say that the tea literally tastes like water, taking the word "light" to a whole other level. Everyone's been talking about this place so finally came to see what it was all about. It's in the same plaza as GongCha, Boiling Point, Tous Les Jours. Happy Lemon is by the Ranch 99 side. Pretty small shop with a few tables. The fiancé and I got 3 drinks, total was $14ish. Two were from the Top 10 List (Mango Matcha & Fresh Lemon Green Tea) and the other drink was a Kumquat green tea. You can't adjust the Mango Matcha but you can pick your sugar & ice levels for other drinks. Anyway, the Fresh Lemon GT was quite lemony & refreshing (I did 75% sweetness, 25% ice). Kumquat was okay. The Mango Matcha was really good tho! It was creamy and had small pieces of mango in it; sweet but not overboard. It kind of reminds me of the Mango Sago at Itea but with some matcha flavor yeah. They forgot the happy! The much anticipated Happy Lemon opening at Little Taipei Plaza in Fremont finally happened a couple weeks ago. I heard the BOGO promotion drew long lines during that weekend. Since I'm not a fan of big crowds, I waited till last Friday before checking it out. I came in at around 3:30pm and surprisingly there were only a few people inside. The shop's layout looked almost identical to the San Jose one. There were only a few tables inside and no outdoor seating. I ordered a large Matcha Latte with Tiramisu Salted Cheese ($5). The young man behind the counter looked timid and somewhat less than enthused. Perhaps he's new to the customer service biz, or perhaps he was intimidated by yours truly's rugged, thug-like exterior? XD My drink was ready in just over five minutes and it tasted great! The matcha latte had good flavor and the tiramisu salted cheese provided creaminess and a hint of saltiness to it. I asked for 25% sweetness and it was perfect for me. Aside from the unhappy (or undertrained) lemon behind the counter, I was pleased with the overall experience. The quality of their drinks has me completely convinced! If you like boba fan, make sure you try this place out. 4.5 stars rounding up to 5 for this location. :-) BONUS MATERIAL: - Limited seating.
