OK so if you didn't catch it there is a new owner which to me makes the previous reviews worthless. That said I took my car there for a tune up and they did everything I asked as I asked at a fair price. I wish the new owner was a little more knowledgeable about cars because I had to make sure I told him exactly what I wanted. What made this experience go from good to great is when my wife picked up the car the mechanic walked out with her and went thru everything he did. I will go back there again. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. We took our car here in November 2018 to rebuild our transmission. the problems started whey they neglected to tell us that they 3rd party this out. Fast forward to Feb 2019, the car has been back to them 3 times already and the problem is not fixed. At this point we do not have the confidence that they can fix the problem so we are going to the dealership. Initially the owner seemed willing to work with us, but now he has changed his tune. This may be my first review that I have completed in my 37 years of life. As with most car repairs, they are unexpected. I arrived to the shop 30 minutes before opening and Wassek (owner) greeted me and began diagnosing my car (yes, before they were open). Wassek was able to work around my tight budget and called me numerous times throughout the day for updates and additional items that need to be replaced. This was not an upsell to get more cash, Wassek was generally concerned for my safety on the road. Again, he worked with my budget to fix the additional items. Over the past two days, I noticed a small leak coming from my car. Took the car back in this morning and was immediately taken care of and fixed within 20 minutes. We have been taking our cars to Xpress for oil changes for a few years now and have always been happy with their service. Recently I was anxious to get my oil changed as it was well overdue and I put a lot of miles on my car. I hope to drive it for a long time and want to make sure I keep up to date on routine maintenance. I took it in early on a Saturday and they were quite busy, but said they would squeeze us in. We were actually happy to hear business was good as we would like them to stay. Not only did they "squeeze us in", but they got to work on it very quickly, and it was ready to pick up within an hour or so. Stopped by at the end of the day today because I was having an issue with my car. He asked if I could leave my car overnight so that they could look at it in the morning but I told them if I did I wouldn't have a ride home. I explained the issue and some of the steps I did to self diagnose so they suggested, because of the late hour, I swing by Autozone and buy a replacement relay to see if that would fix the issue. IT DID! Can you imagine...an auto repair shop that took the time to help and suggested a $30 do it yourself repair. Integrity means doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do. I'm a few weeks late with my review but I had such a great experience at Xpress that I figured, better late than never. After having a pretty negative experience with a neighboring automotive repair business I decided to branch out and support this local, privately owned small business. After calling the shop to set-up an appointment, Jon told me to bring it in whenever I had time and that he would make sure they looked at it right away. So I brought my car in for an oil change and what I expected to be a complete brake job on all four wheels. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call early the next morning (I dropped it off just before they closed the night before) informing me that it was only the front two brakes that were causing me issues. After they explained what was wrong, the work that needed to be done and an out the door quote (which didn't magically jump in price when I went to pick it up), it was only a couple of hours before I received a call saying that they were finished. The part that really made my experience go from good to great was when I got home and looked at the front end of my car. A few weeks earlier I had hit a tire on the freeway during rush hour traffic which left the plastic skid/curb guard underneath completely mangled. I never mentioned this to anyone at the shop when I dropped it off or when we spoke over the phone. As I stood there in the driveway looking at my car, I realized that they had taken the liberty to repair the mangled skid guard without adding some ridiculous charge to my bill. I will definitely be bringing my car back to Xpress for any future work. read more

My older mother was told she needed new engine mounts for $900.00, I felt a second opinion was needed. The mounts were fine but the radiator was empty with a huge crack in it. We obviously didn't return. I was going to just leave this alone ,until yesterday the shop called my Mom wondering if she was going to schedule the $900.00 mount repair! When she explained what we found ,and what he missed ,whomever rushed off of the phone. A direct pray on the elderly,actually told my Mom engine would fall out. I had to write ,after he called us 2 months later hoping to rip us off at the tune off $900.00. This is why the public doesn't trust many mechanics, bad business! read more

After years of being frustrated with my mechanics and moving from one shop to another I finally found what I've been looking for just 2 miles from my home. Wassek seems to have turned this place around based on older reviews. He is very friendly, professional and will bend over backwards to provide great service. The shop is very clean which says something about pride of ownership. They just replaced all four shocks/struts on my 4Runner in about 3 hours so I could have it for the weekend. Labor rates & repair times seem to be pretty standard these days so the prices are pretty much in line with what I've experienced at other places but the service, quality & cleanliness make this place stand out. read more

Love this place they have taken care of my car for several years I went to another place to get an oil change because I had a coupon they told me I had a leak in the radiator and needed a oil pan gasket which would've been $500 for that I took to Xpress they found no leak in radiator and it was an o ring not a gasket and they only charged me $116 they very Honest and always get the job done on time read more

Is there something less than one star? DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I took my car there and they put the wrong coolant in the car. It mixed with the old coolant and created a goo in my radiator. They knew they were wrong so they immediately towed my car back to the shop then would not touch it. The technicians admitted to putting coolant in the car. The bill said they put coolant in the car. $2700 later to fix the fan and the radiator and massive diagnosis by MY mechanic they refused to pay for the fixes. I am suing them for damages. My friend also took her car there and they did not put the oil cap back on her car . She is also joining my law suit. John the owner is arrogant and knows he is wrong. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, you will regret it like we do!!!! Take your car to a REAL SHOP, not this CHOP SHOP. Ill keep everyone posted on our law suit. read more

When the "Check Engine Symbol" came on in our older Jaguar, I was concerned. My husband, who is out of town for several weeks at a time, and was in Seattle at the time of this incidence, suggested that I give these guys a call. They had worked on our other vehicle months ago and he was impressed. They invited me to bring the car up right then and ran a diagnostic code on it to determine that is probably was due to the older gas cap. They were very courteous and friendly. They recommended that I drive it for a while and see if it happened again. (This happened to one of our other cars once a while back so I knew what they were talking about.) I was very relieved, due to the make of the car and being new to the area and because my husband was out of town - that could have been the trifecta of mal-practice by a non reputable automotive repair shop! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I took my vehicle here to give the new owner a chance to earn my business. Wassek was a very nice gentleman and being that we are both small business owners I understood some of the issues he was having especially since he had no prior auto background. I was given a quote for the repairs and sent on my way. After a few days an oil leak developed, the part was replaced as it was not done correctly. After a few more days the check engine light came on again, I took my car back and he advised that they had fixed the issue. This went on over the period of 3 weeks and 4 additional visits before I took to a third party who discovered that a bolt was missing from one of the parts removed, a vacuum line had been cut to gain access to the gasket and they tried to use black tape to reconnect and the kicker was that they broke a $1,000 part and instead of replacing they tried to glue the piece back on. When confronted at the business they admitted cutting the lines and attempting to glue the part back together as they did not want to pay for the damages they caused. They reluctantly agreed to replace the part as the shop manager said he would make it up on the next customer. Bottom line Wassek and his staff were never able to fix the initial repairs or the additional damages they caused. I had to take to yet another third party as the first one would not touch my vehicle as they had done so much damage already and the final mechanic charged me almost $3,000 to fix the damages incurred by taking to Xpress Automotive. Yeah what can I say about this place in Ahwatukee.....nothing positive that's for sure! My fiancé needed an oil change the other day and we live right down the street so we figured we would give this place a try since we have never been. They weren't busy when we pulled up and they had two cars in their work bays while one was open. We saw 3 mechanics just standing around paying no attention to us. One was off in the corner stuffing his face staring at us and the other two gents were shooting the breeze as if we weren't there! After about 3-5 minutes of waiting finally one guy decided to see why were just "sitting" around. He crudely greeted us with a "Yeah" and after we asked if we could get an oil change he rudely expressed that "We can do anything for you. We're busy". You all really seemed busy with 2 cars just sitting half way out the bay doors while the 3 of you relaxed on a sunny day. Look if you want to push away business that's fine but next time don't waste a person's time. I wish Grease Monkey would come back. NOW THAT WAS A GREAT PLACE!!!! I used Xpress Automotive today for the first time and was thoroughly impressed! Brought my car in for an oil change, but wanted them to check my brakes since my car had started shaking when using brakes. Dan was very informative and told me exactly what was needed; giving me options for a conservative fix to the ideal repair. He even showed me the bad rotors on my car and explained in detail about the repairs. Was easy to work with, polite, and made me feel like a valued customer! Brakes are being put on my car as I type! I used yelp to find a local mechanic when I had an issue with a beater car that I was only willing to spend the absolute minimum to get it up and running. The manager didn't try and upsale me, but instead explained a couple low cost options we could try and the first one actually fixed the car. Just under $200 and now I can go back and pass emissions. Fan-frickin-tastic. Oh, and the mechanic Nick that I met and talked with as well. Salt of the earth kind of guy. Kinda young, but wicked smart. I had brought a friend who used to be a mechanic (although we didn't share this at first) and he vouched for everything Nick said and that the price they were charging me was better than fair. Hard to find a mechanic that I feel I can trust. Glad I found this place. Next week I'll be looking at used cars on Craigslist and these folks only charge $50 for a complete inspection. I live in the foothills and passed by this place often, I was happy to see a new business filling an empty building in the area. My car needed an oil change so I stopped here. They took very good care of me and my car and were super nice and welcoming. They didnt have my air filter in stock but went ahead and cleaned out my existing filter to hold me over. Their pricing was very good. They are family owned and operated. Support your local businesses people! I will return here again. =) read more

Very disappointed with my most recent experience. As a loyal, returning customer, I expected better. I saw the sign on the weekend advertising $19.95 or so oil change. Had used them before with no problems. When I received my bill, I was charged $35. When I questioned why it was so expensive I was told that the sign is put out when business is slow to drive in more customers. I asked that they honor the advertised price and was told no. Additionally, I asked why premium synthetic oil was used. I was told that they 'checked my history' and I always used the synthetic. This was an untruth because I specifically requested that regular oil be used due to my budget and, in fact, had my oil changed twice previously with the regular, non-premium oil. So, my bottom line is: it seems like a 'bait and switch' operation and I will no longer use Xpress for any auto services for either of my vehicles and I will not recommend them. This situation could have easily been resolved by the employee saying.. because you saw the sign I will honor the price for the oil change. However, since that very simple and basic customer service technique was not employed, Xpress has lost a loyal, longtime customer. I wonder if they will print this review out and post it on their wall as they do with other reviews. read more

Just revisited and had my AC checked and charged with oil change. Super friendly as always. Price was as discussed. He asked me to come back within a week so they could black-light to check for leaks. I came back, they dropped what they were doing, checked my truck and found....NOTHING WRONG. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I am happy to recommend this place to any and all even my mother. :) I have never been surprised by anything but their honesty and customer service which is way above average. read more

Worst car repair shop I have ever used. Kept my car for 24 hours and hadn't even started working on it. When I show up hours after they promised it would be ready, I soon find out they had not started the repair. They promised it could be done in another 10 minutes. After another hour the car still wasn't fixed. At that point they tell me they didn't have the right part. I ended up leaving with my car in exactly the same condition it was when I dropped it off. Xpress Automotive (Wassek El-rabba - Owner/Manager) went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. It is Friday before the Memorial Day weekend and we are heading out for an extended weekend in Mexico and I simply needed an oil change. Big O next door was not able to get us in this afternoon so I went next door to see if Xpress Automotive would be able to get it done tonight. They had no problem but the mechanic asked it we were going on the freeway for travel as both rear tires were balding and I could see where a previous shop had plugged one of the rear tires and they were concerned about our safety on our trip. I asked if they could pull in the correct tires to replace them and they stayed late (after closing time) to complete the oil change and replace my rear tires. I can't say enough about this shop. If they didn't know how to fix my car, they should've just said so. My car is still making the same sound. We even told them before we left that the sound was still there. They said that the more I drove it the sound would go away. Nope. The sound was still there. My car still needed to be fixed. I took it back in and they said it was something different that would cost an additional 1,600. I had to walk away since I had just dropped 1,300 on the same sound that they claimed to have fixed. I went to the dealership and they told me i should ask for a refund cause not only did xpress auto not do their job, they made things worse. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I should ask for a refund. But of course xpress automotive won't issue me a refund. If you want to save your time and money, do not go to xpress automotive. I went to them before this and never had a problem. But now? No way. To think I trusted them. Never again. read more

CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH. If I could give negative stars, I would. Today (10/6/2014) I drove by Xpress Automotive & noticed their sign "$9.99 oil change". I thought, "Wow! What a great deal." So, I go inside for an oil change. Immediately, I am told, "Your vehicle calls for synthetic oil." I've never heard this before, but took the guy at the counters word for it since I like supporting small businesses in Ahwatukee. I ask the guy how much extra that would cost and he stated, "That will cost double." So, I'm thinking, "No bid deal, that would come out to around $20 bucks" and proceeded with the service. Here is the shocker. When I check out, the guy says, "That will be $75.15." I almost fell to the floor with a heart attack. I'm not a mathematician, but double $9.99 means $19.98. $75.15 is SEVEN times the amount their big sign in the front advertised - Bait and switch big time!!! I am furious and will never step foot in that place again. I encourage everyone else to do the same. I feel like I got sucker punched in the gut. THAT IS THE MOST MONEY I'VE EVER PAID FOR AN OIL CHANGE IN MY LIFE. How much did this business pay to get the "Best of 2012" Foothills award!!?? What a scam! read more
