It's a To Go only place so you order right at the door. It's an affordable place to get your Boba fix plus yummy snacks to keep your tummy full. Everything is fried. Their main clientele are students from the nearby schools so it can get busy during after school hours. What I don't know is if they still offer the rice bento boxes or not. There are some items that they've dropped from the menu possibly because it wasn't selling. It's always looks like it's never open but if the glass door is open then it's open for business. Xpresso Tea is located on the corner of a busy intersection. Parking is in the residential area around the corner. The service was horrible - there was a lack of urgency and no communication between the employees and customers. I should had known when I saw multiple groups of pissed off people waiting outside. I ordered and waited almost 8 - 10 minutes before I asked about my drinks. The lady ignored me, but eventually came back to the doorway (they blocked off the inside, so you may only order through the employee at the door). Anyway, I asked about my drinks and she told me that I have to wait for at least another 10 minutes or so. I asked for a refund because it was getting ridiculous to wait for 2 drinks for almost 20 - 30 minutes. read more

There's really few spots by my work place so I'm kinda stuck when I have a boba craving. Fortunately this spot has really good smoothies and snacks!! Although I've been here many many times, I always stick to the same few items. Staff are pretty quiet but fairly polite. Decided to take a break from work and walk over to Xpresso Tea to grab a few snacks. I ordered the fried tofu for myself and the fried calamari and fried shrimp for my coworkers. The tofu was tasty but it's something that needs to be eaten right away or it will get soggy. I liked the spices sprinkled on top. It added a lot of flavor. So much better than plain fried tofu. My coworkers really liked the shrimp. The breading was perfect (not too thick). This was their favorite dish out of them all. I ordered the calamari but was given onion rings. I assume this was a mistake. I checked my receipt just to make sure that I correctly ordered calamari. I did. Just to make sure, we removed the breading and the translucent onion was underneath. My coworkers were bummed to not have calamari and didn't particularly like the taste of the onion rings. The onion rings was the only thing not eaten. Overall, the food was convenient, fast, and pretty good for a small snack. The service was friendly and being able to order through Yelp beforehand saved a lot of time. As a HS student - it's not particularly affordable (esp in terms of the food and snacks) , but the drinks are well within the 3-6 dollar limit. You get what you pay for. Their prices are fair but I did notice how much change there was on the menu for expansion and it's good that they have variety. My sisters and I came by to try the new Italian sodas on the menu. This place used to be Quickly, but they changed their name to Xpresso Tea and added more to their menu. They now have italian sodas, more smoothies, sea salt crema, and a few more snack items. We ended up ordering a strawberry kiwi italian soda, a litchi italian soda, and a honeydew mango italian soda as well as a thai milk tea. The drinks are pretty good, but they are on the sweeter side. I also feel that their prices are a little high compared to some of the nearby milk tea places. We stopped in for milk tea boba and a snack around 9 pm or so and the place was dead and looked a little run down. Despite this, we decided to try it out anuway. The girl at the counter took our orders quickly and got right to preparing them. The green apple milk tea was ok but didn't taste very creamy, although the honeydew milk tea was good and the boba itself was extremely yummy! We also tried popcorn chicken and stuffed jalapenos. The chicken was good but the jalapenos were a little plain - I should have added some of the cayenne and salt and pepper like they put on the chicken. Overall I'd say this place is okay, but really needs some upkeep because I could see the appearance turning some people way off. read more

This place is a really nice option for a quick snack. There is enormous amount of options of snacks and drinks to choose from. Most (or all) of the snacks are fried, so it's not a very healthy option, if that is what you're looking for. Furthermore, the snacks come in cheap paper bags that get a little greasy. Not a big deal. The prices are very good and affordable, and the portions you get for your money are quite big, so I don't mind if they are saving a little money on packaging. One good thing is that their drinks come in those plastic cups that are sealed on top with plastic by a machine and their boba is very yummy. So, they actually invested in good drinking cups, sealing system, and ingredients. The service is very friendly. I've been here a few times and I have always been happy with the people working here and with the speed that my order is prepared. Just pay attention that they call your order by what it is (i.e., if you ordered Caramel Milk Tea, they will just call from the cashier "Caramel Milk Tea"). There is no identification by number or number. Usually the place is not full, so there is no confusion. However, if they get more popular, they should design a better system for this. It is a very nice option if you want to skip Purple Kow's long lines and you want a wide variety of treats to go with your bubble tea. read more

I'm upgrading my review here, as I've grown to like this place over time. The food is provided fairly quickly and quality is consistent.

A really nice establishment. Very plain, few decorations due to it being converted from a Quickly recently. I do enjoy the constant asian pop music videos playing on the tv, though. They have some pretty good deals on getting combo milk tea and snack foods. The milk teas taste real and the snacks are delicious as per usual for a boba place. I also enjoy their slushes if you're in a fruit-i-licious mood. Cost is pretty regular, maybe even cheaper than some of the milk tea joints around (less than $3). read more

I live pretty close by so I've been a few times now and I'm really glad it's so close! I like the variety of the menu, from milk teas, smoothies, to cheesecake shakes and yogurt drinks. My fave by far is the rose green tea crema! It's sweet and tastes a little fruity, so with the sea salt crema it is so good. I finished it by the time I got back to my place. The matcha crema is also tasty. I didn't really like the strawberry cheesecake shake only because I don't like artificial strawberry flavoring - but I liked the texture and the thickness. It tastes like those cheesecake bits you get from frozen yogurt places. I bet the green tea cheesecake shake would taste good. 3.5 stars. I'm a fan of their sea salt milk tea with sea salt creama. It sounds like way too much sea salt but as a fan, it's definitely perfect. The only hiccup here is that I can't decide how their customer service can be so bad. It's not bad as in they treat you poorly or anything, but bad in the sense that one of the girls who works there can't take an order properly because of her lack of english!? She didn't take my order, but I watched as she couldn't understand what "matcha green tea" was? They just seemed kind of confused behind the scenes while working on making drinks. Maybe since they are working out kinks since they just opened, but I'm highly suspicious that the workers at the Quickly that used to occupy this space, unfortunately stayed put. But I'll be back and hope there's no one in front of me. As I witnessed my first time here, getting a drink takes almost as long as purple kow but there's no one ahead of you in line. Checked this place out as one of the few boba places I haven't had yet in the Richmond area. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba and it was mediocre at best. You can taste the floral note of the jasmine but the tea flavor itself was strongly masked by the overly sweet and creamy flavor of the drink. The boba was too mushy and almost flavorless. On a lighter note, the drinks here are cheap and there seems to be an extensive and somewhat eclectic food list (philly cheesesteak, taquitos, and popcorn chicken in one place!?). The popcorn chicken is one of the best I've had out of the many boba places I've been to throughout my life in NorCal and Socal. Chicken is made fresh, tender, crispy, and flavorful with basil. This place is pretty mediocre, definitely not as good as the other boba places in the Richmond district. Giving them 2 stars is kind of a stretch, but the workers are always really friendly and I love the cheese sticks. They skimp hard on the toppings, way less tapioca then other local places, and they usually mess up my orders. For instance today I ordered two milk teas with boba, lychee jelly and mango star jelly, and while they were making it I asked twice to make sure they put all 3 toppings in both. Once they're ready, one of my drinks has only tapioca in it. When I told the girl I had asked for all 3 toppings in both she didn't apologize or anything, just said if I wanted it that I needed to give her an extra dollar. I didn't want to wait so I just left. And even better, this happened to me another time here as well where they left out toppings.
