Nonetheless, Justin was so precise and meticulous with his job, and I was truly amazed. It was just a simple haircut but it made a huge difference and my hair feels so much more lightweight and professional. I had Justin cut my hair twice now and each time, he's been very meticulous. My first encounter with him was at another salon with him as my stylist. After hearing that he opened his own studio, I had to come check it out. Justin was very particular about my hair (in a good way). He does everything from wash to cut by himself and when I showed him a picture of a choppy A-line cut, he delivered! He was super detail-oriented throughout the haircut and a bit chatty. He even offer to switch out my mask to a disposable one to make sure my the cloth mask didn't get wet while he washed my hair. During the haircut, he got the shape of my hair when it was wet. But I love that he gave me a dry hair cut when it came to the styling which shows that he really knows what he's doing! My haircut with wash and styling came out to be $30 without tip. This salon is brightly lit with an open space. There's only one hair wash station. The boss lady washed my hair for 5 minutes and led me to a seat. Justin was my hair stylist and I spoke to him about the style I want. Justin was honest with me and told me what he would and wouldn't do due to a style being too high maintenance. He honored my desired hair length and made me feel comfortable as he converse with me the whole time. He spent an hour on my hair since my hair was down to my waist. I wanted my hair to be blonde/light brown but had my expectations set quite low. A hidden gem - quality haircut without the hefty price tag. To start, I live for hair washes like this one, if you've been to asian salons then you know what I'm talking about. Except it's more gentle and that means no water splashed on your face but still super clean. Justin listened to the haircut I wanted and I left the salon with exactly that. Justin asked me what I was looking to achieve and also asked for pictures. I was sick at dying my hair constantly to cover my grays since it is making my hair super dry and unhealthy. Based on all the Yelp reviews as well as trying to save myself a trip to 8th avenue, I came here for my yearly haircut (I'm sure I should be getting it more often). 1) This place, while small, is very comfortable to be in and overall very clean. I came to see Justin for a haircut earlier this year and loved how my hair turned out. I usually have bad experiences with salons cutting my hair way too short than I would like it be -- or when they do a bad job cutting my hair. But with Justin, I told him what I wanted and he delivered. I decided to come back to Justin to get my hair done since I liked how my haircut turned out in my previous visit. Another reason is that the salon is close to where I live. I usually travel to Flushing to get my hair done, but I would have to pay at least $300+. Justin is honest about what color he can achieve or not when you get to the salon. He cares about your hair and tries to keep damage as minimal as he can. Had the best hair coloring experience by far. Justin and his assistant were super attentive to my hair needs and understood the final result that I wanted. I booked an appointment with Justin via Instagram--his handle is @xs_justin as I have been following his work for a while. He responded back quickly and I had an appointment set up within a day or two. My appointment was set for 12:30pm and I was the only client there at the time and we finally finished by 6pm. It took a while to bleach my very dark hair to the blonde balaye pink tips that I wanted. The bleaching process took the longest and the coloring and blow dry and style took about an hour. If you plan on going to get your hair dyed --make sure you eat a big lunch before coming in. Justin also provided refreshments which was lovely on a hot summer day. Prices are reasonable my hair came out to be $230 for balayage color, which was a steal! He has a promo going on for this price with a haircut as well. I've also gotten my hair cut by him a few months back since I was long overdue for a cut and he was great with listening to my requests and remembered me from that visit which was a great experience. I've gotten lots of compliments so far at work from my coworkers and I plan to send them all his way! He also went out of his way to recommend the best shampoos and conditioners to maintain my color after the appointment was over. Thank you so much Justin for your time and amazing customer service! I got a haircut here maybe a month ago. I showed him a reference picture I found on yelp that he cut on a different client a few months prior. I asked for long subtle layers with face framing pieces and he told me that he would have to cut the front pieces a lot shorter in order to achieve this. I trusted him and went along with it. The haircut looked good styled but when it's straight, I noticed that it looked very choppy and the layers were uneven. I'm just disappointed because I haven't cut my hair in over a year because of a previous bad haircut at a different salon. My hair is thick and very long so the whole process of bleach, tone, cut, style and dry took 6.5 hours but that was all worth it. Decided to try a new place and was glad that I did! There aren't many reliable salons in Brooklyn and the ones that are good are more like a factory where you're worked on by a million people. It was my first time experiencing having a stylist work on my hair from beginning to end and I really love the results! Justin is super chill, keeps up with the trends, and had superb attention to detail, placing highlights intentionally. The process from my arrival to finish took about 5 hours and I had gone from previously bleached, dyed dark brown hair back to blonde balayage highlights (I did have to cut a good amount of hair because of the damage).
