I shared a more extensive review on New Style's page based on my balayage experience done by Justin. I visited the new salon today for a haircut and it felt like a private appointment as the space isn't huge and he manages everything himself. Everything is very organized and he takes appointments through instagram and phone. Again, he's attentive to detail and takes his time to understand what you're trying to achieve. The first time I came here was for a hair cut and was very satisfied with the result. That's rare to come by. I've never had a haircut I actually liked and on the first visit as well. Have you ever told a hair stylist how you like your hair to be cut and it doesn't turn out the way you like it? It happens to me often, but not with Justin. I gave minimal details on how I preferred my hair to be styled and he delivered exactly how I envisioned it would be. Since I had a really good experience with my haircut, I decided to return for a root touch up as well. In the past I have spent $400+ at salons in Manhattan and Flushing to upkeep my platinum blonde hair, but I'm willing to go out of my way and pay good money for the results I want. At Xsquared, not only are you going to get amazing results, you'll also get the bang for your buck. For $200, I got the same exact results if not better. Even if his prices were on par with Manhattan and Flushing, I would continue to go to Xsquared due to the quality results and proximity to my residence. As for the hair dying experience, Justin takes into account the integrity of your hair and carefully lifts it in order to keep damage as minimal as possible (keep in mind bleaching will damage your hair no matter what so please don't expect your hair to be in the same condition you came in with). He gives you his undivided attention and does not rush the process. I've had other dye jobs where I would comb my hair and literally hear so many strands breaking as I comb it. This is the first time that hasn't happened to me. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend you give this place a try. Definitely my go-to place for any hair needs now! I was recommended by a friend who also got her hair done by Justin. I came in with long virgin jet black hair, and I used one of his instagram photos as a reference for what I want (ombre balayage). He made sure that the tone of the color goes well with my skin tone beforehand which was great! He worked his magic and I love my new hair! I haven't colored it in years and I'm so glad I went to him. He makes sure everything is saturated well, and was so accommodating! The salon itself is very modern and sleek. His music choice is amazing too! It's in a pretty easily accessible area in terms of parking. There's a bus right in front of the salon if you use the MTA! I absolutely love that he is in Brooklyn. It really makes the traveling a lot easier. This is my first time doing something like this with my hair and did not expect it to take 6 hours, so make sure you have your day cleared! It'll be worth it! I really appreciate the effort he was putting into my hair!!! My hair is extremely stubborn.
