This neighborhood spot focuses on Oaxacan style Mexican food and more specifically tacos, but there are also middle eastern influences in their food (e.g. falafel taco). I saw a recommendation that I should stop by and try chicken shawarma tacos here. So I definitely ordered that as well as a falafel taco. I loved the flavors and the textures of both tacos. The sauce were wonderful and just a delight to eat. It should be noted that the prices are very, very reasonable. I can see how this is a beloved neighborhood spot, especially with really friendly folks behind the window where you order at. This spot has an ordering window with some seating located outside the service style is you go to the window and you put in your order and they bring out your food to you. This is one of those areas where it seems like there should be an easy parking, but there really isn't. I parked a few blocks away.

A family member got catering from here years ago in 2020 and I haven't stopped thinking about it since! Fast forward to this weekend, and we had to go! Important: Setting is walk up and order, no indoor seating, but such a nice patio if its good weather. MUST GET: Tabouleh Oaxacan, Combo plate The chorizo was delicious, and the meats were very good as well. I love this fusion spot because they do it right. The salsa they make is flavorful and roasty, with a nice bit of heat. The tabouleh with nopales is phenomenal. Can eat it all day! The staff was friendly and we're timely. You can tell they took the time to make your order fresh. Will be coming back more often!

This place is So Non discreet that if you are not familiar with Boyle Heights you'd Miss it! This is DEFLY ~ALWAYS~ on my list when I fly to L.A., which happens at least 4-6 times a year. My Son knows we either go upon landing or w/i 24 hours of my arrival. These guys have Mediterranean food down to an absolute Tea! From the fluffy moist rice, to chicken that is tender and melts in your mouth an insanely fresh & lightly dressed salad and lastly to the perfect texture Pita!!! The last touch is the sauce astoundingly exceptional!!! This just a place you don't want to miss! Oh! They have a couple of tables for outside dining. We either pick up most of the time!

It's a place where you walk up and order. There is a shaded patio area in front with a couple tables and chairs you eat at. I never had fusion like this before, I ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and upgraded my salad to a side of Tzatziki salad. The chicken was not dry at all and was flavored with Mediterranean spices. The hummus that came with the combo plate was delicious and smooth I ate it all. My favorite salad is Tzatziki so of course I had to have that upgrade and think there were small pieces of nopal in it?! It was a great lunch and glad my friend brought me along to try a unique spot. Vegan options available like the falafel.

X'tiosu Kitchen makes delicious Mexican-influenced Mediterranean fare. It's a unique restaurant in LA. There's a history of Lebanese immigration to Mexico, and thankfully we Angelenos are better off for having X'tiosu here to give us a taste of this food. The kabobs are delicious, the beef and chicken are fine but my favorite is the chorizo kabob. The shawarma and falafel are tasty. The Oaxacan hummus stands out -- whipped black beans with Oaxacan spices, topped with extra virgin olive oil. The tabbouleh Oaxaca salad is also outstanding, made with nopales, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, parsley and citrus. The creamy babaganoush has a nice mix of spices and a pool of olive oil. The pita that accompanies many of the dishes is very good. Prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food. The restaurant is located in a small modest strip mall in Boyle Heights, where they have a few outdoor tables (nothing indoors). There's parking in a small lot and some street parking. Many customers are taking food to go. Definitely make an effort to try their food, it's distinctive and delicious.

Heard of this eatery via Netflix. Chef David Chang featured this restaurant on Ugly Delicious. The parking lot is tiny and there is only outdoor dining with great shade. I was very intrigued by the Mediterranean and Mexican fusion so I had to try it out. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate which includes salad, rice pilaf and hummus. The Chicken was extremely tender and seasoned beautifully. The rice was okay, it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The salad and in house dressing was amazing and super fresh. The hummus was delicious! And texture was on point. Their homemade salsa was so damn good too!! You could definitely taste the smokiness in the chilis they used. I would highly recommend this place if your looking for authentic fusion food. I can't wait to come back and try the Mole!

I read an article in Westways so I sought out this location. Limited parking but fast service. I ordered the combo so I could try a bit of everything. The chicken and beef were good. I did not care for the chorizo. The humus was a bit off in flavor. Good salad and turnips. This location has 4 tables and shade.

Came here around 3:30 PM on a Saturday in late January 2022. The plaza had a few parking spaces open and the place wasn't busy. They have outdoor seating only with 4 tables. Only one of those tables was taken when we got there. We ordered at the window and paid with my card. My bf ordered the combo plate and I ordered the Falafel plate. My bf substituted his side salad with the Tabouleh Oaxacan Salad, which ended up being the right call because the regular side salad was underwhelming. He said the meat was just "OK" and was a bit dry. The food was good - fresh. The tahini sauce was tangy and great hummus. The falafel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also got their pineapple fresca which was very good even though it wasn't very sweet. I think the main downsides to this place were their cheap forks (which had a lot of trouble stabbing through the falafel), they're really pricey, and how they charged extra for their sauces. It was an extra $1.50 for a tahini sauce and $0.75 for extra salsa Verde. You should also be mindful that they charge $2.25 for bottled water (the same price as any of their soft drinks).

I've been wanting to come and eat here ,there a brotherly family story behind this place . I was able to finally make a driver here. They do have the best Hummus I've ever had along with there very slightly toasted pita bread. I had the combination plate,it was a good choice The beef was soft and light flavor as well as the chicken was. I wasn't to happy with the chorizo,dry not much flavor. Rice/ salad was a great portion. Slightly pricey but over all good food. Small outdoor eating area.

The most delicious food I have had in awhile. I ordered the falafel plate and a side of french fries, via ubereats. Every single morsel of food was incredibly good. The salad and hummus was so fresh. The have DELICIOUS, very creative oxacan/Lebanese food here. Very tasty, prepared with care, extremely affordable and not the run of the mill Mexican fair you find around these parts. Cauliflower tacos are absolutely delicious as are their shawarma tacos. The hummus and flat bread are excellent. Highly recommended. read more

I tried this place with my sister in law after she bragged about their chicken shawarma tacos. After the first visit I craved these tacos and THOSE LOADED POTATOES!!! They give pita bread and a delicious green sauce and red and green salsa. The staff are very nice and quick. I've also had their cauliflower which is pretty good. read more

Came here with the wife looking for Mediterranean food. To our surprise it was Oaxaca (Mexican) Arabic fusion. Food was good but not what we were expecting based on all the reviews. The place is rather small for lunching/dinning in the outdoor. Looks like the cater more towards take out. read more

This is a great fusion spot. Oaxaca and Lebanese food mixed into one dish. It's truly unique. The chicken tacos are delicious and full of flavor. They're served with a bright pink radish that looks lovely. A side of hummus is a must as it's flavored and unique to this spot. Whenever in East LA, this is a great lunch spot. Absolutely delicious. We had a chicken shawarma taco. EAT THAT! the hummus is CORRECT! Tabbouleh works nicely with nopales. Got the combo platter and the beef and chicken skewers were so good. Delicious food and great portion sizes. Ordered the chicken kabob plate and it was delicious! Called my order ahead and it was easy to pick up quickly. Parking in the lot is very tight so try to beat the lunch rush if possible or go with some To pick up your order as parking is limited. Overall very satisfied with the flavors and the contents of the plate. read more

First time going there I ordered chicken sandwich, potatoes and different sandwich. I didn't like how they gave our food. They messed up the order which people ordered their food. Pretty sure our food came out first but was given to the people after us. They gave us complimentary naan bread to make up I think. The potato was so spicy gave me stomach problems the next morning. read more

When I read about the Middle Eastern and Mexican/Mayan fusion, I was really pumped. There's Indian tacos so why not something else. The place is not fancy at all and just has a to go window so you'll need to find a place to eat. All the food was really good so don't go too far. That said, maybe I had built the fusion part too much. The tacos were probably the best example. Chicken shawarma with tahini on a tortilla was just the right mix - I'm eating a taco but I can taste the Middle Eastern spices. The chicken kabob burrito felt more like a chicken kabob wrap - solid chicken, tahini, pickles, all in a pita. No rice, no beans, no tortilla, nothing to me that would seem different from a typical wrap. That said, the dish was good on its own, just not the Middle Eastern burrito I was expecting. The tabouleh looked like it had nopal however it was overpowered by the tabbouleh so I could feel that maybe something was different, but it was hard to tell. Maybe I didn't get the best examples, but beyond the shawarma taco, it wasn't the fusion I was expecting. However, the food is good and really well-priced so if you feel like you had good Middle Eastern food cooked by some brothers from Mexico, then who really cares if it was or wasn't the perfect fusion restaurant. read more

I came here on a whim and it was really delicious. Granted, Mediterranean food is my favorite. What I like the most was that it's just two Oaxacan brothers one working on the register and the other in the kitchen. It's admiring to see that the American dream is alive and well. I had the combo kebab plate and I found it to be cooked perfectly. They give you a lot of pita bread which makes it icing on the cake. The space is small and the flow of customers is constant, so expect to wait to be seated. I recommend that they get some wooden benches or a time limit for eating. If you're patient though I believe it's well worth the wait. Given time these brothers will succeed beyond just this restaurant. That makes me happy. read more

Wow! Such an incredible spread! I went here for dinner with a friend and we each ordered a chicken shawarma, falafel, and cauliflower taco. I loved them so much and went back by myself for lunch the next day. The sauces and toppings are so fresh and crunchy. I personally loved the falafel and cauliflower tacos the most, I'm not vegetarian, but if you are these are such an amazing find. Ask about their fresh drinks, I had a cucumber and water that was incredibly refreshing. read more

Delicious food, unique mixture of ingredients, great service and attitude. The owners cook and serve the food themselves. I tried the cauliflower tacos, the falafel burrito, french fries, and agua fresca (watermelon). All tasted amazing. Can't wait to go back soon. X'tiosu! read more

Great place to eat if you are in the area! My favorite is the Oaxacan humus and fried cauliflower. It's basically Mediterranean cuisine in taco, burrito format with salsa on the side. They also have traditional kabob plates. Great Mediterranean food with a Latin twist. It's very flavorful and I always make a visit if I'm nearby. read more

Best eatery in the neighborhood! I used to drive from E.LA to Open Sesame in Long Beach for Mediterranean food. Tabouli is usually fresh and a bright green! Unlike other places which keep their tabouli for days on end. read more

They are VERY accommodating to anything you need. It's such a blessing to have a place like this with good quality food, great service, and always get everything with a smile which is hard to come by these days. The restaurant is quaint and I love the little cafe feel all the fresh plants and decor make it feel like home. There are even a few tables outside if it is not too hot out. We will be back, and have been back plenty since we first tried out this spot! Hope everyone gives it a shot.

Absolutely incredible. The fresh-made chips sprinkled with cotija cheese were so good that we could barely stop eating them long enough to order the rest of our food. I went with the huevos rancheros in green sauce. The sauce can lean a little sweet, so I asked for it extra spicy and it was exactly what I was hoping for. My boyfriend ordered the green enchiladas with suadero, which our server told us had been made fresh that morning. The quality and care put into every dish really came through. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and made from scratch. Not a single dish disappointed. My husband got one of their plates with toast, egg and sausage, sorry can't remember the name of the dish. The sausage was pretty good, not too salty and not sweet but flavored nicely with a nice kick. Everything else was pretty standard (eggs, toast, potatoes). We did get a cinnamon roll (which the best part of one is the middle piece) and he got coffee and I got tea. I got their Sunset Oolong ($7) which had oolong tea, orange lily and ruby amaranth. I am not a huge fan of fusions, but when done correctly something amazing and unique like this happens. My hats off to the talented and humble owners. The falafel is prepared and fried to perfection. The babaganoush was the best I've had in a very long time. Not to mention the amazing tabouleh salad with nopales. What an ingenious creation! Authentic and honest We happened to pass by this restaurant by chance. This is the real thing. Food is great and honest.
