I made an online appointment and one the website there was a quote of 450 square feet or 3 rooms. I live in a small two bedroom apartment and was expecting to maybe pay a bit more for my two stairwells. When the two guys showed up I told them I want the 140.00 for 3 rooms or the 450 square feet. The guy told me that the online price should be 180.00 and that was wrong. I asked him for a quote and he quoted me close to 500.00. My whole apartment is less than 1000 square feet. First if your internet price is incorrect then fix it!!! I told him I wanted just the 140.00 deal plus the staircases. I only needed one small bedroom cleaned and the very small dinning room and living room cleaned. He then proceeded to tell me that my rooms were bigger than normal and it would cost more. I would have sent them on their way but they knew they had me as I had prepped the night before moving everything. This was a classic case of bait and switch. Offering for one price and then Telling me the price on their site was wrong which is against the law in California. Stay away from this company if you don't want to be ripped off. This was the most thorough carpet cleaning I've been able to find in 25 years. The time they took to clean the difficult stains took me back to the old days when people cared about the quality of the work they did. The actual carpet cleaning looks pretty decent. Although there is one stain that was clearly visible the same day it was cleaned. I'm a bit disappointed about that, but maybe we can blame the stain, not the carpet cleaning service (or me for creating the stain, or In-N-Out for not properly placing their lids securely on their chocolate shake). I had an 8am appointment. I received a call (while at work) at 8:08 that they would be one hour late. No big deal, but I'm certain I was their first customer of the day so I'm not sure what could cause you to be late. On top of that I had to give directions b/c the technician's GPS wasn't working, no big deal but still a tad bit annoying. The price seemed pretty reasonable. I got an $80 quote over the phone, although I knew it should cost less b/c of the square footage and the add I saw in the clipper. It ended up being $65 for my one family room about 15 x 20 feet. I asked about what kind of extra fees and surprise costs I should expect. I was told none and that was that. I'd try them out again and see how it goes. read more

Xtreme Cleaning is a carpet and textile cleaning company. They also advertise restoration services, though I haven't used the company for that and cannot speak to their quality in that area. What I can say is, I was moving into a home that had sat empty for nearly a year, and the carpets were questionable in terms of what was lurking inside them. There were multiple types of stains including Koolaid, soda pop, some sticky stuff and coffee -- and that's just the types I could identify. The downstairs was worse than the 2nd floor, and all of it that wonderful (cough cough) mauve color from the 70's. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on carpets that I fully intend to replace in a few years. But right now, the closing costs and expense of the move were sucking our reserves out of the bank so fast, I knew cleaning was the only option for us right now. Yelpers, now don't Yelp angrily at me at this but... I went to Service Magic and searched for carpet cleaners who had been pre-screened and proven to meet their service standards. I had to - we're not rich and I needed a decent floor to live on for the next couple of years. Three companies agreed to come out and look at the carpets before finalizing their bids. The prices were so reasonable, I felt it was only fair to the business owners to be sure they knew what they were in for here, and I wanted no surprises. Only two showed up at the agreed time. Of those, I chose Xtreme Cleaning because he offered a fantastic price reduction on scotch guarding the entire downstairs. We set the date for cleaning to the next day, and I left the rest to Jimmy, the gentleman who finalized the bid. The next time I saw the carpet, I just couldn't believe it! Obviously, the carpet is almost 30 years old and there is discoloration here and there. But it is CLEAN with a capital CLEAN! Not only did Jimmy deep clean the carpets, he also cleaned the tiled kitchen floor at no extra charge. Jimmy was friendly, courteous, thorough and reliable. I had a roofing contractor come this morning to give me a quote on some work and he had a blob of roof sealant on his shoe. Before we realized it he had created about 20-25 blotches of roof sealant thru our house on our rug, up the stairs and into the master bedroom. Mistake happen, he offered to try to clean it with a de-greaser he had in his truck but seriously I didn't want to make it worse. Jumped on Yelp and of 3 phone calls to different places, only Jimmy at Extreme Cleaning picked up. He was at a job but said he would have a break between jobs at lunch. He texted about an hour earlier than expected and came by and got to work. He was done within an hour with the help of one of his employees. They went above and beyond, I asked his just to clean the blotches but they did the entire path of the stains, up the stairs and thru the bedroom. Xtreme Cleaning and the owner Jimmy are AWESOME! I called Jimmy at 4p on a Sunday...and he was at my place by 5p that day! Worked til 8p Sunday night to get everything spotless and smelling good. We had a BAD sewage back up in our house, there was sewage water spilling from the bathroom over into the kitchen and the smell was terrible! Water was an inch deep and full of some pretty nasty stuff. Kitchen/bathroom smells and looks like new again! After, they tested the walls for moisture damage and said it wasn't too bad, and could keep costs down by making some small holes to open up the walls and left a Dehumidifer to run for 48hrs. Came back and disinfected everything a 2nd time to make sure no mold would grow. A less honest company could have charged a lot more and talked me into doing much more major work. I really appreciate how straightforward Jimmy was about options. I've used them before on one of my rental properties where we had a terrible smell from 2 older dogs that lived there for years...I tried 3 different cleaning companies, and changed out the carpeting and still couldn't get rid of the smell. Lousy job. He gave me one price over the phone for a small living room and the carpets going up the stairs and lannding. Neighbors use him regularly. I haven't had the carpets done in a long time so I wasn't expecting magic. Clean yes. Magic no. He was there an hour. I was outside, and happened to waaaa in as he was finishing up and leaving. He gave my wife a bill $60 higher than on the phone, saying the stairs were 'extra'. No they are not. We discussed the $200 cost INCLUDING the stairs. The wife had given him the check so I said, fine. It was short notice. As long as he did a good job. Not so much at all. He warned me the carpet might look not as clean as it should cuz old dirt is coming up. I'm thinking for 260 bucks he could have spent more time and got it WAY cleaner than he did. These guys were very late on both days that they had to do work on our floors. On one day they were actually two and a half hours late. They did call to say they were going to be late, but my time is valuable and I did not appreciate having to wait around for them to show up at their convenience. When they did show up they were no apologies from them, but it was clear that they were in a hurry to get the job done so that they could go home for the day. The price that I got for the in home estimate was higher than what was quoted over the phone even with my thirty five percent off coupon. They also have inaccurate and misleading prices on the internet. He said my floors were not that clean (thus giving me a more expensive estimate), but upon cleaning them he admitted that they were not that dirty. So I got charged extra for nothing? That must have been true because the floors do not look any cleaner after they worked on it. read more

First off, I called to make an appointment and they said that I needed to email them, because they were too busy to do it over the phone. 3 emails and 3 weeks later, still no response. I then had to call them 2 more times to FINALLY be able to book the cleaning. Day of cleaning: 2 hours late, with no call. When they finally show up, the owner was obnoxious! He was very mad that I was no agreeing to his extra hidden costs. It was on his customer service manners and sales techniques that really turned me off. I received a personal text days later apologizing and asking how he could turn me around. I dealt with Jimmy at Xtreme Cleaning and have to say that this is absolutely the best carpet cleaning experience I have ever had. First, he is polite and professional. Second, his prices are more than fair. Third, and most importantly, he works hard to get your carpets and floors cleaned. I've had experiences where carpet cleaners did not clean edges on floors or on stairs. I've had experiences where carpet cleaners poured some toxic mess down my toilet and left it stained for life. The 2nd time I've used Xtreme Cleaning and could not be happier! I have a sofa, a love seat and an overstuffed chair, all with loose cushions.
