Hired Dillon and his crew to build a gate, re-stain a fence, repair some trim around the bases of pergola supports. Dillon answered a call for help originally regarding some bed clearing, planting, trimming of small trees and hedges after ANOTHER contractor no called no showed. That was on May 27th, 2026, he showed up had a crew in the area and they knocked it all out in record time. He said that they did all sorts of work and let him know if we needed anything else. So we discussed the above mentioned scope of work and agreed on pricing. He asked for a deposit as they were a couple of weeks out due to some bigger jobs ahead of us and he scheduled us for the week of 6/22. Of course rains happened for a week of so and we were moved to the week of the 29th. As we grew closer I kept texting him about updates on the schedule. kept getting runaround answers and after thinking i'm going to have a beautiful new gate and fresh stained fence for the 4th festivities and now it's just not happening and the communication started lapsing. FINALLY we get the word that they would be here this past Friday, get a text mid afternoon... " We're still a little behind here ( current job site) and will be there later." We get him on the phone and agree that let's get a fresh start Saturday morning. Dillon, " I'll be there with a full crew tomorrow morning and we will have you knocked out by the end of the day." ( Now I saw a full crew the day they did the landscape project, 6 workers, a crew boss and Dillon) On Saturday Dillon comes rolling in at the crack of 11:30am ( first thing is different from him than it is me) with ONE single worker... blocks off my driveway with his truck and drops the trailer off ( parked on the wrong side of the street no less against the traffic) leaves a single dude here to start work. After 2 1/2 hours of NOTHING being done ( worker guys proceeds to sit on his ass and text in the hottest part of the day) So you get the drift of where this going... Dillon apologizes... says he has a handle on it and will be here Sunday morning first thing and whole crew yada yada yada!!! 10:30 am no one is here, no call, so I proceed to call, no answer, leave a scathing voicemail and am met with a text... " On my way." Needless to say FIRED his ass on the spot, requested a check for the deposit back and was told he could get it back to me NEXT Friday. Just save yourself the aggravation and move along if you ever see the name Dillon Duncan or Duncan Landscape and Tree Services!!! Had he not been a referral from someone we trusted I would have checked him out more thoroughly! read more

We worked with Duncan Tree & Landscaping for over a year on several large projects, including a retaining wall, fence, pool awning cover, sod, concrete pad, and sprinklers. To be fair, when work was completed, the quality was generally average and pricing was reasonable. The main issue throughout the project was communication and follow-through. There were repeated delays and long gaps in responsiveness. Some work that was said to be permitted was never properly closed out with inspections, which left us in a difficult position. Multiple items also remain unfinished, including mulch spreading, repairs to sod that didn't survive, and replacement of trees that were not planted well and later failed. There was also consistent pressure for payment before work was fully completed. After payment, it became very difficult to get follow-up or completion of remaining items, even when commitments were made in writing. At this point, we still have outstanding work that needs to be addressed, and I have all but given up that he will every hold up on his promises. read more

Unfortunately I would not recommended this company for any sort of concrete work. I got a patio poured and the owner was not at the site at the time of the work, it was done quite poorly, and he said it is because his cousin was managing the site that day. It's is very much not level causing drainage problems, there are spots where they tried to fix some cosmetic issues by scraping it after it was partly dry that created divots where water now sits, and there is exposed rebar at the edges of the patio. Dillon said they would fix the issues but after many weeks of very poor or no communication he said he would not be returning to fix the issue and gave me a small refund. I now have a concrete patio that has sitting water in many places and looks very much unfinished -Refund Clarification and Unresolved Issues The original total for the project was $4,950. After the forms were removed and the issues became visible, the owner acknowledged the poor quality of the work. At that time, he offered to settle temporarily for $4,200--a $750 discount--with the understanding that he would return to correct the issues, at which point the remaining $750 would be paid. Unfortunately, he never returned to complete the work. Despite numerous attempts on my part to contact him and get scheduled for the repairs, there was no follow-through. Eventually, he claimed that he had sent someone to assess the job but was unable to find a solution. As a result, he offered a $500 refund for the inconvenience. However, I have since consulted with several professionals, and the cost to properly fix the damage far exceeds the $1,200 refund he claims to have provided. Rather than taking responsibility for the substandard work, he is positioning the situation as though he did me a favor or resolved the issue, which is not the case. The owner should have either followed through on the repairs as promised or provided an adequate refund that would allow the work to be completed correctly read more

I had two concrete slabs put in my back yard and the quality of the work leaves much to be desired. The concrete had to be repaired along one side because it crumbled when they removed the forms. It was patched but looks like crap. They tried to brush the top of the concrete but it looks very inconsistent with deep grooves. There are sections of the slab that are uneven and have weird patterns. You could see lines on the sides of the slab where the forms were which i didn't like. I asked for it to be fixed, and one of the guys basically slapped some concrete or concrete patch on it and it looks worse than before. And that was just on one small section of the side where the lines are clearly visible. One of the guys in charge told me they smoothed it out. I said are you sure? He said yes. He was obviously wrong. Several edges look rough and jagged. There were communication issues and work was delayed several times. I was supposed to get pictures of the slabs when they were done but I didn't hear a word until I reached out a few days later. Not happy at all. And now I'm being ghosted. Don't use this company for concrete work. My complaints have fallen on deaf ears and it seems like they are satisfied with this shoddy work. I'm so disappointed read more

He said he had been busy, yet never called to let me know. He said he could still come, so I waited another couple of hours. No showed for the estimate two days in a row. The first day I followed up with a text to ask if he had come by. He returned my call & he explained he had not made it & would come by tomorrow. I was understanding & let it go. I arranged my schedule to be there the next day when once again he no showed this time with no call (I am sure because I didn't call him first). The third day he called me & let me know that he had come by & to give him a call back to discuss. My time & money is far too valuable to play this game. Thing happen & schedules change but your schedule should not be the only one that matters. Communicate to your clients & stand by your word. Dillon did a great job with our front yard. He completely transformed it. Our existing landscaping needed a new flowerbed stone wall, new plants, new sod on one side of the house, and fixing our rock path. It was a lot of work. What I forgot about was how bad our drainage was around and into the flowerbed. The reason I went with Dillon was because he was super responsive, the only company that actually noticed how bad my drainage was, and his price was extremely reasonable and transparent. Many companies now just asks what you want without examining your situation. Dillon helped me stay within budget and we did some work ourselves to reduce the cost and get exactly what we want like buying our trees and sky pencils online. The job was to remove a tree with severe trunk rot in my back yard that had very limited accessibility with power lines and the neighbor's roof to contend with.
