I've been shopping at Burlington Coat Factory for a few years and had no idea that this magnificent tailoring establishment was located near the fitting rooms! If I didn't search Yelp!, I would never have known. I read the great reviews and decided to give them a shot. I had three suits that I could no longer wear because I had lost a lot of weight and at least 6 inches from my waistline. Getting the pants to look like they fit me normally instead of fitting me like a clown would be challenging, but I decided to go for it and I was pleasantly surprised. The first fitting left the pants a little loose, but once I brought them back, they were corrected in no time. I wore my suits this past week and no one noticed that the pants were once a size 38 waist! My boss probably didn't know that it was the same suit I wore during my interview, 50 pounds before. My only complaint is that I did not know of these gentlemen sooner. I will be bringing more trousers to them for fitting, I still have a few that could be tightened up around the waist... Oh! I forgot to add, their pricing is fair. I once had to pay more to have a pair of pants brought in than I paid to purchase the pants, when taking them to a dry cleaner one time. I paid a fraction of the cost this time, and much more work was done. The store is nice and spacious with good dressing rooms so you can wear the outfits you want tailored. The staff was also very friendly. They were able to turn my dress around pretty quickly, but there were issues -- it was tightened too much so I couldn't zip it up and they had adjusted the straps and didn't reinstall the bra strap loops. I was going on a trip and really wanted to take the dress with me so they had me wait on site and quickly let it out a little bit. I appreciated that they were willing to do that. They loosened it enough that I was able to zip it up without issues, but the front was bunching in a weird way. They were closing and I was leaving on my trip the following day. When I asked if I could bring the dress back to readjust the straps after my trip (which they had done as part of my order, also evidenced by the missing bra strap loops), they said they hadn't adjusted the straps and that I couldn't bring it back. The cost was $70. I don't think I'll be going back to this tailor. My friends have recommended others who charge a lot less and will ensure you're happy with the fitting before they close out the order. So I'll be taking this dress to someone else now to do the final fixes for an additional cost. :/ read more

I took in an old knit college sweater that had several holes in it. They were very pleasant to work with. They made the repairs quickly and probably charged half as much as I was expecting. Awful! Unfortunately I can NOT give anything but 1 Star. This shop has a weird nonsensical name. They LOST (!) the items I left with them AND PAID for. After 2 years of these clowns moving from a broom closet in a mall to a garage to rusty vehicle to a parking lot and back: they just LOST my items! What a stupid business.. They tried to give me somebody else's clothes! Then they said they 'never lose'.. sure, LIAR. TWO YEARS it took for me to track down this circus! They lost my Ralph Lauren v-neck. They also tried to tell me that the loss of my clothes was not their concern since in the mean time my 'receipt' now had an older address. The guy probably gave my sweater to his son! UNACCEPTABLE. Took my suit pants to get tailored at this establishment and pants they did a good job with. So i went back to get my brand new suit jacket tailored to have a little better fit around the shoulders and armpit. All they did was widen the arms to make it non form fitting and ripped the jacket see picture. I asked to get the arms fixed to be back to form fitting and was told thats how i brought it in. Dont make the same mistake i made, going to have to find another tailor to fix the damage and undo some of the alterations. read more

Finding myself in need of a quick tailoring on a new suit this past weekend, I called over to Y&Z and spoke with Mr. Yasin. He was incredibly helpful over the phone and told me to come in right away. Immediately, I knew he was good when he made recommendations on my suit that I had not even noticed. His attention to detail while being incredibly considerate makes him one of the best tailors I've ever had. However, it all comes down to follow-through - you really have to feel good in your threads and Mr. Yasin came through, big time. I arrived and he had the suit ready for me to try on. BAM! Perfect! Stop your search for a tailor and go to Mr. Yasin. His work quality is outstanding and his price is unbeatable. I purchased a suit that needed to be hemmed, of course, and I also wanted the sleeves to be shortened a bit to show some of my cuff as well as expose the tip of my cufflinks. When I tried on my suit, Mr. Yasin effortlessly marked my suit up as I requested and suggested some work done to have it fit even better. I felt comfortable with his explanation and agreed to the extra work. I explained to him that I was in a rush and he delivered not only on time, but EARLY, even with the extra work. I went back to try it on. It fit me like a glove, I couldn't believe how good he had me looking in a perfectly fitting suit. Y&Z Custom Tailor came out #1 in a three way comparison of tailors with Potomac Tailors (Woodbridge) and Kims Customer Tailors (Springfield). The comparison was done by taking three identical jackets (and myself) to three different tailors and reviewing the results. Communication - I had no trouble understanding their English and did not need to repeat my self. Expertise - I noted two specific items needed, and ask their opinion on the rest of the jacket. They correctly spotted the third flaw in the fit. Work Quality - Each of their adjustments were done correctly. Especially, the sleeve length (on my unequal arms) was correct. Price - They were the lowest of the three, even with making the third adjustment. This is the tailor I'll be using going forward from here. read more

But instead they are working about a closet in the back of the Burlington Coat Factory with hardly enough space for them, let alone customers. Instead of the rows on fabric they list on their site they only have a few pieces of fabric to offer. Highly deceptive advertising. Note. I have been going to Y & Z Custom Tailoring located in the Burlington Coat Factory at the Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge, VA for over 10 years, and Yasin, Arshad, and the young lady that works with them do an awesome job. I have very broad shoulders, and having my suits (Especially my pants) tailored is very difficult at times, but they always do an awesome job. I also love how they stand by their work. If something is not tailored right they will fix it in a timely fashion. The only problem is not with them, but Burlington Coat Factory. They moved Y & Z Custom Tailoring shop in a bad location that's not connected to the dressing room. You have to walk through part of Burlington Coat factory from the dressing room to get to them. Hopefully Burlington Coat Factory management will fix this very soon. Y & Z Custom Tailoring shop is the only one I trust doing any alterations for me. You have to check them out. read more

Just want to say that these guys are the best tailors I know in Alexandria area. They are men of their word. I had to get a suit tailored several days before a wedding in Chicago and couldn't wait for it to get done. They offered to ship it, and we estimated the cost to be about $15 to ship, it turned out to be about $130 because of the 4th of July holiday coming up. Yasin shipped it at his own cost to keep his word I would have the suit before the wedding. I cannot say enough good things about a business that will take a loss in order to make sure they stay true to their word to get a customer his product on time. read more

If there is any issue, then they will work to resolve it to your satisfaction. I visit them regularly to get my garments adjusted to a precise fit. Wow! What a find. I was recommended to this tailor by a co-worker and so glad I was. The tailor shop was a little far for me, but now I can say it was well worth it for the great service and quality of work. They turned my suit around in just 2 hours as I mentioned I was heading out of town for a wedding in a few days!
