Ackee & saltfish over rice (no ground food left by 1pm - thankful they still had the ackee!!) & killing jerk chicken //
    Fadda M.

Peeps around here already know that this is the best restaurant jerk chicken in BK. They used to be a pop up only Thur - Sat afternoons, & the line was always down the street around the block. Now, thankfully, they have a brick & mortar, & you can just order your food like a normal person & not like a deranged fanatic w a lawn chair arriving at 5am. Also, they have a few stools & a counter, too, so you no longer have to eat your food standing outside on the sidewalk. Why is their the JC the best of any BK restaurant ? -better quality chicken -the seasoning -the sauce -their grill / smoker Pl note - my jerk chicken here at Al Paragus HQ is still the best - but I am not a jerk chicken restaurant. When I am jonsing (esp when it's cold) - this is where I go. PS - I am drooling just thinking about how good they are. I was just asked today if I wanted JC picked up for me, & my reply was, "TY, but if it's not Yaadman Thing, no thank you".

Tried this place after seeing a review on tiktok. Let's just say it's my new favorite place to get jerk chicken. The chicken itself is really flavorful. You can taste that it came straight off the grill they have going outside, and the jerk bbq sauce is top tier. Service was pretty good as well. Everyone seemed very pleasant! I definitely will be back!

The AYCE menu includes a variety of items including appetizers (broccoli, calamari, corn, iron steak, crab rangoon, clam chowder, fried rice, garlic noodles, chicken wings, spareribs, general Tso's chicken, spring rolls, edamame, french fries, and more) and main seafood entrees (steamed or hand breaded shrimp, blue crab, dungeness crab, snow crab legs, crawfish, salmon, seabass, mussels, steamed clams, raw oysters and clams, and more). The items I would recommend the most are iron steak, crab rangoon, blue crab, snow crab legs, and crawfish. The seafood is fresh, and if you love seafood, this AYCE meal is a good value for the variety and amount you get. There is no limit to how much you can order at a time; you can order as many rounds as you'd like. Service: Service is excellent here; staff are friendly and very attentive. They come to check on you throughout the meal and clear empty dishes. Food comes out very quickly after you place an order. The staff are also nice about giving you another menu to place another order. They are generous with their portions and food unlike other AYCE places that seem to not want you to order as much. Ambiance: The restaurant is big and spacious; seating is comfortable. There are tables and booths that can accommodate both small and large groups. The restaurant is kept clean, and the decor is very nice. During the warmer months, there's outdoor seating in Mongolian-style tents on the patio that overlooks Surf Avenue and Luna Park. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like seafood!

Appetizers- Seafood Tower and Rhode Island Calamari. OMG the calamari is a must try. It has a little kick but you will thank me later. I little heat never hurt nobody. Dinner- we all shared the Gala Apple Salad, Porter House, Linguini and Clams, Lundy's Potatoes, and Mac and Cheese. Dessert- The Butterscotch Sundae my daughter hogged, and the Lundy's Huckleberry Pie. Now let me tell you. I do not eat huckleberry pie, but that one, I could not believe how tasty. The crust was hard and sweet and the filling had the right flavor. Not too sweet or tart. All throughout dinner my husband and my son kept saying how great the food was. It was truly amazing and the service was great, with only 3 working and staying attentive to several tables. I would definitely come back. Maybe for a girls night next time.

I wouldn't have done my neighborhood justice if I didn't pay this beautiful restaurant a visit. I walked in here on a cold and quaint Monday night after a really long and exhausting day at work for my favorite treat. I got situated at the bar and ordered two dozen oysters on the half shell. The oysters came our looking phenomenal with a presentation that made me want to dig right in. Everything about these oysters are perfection. They are fresh, shucked with care so they retain their brine, they are a good size and taste phenomenal. The accompaniments on the platter are amazing. Cocktail sauce with freshly grated horseradish, a cucumber hot sauce that adds both heat and texture, a fat, generous wedge of lemon cut with Max juiciness in mind. This is one of the best oyster happy hours in Brooklyn by a mile and I say this with absolutely no exaggeration! The interior of this restaurant is also so beautiful with soft dim lighting and a clean inviting aesthetic. It's perfect for a cozy date night, intimate dinner or just a casual dinner with a little bit of oomph. Prices on most items are very reasonable, but the happy hour menu between 5-7 PM is an absolute steal! I deeply enjoyed chatting with my bartender Diego who is part owner of the establishment and learning how they procure their catch and personally taste the oysters they serve. You can just tell how much thought and care him and his partner pour in to running a beautiful neighborhood restaurant like this. If you are in park slope, this is the spot you absolutely have to step into. I can't wait to be back for more oysters and to try other things off their menu! 10/10

Before we ordered the Mother's Day special, I specifically asked the waitress if she would like her tip in cash and she said of course! The special was $95/person plus a 20% TIP ($38) which was $228! See photo below! We ordered some other items and the waitress gave me my bill for $252.86. We then drove 10 blocks to Chase to get out cash for her. I then noticed that I was charged $298.86. It was the $252.86 plus a TIP of $45.20! I immediately returned to discuss the discrepancies. The tip that was supposed to be $38 was now $45.20! The waitress then said she would credit my account. My question was how did this happen! All three waitresses stated it was not them and that the machine did this! How was this possible? Not one of them took responsibility for the discrepancies! Had I not looked at my bank statement then I would never have known that I would be tipping her twice! I then decided to leave to explain to my mom! Then the short Indian (I think) than sarcastically stated "Oh so now you're not going to tip us" Really! I drove 10 blocks and I NEVER ONCE STATED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO TIP HER! I merely was going to let my mom know what happened and then TIP her! Note* I was going to give her a $100 cash TIP! Had she given me the REAL receipt with the $45 TIP then I would have given her $50 CASH but since she only produced the REAL receipt after I came back (how ironic) and told her she charged the wrong amount, she would have received $100 TIP. But since the short Indian waitress made that slick remark, she did not receive anything! After the disrespect and blaming the machine and giving me a fake receipt? I decided to leave! If this is how you conduct business then you just lost a great customer! PS! The food was great!

We went on a Saturday in February around 7pm and it was crowded. Like yelling-across-the-table crowded. Plastic disposable cups, paper napkins, a big water pitcher just sitting on the table. Very casual. Very no nonsense. Honestly, you just lean into it. We started with the fried calamari and got both the medium and hot marinara sauces. The sauce is really the star. Spicy, garlicky, so good in the best way. We also ordered baked clams, which were delicious and somehow the only thing I managed to take a picture of before digging in. That never happens. My father-in-law had the scungilli over linguini and said it was great. I had linguini with clam sauce and it was exactly what I wanted. It was not "too soupy" if that makes sense lol. It was very creamy, but there was hardly any lobster in it. We both ordered the grilled octopus. I wasn't a fan, but my husband enjoyed it, especially paired with the lime based slaw. On the side, we ordered the fried calamari, which was one of the highlights. The calamari was tender, and the sauce really made the dish.
