I'm not a Yabo's fan (tried other locations) but I was hungry and thought I'd give them a shot. I ordered delivery via Uber Eats. They're only 5 minutes away so I felt the food would be fresh and hot. It was just bad. Now I feel confident I tried and won't do that again. Yabos closed their Powell location so we visited the Hilliard location today. I started with chops and salsa. The corn chips are lightly salted, crunchy and so good. Salsa served in a small container - it's never enough and so good. Thin but favorable! Sadly, no refills. Hubs loved the grilled chicken Bodacious Burrito served "wet" with Ranchero, pico, lettuce, and sour cream. He has found a new favorite @ Yabos! I really enjoy their Taco Salad. I order it without the tortilla shell. The salad comes with a generous scoop of Guacamole, pico, cheese, sour cream and choice of protein. I ordered the steak. On the table, you'll find bottles of Yaboo sauces. I'm a bit of a wimp avoiding all good items named Habanero,or Sereno. But I love the Lip Smacking Chipotle sauce! I shake some of the Chipotle sauce on the Taco Salad and are happy as can be! Service was great! We sat at the bar, chatting with the bartender. The restaurant was clean with one wall of windows and patio we love to enjoy in the summer! There are at least 5 large TV's, a full bar and a menu of inventive tacos. I went with a friend and my sister and we received subpar service. Yes, everyone was nice but the food was bland, not hot, you get charged for chips and salsa. The menu has some American style tacos and straightforward versions of Mexican classics such as burritos, quesadillas, etc. The menu has many options so it is good for a group or picky eaters. I tried the taco salad with shredded beef and appreciated the crispy taco bowl, fresh ingredients, and flavorful beef. My husband enjoyed the burrito with chorizo. Everything was good, but nothing special. We prefer more authentic Mexican food with more flavor but Yabo's is a solid American option. We tried this place just a few days ago. It is right next to a Rita's and is a small but really cute restaurant. Our waitress was super friendly and their food had great prices. It was $5 for a kids meal and most tacos were between $4-5 a piece and were loaded with delicious, fresh ingredients. My kids tried the macaroni and cheese and the chicken nuggets/tenders. They both loved it! We tried their trio of queso, salsa and guacamole as an appetizer. Their queso had a very nice, light flavor. It was not spicy at all (which was good for the kids since they do not like spicy). The guacamole was thick and fresh. It was also not spicy but had very good but light flavors. The salsa did have a little bit of spice, we loved all three in the trio and would definitely order it again. I tried the "Make your own taco", which included chicken and the "Baja" style ingredients which were feta cheese, lettuce, cilantro and pico de Gallo. My husband also tried a few different tacos too. We both loved it! There is also a wide variety of sauces (some you do have to ask for and some are already in bottles at the table). Overall, we would definitely go back to this place. Such offerings as a Philly Cheesesteak taco and an Italian sub taco. I opted for 3 different tacos: a ground beef, a steak, and a pork. All 3 with a jalapeno slaw. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I could not tell the protiens apart by taste. This was my 2nd visit here and I came away with the same impression: dry meat with too much seasoning. These things were salty. Both times they reminded me of if you were to make the Ortaga taco kit at home and used 2 packets of taco seasonings instead of 1 with not enough water. So usually I am a Local Cantina kind of girl but decided to venture out in to other areas. Yaboa Tacos is super similar to Local Cantina with a few differences. Yaboa offers a frozen margarita option, which is nice. I don't recommend it, though...get it on the rocks. The cheese dip is great but the large they serve is....not large. For the price I expect more. I will say I prefer Yabos chips over LCs... They lightly spice them and it's just super yummy! This location setup looks like a bar food type of place and has Keno type games. Pretty chill and great selections of alcohol for the adults. Customer Service: Customer service here was pretty good. Nothing to complain about. She gave some good recommendations on what other customers enjoy eating. Quality/Quantity: The quality just was not there for me personally. I stopped here to grab a taco to take back to work on Friday, after I had just heard that Hilliard now has a Yabo's. Need to check this out. First of all the guy at the bar, AP is his name was very friendly and excited about the new Yabo's in Hilliard and the food. He even gave me a tiny sample of the margaritas while I waited for my order. Yum! I ordered the December taco of the month which was the Steak n Cheese on a flour tortilla. This was really good and chips are amazing. My husband and I went back Saturday night and had a another great experience. Only tried this place once, but was very impressed. Great service, good prices, good flavor. Mosquito bites are really good! Solid guac, average queso, good salsa. Tried a shrimp baja taco and a couple mini tacos. Our server, (I think it was Robert?) did a great job explaining everything. It's not as confusing as Condado, but there were a few questions that we had. Don't know about the $15 chimichanga, that seemed a bit pricey. But if you stick with apps and tacos you should be ok. Got there on a Friday night around 7, no wait but it was still pretty busy. I think it's some kind of garlic hot sauce, but wow! It was so spicy and good! The other sauces were great too. There was a strawberry habanero one that was awesome as well. Anyways, will come back and edit the review once I've visited a few more times. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that (in my opinion) it's not quite as good as Condado. But who knows, this may be my new favorite taco spot right in my back yard! My family and I enjoy Yabo's Tacos almost every week. The menu is filled with many options far beyond just tacos. The food is consistently good each and every time. They also have a great beverage selection that includes a wide array of adult options from domestic beers to IPA's to spirits. We have gotten to know Krissy and her team and they treat us like family. The service is always excellent. Great people, great food, great service and a great location.
