Honestly wasn't expecting much because this place was a late night pit stop after a long day, but the interior, the service, and the food were all very comforting and genuinely made me happier! I love that they have smaller portions, lots of banchan, and a variety of dishes. Kalbi: well seasoned, good amount of food for the price Soondooboo: not too watery, had a good ratio of dumplings and tofu I saw the table next to me get KBBQ and if I was hungry enough at that moment, I know I would've thoroughly enjoyed that as well! Would honestly stop by here again if I were ever in the area or passing through!

    Freezer burned meat

Horrible experience at this place. If I could give a minus 10 on the service I would! The server looked angry the whole time and she was not nice at all. The round of 4 meats took around 25 minutes to come out, we were starving and the porc belly has freezer burn (see discoloration and texture in picture) the grill didn't get changed even though it was pretty black. The unlimited appetizers looks so sad under the warming light, nothing got refilled on there. The cuts of meats were not good. The brisket was very thick and so were the porc "thin" cut (in picture) Gen is a 100 times better compared to this place ... Avoid it!

Came here for the first time since they changed to an AYCE Korean bbq and they added an AYCE Sushi as well! We chose the Korean bbq AYCE #A $29.99 each It was so worth it! Lots of meat options to choose from! You can also choose soup ( Tofu ...Miso... Ramen ) They have a bar in the middle with japae noodles ... eggplant ... spring rolls ... dumplings ... and ca rolls to name a few! They have an ice ream selection as well for after dinner ... it's all included! Service was very good!! We will be back!!

Happy to find another ayce kbbq spot though when we went, we didn't know that lol! They weren't busy when we go there because it was only 6pm, but people.started trickling in around 630ish. You can order 4 items at a time and some items were premium and you can only order them ayce if you pay for the more expensive price tag (almost $70, more than double the standard/regular price $30). We opted for the regular. Children 4 yrs and older (not sure what's the cut off) are 50% ...expensive really..how Much a 4-6 yrs old eat really??! I think they should up the age limit to be reasonable. Anyway, the meat was good. The marination was not too sweet and seasoned just right. It wasn't overly salted either. Check in on yelp and you get fried banana with ice cream dessert for free. What wasn't so pleasant was that they were not attentive. They would often forget your orders/requests (e.g. napkins, refill your drinks, change the blackened grill!!!, or just come back to take more food orders!!!). They would take order pn the table next to us. But then skipped our table. We didnt even order that much just yet! (It already stsrted sonce our 2nd order! And got worse throughout the meal). Also, I don't think that It was not noted on the menu, but apparently each person could only order 2 slices of LA galbi/short ribs. As we paid for 2.5 people (we had a kid), we were supposed to get 5 pieces BUT they lost 2 pieces of our order and so we only got 3! If you like.beef, there weren't much selections of beef items on the regular ayce menu. Anyway, the restaurant is nice and cleaner than the other chained ayce nearby, but I certainly wish the service was better.

their spicy brisket was just brisket with sriracha on it lol

I'm not sure why this place has a good rating.. I've been here for their AYCE sushi side and I hated that their businesses are separate on Yelp because when we pulled up to Mumu, we were so confused but they're the same place just FYI. Since I've eaten here before for sushi, I already was aware of their appetizer bar. However, they use the same appetizer bar for the KBBQ, which is weird. A lot of the banchan that we requested was redirected by our waitress to go to the appetizer bar. Nothing was fresh and everything tasted like they haven't replenished it in hours. For example, I requested the cheese corn side and our waitress redirected us to the bar. It was so gross and old. The menu is also nothing special.. I've paid better prices at Ohgane or Daikon for their lower tier menu and got a better selection than this. You pretty much can only order brisket or bulgogi, plus the old appetizers. The inside was also super stuffy. None of the fans to absorb the smoke were on. And they refused to turn them on because their floor fan was on. Not sure how that would affect one or the other. I just wouldn't come here again. My brother told me it was way better when they first opened, but this experience didn't impress me at all. Their only advantage is being open super late, but even then, I would rather go to in-n-out at that point.

I typically don't frequent Korean restaurants but I'll say that maybe I'll have to have a change of heart. You get ample amounts of food. Starting with the banchan there were about eight small offerings that came to the table. This was included in the beef Bulgogi entrée that I had ordered. The beef was tasty and I didn't leave hungry at all. I thought the service was pretty good. I was impressed with the ventilation systems. They had overhead on certain tables in the restaurant. I'll have to return again and try something different.

Absolutely yes, you must visit Yaedam when in Walnut Creek. Sorry, I don't make the rules. Personally I think it is the best, authentic Korean cuisine in the area. I ordered chicken bibimbap and the fam ordered variety of bbq meats which were so good. Highly recommend

The sushi is unexpectedly good it's a good spot to eat the only part that messed with me was the salmon but that might have been a just me thing.

There are not as many tables as gen or ohgane which for me is a plus. It didnt feel crowded and loud. The servers were really attentive and kept checking on us every now and then. The great Service was the highlight of our visit. The price is also affordable. 30 for the regular ayce which i believe is reasonable. There are different appetizers, soup, pork, chicken and seafood items to choose from. The flavor or the meat though is not the best, still is decent. Hence the minus 1 star. Nothing wrong with it, it just didnt stand out. Adding to the minus star is the kimchi. It was dry and just pure spiciness. Overall, it is a good place if you want some korean buffet experience.

I will start this review by stating that the food here is delicious! Great meat quality with plentiful sides and banchan to keep us going. Surprisingly my favorite meat was the hawaiian bulgogi, so tender + the fried zucchini. I was pretty satisfied with everything we ordered from the menu along with the spacious interior and comfortable seating. Unfortunately I think the place suffers from slow service. After the wait and ordering it was 20 minutes to get cups of waters, and 30 in we finally got our food. It was just hard to flag down a server and we were left waiting for a bit during some parts of our lunch. I hope this place will increase the staffing as the server to table/customer ratio was just unbalanced and they could use some help just to cover all the customers they were receiving. I am so positive about the food however, and I will probably come back for that when the service/workflow is improved. I agree with all the other top reviews about the food and flavors, and would definitely recommend for a meal if you're not on any tight schedules.

Lunch Combo - Beef Bulgogi and Soft Tofu Stew.. all did $18.95 ... What a Deal! :)
    Winnie W.

Their Lunch Special is available on weekends too at $18.99 only (+$5 for ribs, which is a must get item in my opinion ;) They also have a KBBQ option but we are usually too lazy to cook the food :P Always a happy and satisfied meal here at Yaedam. What I appreciate about this restaurant is their good food, fast and friendly service, and good prices!

Very nice atmosphere Must try Nice staff Good food They have good variety please come and try

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately we had a pretty bad experience here. We went out on a Monday night and it was very slow, which is why I'm shocked with how slow the service was! It took 25 minutes to get us waters and beer. The appetizers that came out pre cooked were barely warm( spring rolls and dumplings) and took a very long time, so I'm assuming they were sitting out for a while before they got to us. The all you can eat buffet wasn't very good either, particularly the pork belly. The next morning all 4 that had attended dinner of us had food poisoning. I would not return, and would not recommend. The ventilation in the place was poor and because the servers barely checked on anyone the whole place got so Smokey I had to step outside while I waited for them to switch the grills. They were also using outdoor standing gas heaters inside? Not sure that is very safe. The only reason they have so many good reviews here is because they have signs all over the restaurant for a promotion for free dessert items if you leave a good review on Yelp and then show the staff member. They were staffed with 2 bus boys and 2 servers and only 3 tables seated, so I know it wasn't an issue of short staffing. Disappointed and upset that we all got sick.

Old clump of rice that didn't breakdown after soaking it in the tofu soup.

The minced pork sauce clung onto them really really well. The minced pork had a nice balance of sweet and savory, although it leaned towards a little sweeter than I personally prefer. But it wasn't a problem at all, since I was able to adjust the flavor to make it more savory by using the Chicken Granules, Cumin, Chili Oil, and White Pepper condiments. Overall, it was a very satisfying dish! We also tried their new shaved ice dessert. It wasn't like the Hawaiian style shaved ice which is based on frozen water, but more like Korean style Bingsoo with a milky shaved ice base. The flavor and texture were both good, but I thought it was missing the toppings. It relied solely on syrup, and I think it would've been much better with fresh fruit or other toppings to add more flavor. It was $5.99 per order as of July 2026.

I gave Imm Thai another try, tried Thai Table, and even Glom Thai (which replaced Sistory), but none of them had the same quality or flavors I had been missing. I also loved Banana Leaf in El Cerrito before it closed, so I figured those days were over. Then I found out the owners of Sistory had opened Saneh Bangkok in Pleasant Hill, so we decided to celebrate my aunt's birthday there. Wow, it exceeded all of our expectations. Every single dish was outstanding, and honestly, even better than I remembered from Sistory. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Red Curry, Spring Rolls, and the fried chicken with roti and Massaman curry. Everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and packed with flavor. The noodles had that authentic wok flavor I'd been searching for, the curry was rich and delicious, and the roti with Massaman curry was absolutely incredible. The portions were generous, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience reminded me why I loved Sistory so much in the first place. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert, but next time I am definitely getting the mango sticky rice! As if that wasn't enough, I also learned the owners are behind Thai Lao Pakaoma in El Cerrito, which took over the old Banana Leaf location--and it's only five minutes from my house! Now I'm even more excited to try that one too. If you were a fan of Sistory or Banana Leaf, do yourself a favor and check out Saneh Bangkok. It brought back everything I'd been missing, and I can't wait to go back.

There is a lot of parking since it is in the Safeway shopping center in Downton PH. Decided to go with my comfort dish, which is Grilled Pork Rice Plate. Grilled Pork Rice Plate: I opted for brown rice for a healthier approach. The pork was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. For appetizers, we tried their crispy rolls. The husband couldn't eat these because they had some shrimp in them, but more for the kids and me. Came with a side of fish sauce, and overall was pretty tasty. My son isn't too big on pho, so he tried a pork chop plate and the garlic noodles. He said both were good. He ate it all, so actions match his words there. My daughter mentioned the chicken pho she had contained a lot of chicken and she likes it that way. She also noticed the better quality of meat and bigger portions. Their special pho is an XL size and comes with the shortrib on the bone. I need to come back here very hungry to devour that or at least split that and other stuff with a friend. I've had their other beef pho, and they were good. Def good quality beef. There was a time where I wanted a certain combo without the meatballs and requested they added more of their tendon and tripe instead, but it seems they just took out the meatballs since there were just a couple pieces of tendon in there. The noodles really cooked within the broth. It was interesting since the broth didn't feel too hot as I was able to eat / drink it right away, but the noodles ended up much softer than I'd like. Casual setting here with the tables, cashier, some TV on the walls, etc.
