Dan Dan Dan Dan Sesame Paste Dry Noodles

The food here is pretty mid, good because we were hungry. It's a pretty fast moving spot as you order from your phone and they bring your food items. I did have a note about the Dan Dan noodles. There was a table next to us that sent back their order as they don't eat pork and wanted to reorder the dish without pork. Right after we ordered, we got our Dan Dan noodles within 1-2 minutes. They brought back the other table's noodles and gave it to my table. It was further proven in the way that all of our other food was piping hot, but the Dan Dan noodles were cold and the bok choy was dry as it was sitting for a bit. It's just gross as I heard the other table talking about how they tried the meat on the dish as well... just super unsanitary :(

First time here heard good things we ordered ginger noodles and steam and fried bao for comparison the noodles delicious flavor great, the steamed ones melts in your mouth the fried one I like the crunch . Service was ok but they did forget to check on us make sure we have water still. Ambient was fine given it's a small area a bit pricey for where and what you get

I had takeout from Dumpling Hours before, but never got the chance to dine in until today! We came for a late lunch, around 2PM-ish. We didn't have to wait for a table, but it was quite full for how many tables they have! They have both a good amount of outdoor seating and indoor seating. Ordering is done via a QR code on each table. I want to start out by saying that we were all hungry after a hike, so between the three of us, we shared: 1) Pig Ears & Cucumber w/ Chili Sauce: I love the crunchy, gelatinous feeling of biting into these. They're kinda refreshing since it's usually served cold with cucumber. I think they give a pretty good portion for this appetizer dish. 2) String Beans Sauteed w/ Garlic Sauce: Lots of garlic pieces mixed into these string beans! The beans weren't the most fresh. There were some stringy ones, but portion was also pretty generous and I usually like having these when I have dumplings! It's a nice pairing. 3) Shrimp, Egg, Chive Pockets (2): These are huge pockets and packed full of ingredients. The skin was thin, crispy, but just a tad oily. I love that they added so much chives into it. Although the skin fell apart pretty quickly - either because it's too heavy with ingredients or the ingredients were wet - I appreciate the thin skin more than a thick skin. 4) Juicy Pan-fried Pork Buns: These were my favorite. I haven't found a really good one around the Bay until I tried these. Usually the buns I get are either too thick-skinned, doesn't have good bun to pork ratio, or dry. These on the other hand, were pretty close to perfect. There was a lot of juice inside - I would say as much as the XLBs. The skin was still pretty thin on the top and not too dough-y on the bottom, but also had a nice crunch from being pan-fried. And the pork was nicely flavored! I would come back just for these. 5) Pork Xiao Long Bao: Also pretty good! Skin was thin and held a lot of juice! Pork was nicely flavored as well! But portion was smaller than most other restaurants I've been to. 6) Dumplings with Shrimp, Pork & Chive (10): These were also one of my favorites. They have their skin perfected - not too thick. Filling wise, this is one of my top go-to for filling, and it's hard to resist a good dumpling! We walked out with our bellies full and feeling great. I can't say there were much interaction with the servers since they were so busy, but would come back when I'm around the area!

My daughter loves saying this about Chinese restaurants in general. If they are rude/have a kid in the corner doing homework, then the food is going to be amazing. Here, the were not very nice, food was great. We ordered the hot and sour soup, scallions and ginger noodles (not picitured, ate it too quick), the spicy wontons and pan fried dumplings. All of it were very good. Will be back for the rest of the menu items.

A small dumpling restaurant that has the best XLB I've had in a long time! More than comparable to the XLB competitors and giants. The pork XLB dumplings were very flavorful, did not easily break, and had a lot of soup inside. The siu mai was pretty average and the spicy wontons were bland, but the pan fried buns were another favorite as it was juicy and the dough wasn't too thick and overwhelming like many places. The most impressive part about the dumplings were their size - larger than you'll find anywhere else! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back (even if it's another one of their locations)!

This place is a must try!!! If there's only one restaurant you can try at Walnut Creek, I highly recommend this place! The food was amazing! The service was excellent and the place was like a hole in the whole. We ordered pan fried dumpling, Pork XLB, siumai and garlic cucumber. Everything was good but the star was Pork and Crab XLB! The taste was mind blowing! The moment Isipped into the soup I was transported to another dimension. Lol. I wish this place was closer to us. But the pork and crab XLB is worth driving 45-60mins!

Happened to walk past this and the dumplings looked so good we had to stop by for an early dinner. Plenty of tables available on a Sunday around 4pm. You order by scanning the QR code. We got pork xlb, dan dan noodles, juicy panfried pork buns, and hot and sour soup. Everything was so so good. The xlb was so juicy and big. Love that it comes with a spoon that makes it easier to eat. This would be my go to dumpling spot if I didn't live so far away

Oh my!! You have to try the green beans!! We also love the wings! We only lived in WC for a short time, and wish that we had found this sooner. In our opinion - if the hot and sour soup is good - the food will be also

Great dumpling spot in downtown walnut creek! Our group of 6 visited on a Saturday afternoon and was seated shortly arrival. Ordering was easy peasy through a QR code. Staff interaction was minimal and the food came out fast and piping! We shared 2 orders of the pork XLB, 2 orders of sesame sauce chili oil wontons, pan fried pork buns, cucumbers, dan dan noodles, hot and sour soup, garlic green beans. It was just the right amount of food and hits just right. Highly recommend the XLB, pan fried pork buns, dan dan noodles and garlic green beans. The chili oil wontons were just a tad too sesame sauce heavy. Solid dumpling spot!

It was our first time in Walnut Creek and we were very hungry, just walking around looking for a place to eat. The red outdoor tables caught our attention, so we decided to sit down. We ordered the beef dumplings, the beef noodle soup, and the garlic cucumber salad. The dumplings were delicious and well balanced. Very flavorful. The noodle soup was also very good -- we really liked the broth; the base had great flavor and the beef was tender. It was simple in terms of ingredients (beef, noodles, and bok choy), and while everything was well prepared, I think it could be elevated even more by adding a bit more variety of vegetables to make it feel richer and more layered. I'd even be happy to pay more for a more loaded version. The garlic cucumber salad was fresh and perfectly crisp. Overall, it was a very good price-to-quality experience, and the service was friendly.

Came here for lunch and it was pretty busy. Lots of tables inside and outside. You order through a QR code and we got our food fairly quickly. We ordered the following: Dry Fried Chicken Wings Black Truffle & Pork Xiao Long Bao Shrimp Pork Chives Dumplings Dan Dan Sesame Dry Noodles Shumai The chicken wings and the black truffle xiao baos were my favorite. The dumplings and noodles were ehh, which it had more flavor. Overall a good spot for lunch and would give it another chance and try other items.

Our 9 person group were all craving XLB dumplings after our Ruth Bancroft Garden tour at 1pm Thursday. The outdoor seating area was packed. Hostess graciously pushed 2 tables together to quickly accommodate us all together at the window area inside. Server speaks Mandarin and she was very attentive filling water glasses, bringing spoons for non chopstick users...she even quickly without me even asking brought me extra napkins when I bit into my XLB and juices squirted all over my face and clothes (always a good sign). They don't offer split/ individual tabs for large groups so we ended up doing family style sharing and paying with 2 checks. Note that the 16% tip is automatically added to check.

My only minor complaint is that everything came out separately. The green beans arrived about 5-7 minutes before the orange chicken, and the white rice came out after that, so I ended up eating quite a few green beans while waiting for the rest of my meal! That said, everything tasted great and was clearly made fresh. The person who served me was really nice, and the restaurant itself was cool and comfortable, which was especially appreciated on such a hot day. The meat in the pork bun was so little that I was chewing on dough the first few bites. The bun was pan fried to really crispy though. I expected a bit juice from the meat but it was just a dry bun. We also ordered the steamed vegetable and meat dumpling-they were mediocre and again the filling was tiny. I didn't taste much vegetables in them. I really liked the garlicky sauce on the table. I was a bit disappointed with the food and I remembered the soup dumplings that my friends ordered for take out were good, so I guess maybe I ordered the wrong dish. The staff was really friendly!

Everything we ordered came out fresh and well-prepared, and you can really tell there's care put into the food. If you're a fan of the type of food you get at 88 Bao Bao, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. In my opinion, it's a step above, with a much wider variety of dishes and plenty of choices beyond the usual favorites. Their beef rolls are especially worth ordering, they're much more substantial, packed with flavor, and very satisfying. Another thing that really stood out to me is the space. The restaurant is relatively clean, open, and spacious, which makes the overall experience much more comfortable than some of the smaller, crowded spots in the area. If you're ever near 99 Ranch in Concord, put this place on your list. Great food, generous portions, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere make it well worth checking out. I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!
