    Dumpling Soup

This dumpling soup was a bowl of salt. The dumplings are large (there were three) and vegetables were included. However, it was too salty. I ate what I could, but I poured most of this soup down the drain.

Sakura has the best soup and fried rice! They also make the best Hennessy margaritas! The ginger salad is also worthy of mentioning. Everything is always flavorful and fresh. Theres a bar in the main dining area and a separate area for the actual hibachi experience. I always go for hibachi. The prices are very reasonable especially during lunch. Service is always consistent. I've been here many times and drive about 45 minutes. It's one of the best in Houston! If the location were closer I'd definitely frequent at least once a week if not more. The kids love it too! Theres a kids menu but the prices and portions are generous enough for the kids to choose either. Located in the Pearland Business center parking lot.

Tahrique, My server was great for starters. Very attentive and friendly. He was also knowledgeable about the menu items. They do have a happy hour menu, Monday & Tuesday 3pm-close Wednesday - Sunday 3pm - close. The happy hour menu includes appetizers, many sushi dishes and definitely a lot of alcoholic beverages. I ordered the hibachi salmon, 2 shrimp, soup and salad included. The salmon, zucchini and rice were all cooked perfectly. The broccoli however was way too hard for my liking. Next time I would ask for it to be well done because I've never had hibachi style cooked broccoli that was that hard before ever. But other than that, everything was a 10/10. The do play music inside, it's not too loud. I would definitely return here to try more menu items in the future.

Stopped in here around 8:30 for dinner with my partner and her parents. We all went to the hibachi side. The restaurant is divided into regular seating, then hibachi seating. You just let the hostess know where you would like to go. I ordered the House Delight which comes with teriyaki chicken and then shrimp. You also receive fried rice and vegetables on your plate. The chef was very entertaining and interactive with our table. You can definitely tell which chefs enjoy putting on a show and the ones that are just there to work. My food overall was good but nothing too great. The soup and salad are good. The salad comes with what I believe is a mustard based dressing and it's just lettuce and maybe a cherry tomato or two. The onion soup is pretty run of the mill. The shrimp was my favorite part of the meal, the butter they use to season the food is the same across the board so everything sort of blends into one another. The chicken was a hair overdone to my liking and led to it being a bit dry. The vegetables were pretty good, mainly attributed to the seasoned butter. All in all, it's a good spot to bring the family on occasion, but definitely not a high repeat value for me.

Me my husband and friend decided to get some food at this location. I am a vegetarian so I am also looking out for veggie options. I wanted to get some sushi so they had edamame, cucumber roll, asparagus roll. I ordered garlic edamame which was good. Wish there was some spice but that's just my preference. When I ordered the asparagus roll I didn't realize I was getting only rice and asparagus lol but then again that's on me not knowing sushi well. The waiter wasn't great. I could tell all the staff were young maybe high schoolers. The food took a very long time. My husband and friend both ordered drinks and sushi but took so long to receive and the waiter kept forgetting our drinks. The waiter brought my friends Diet Coke when we were about to get the check after the meal was over and kept apologizing for his mistakes. The sushi- I kind of want to go back and see if they can make a custom roll something w cucumber asparagus cream cheese, etc but have no idea if they do customize orders. I also got a mango mojito and i really liked it. So overall if the service was better I'd.probably give it a higher rating but again I'm sure the normal sushi taste

    Calamari product

I've been going here for over 10 years used to be my go to spot but the food quality has gone down EXPONENTIALLY. Most recently we ordered calamari and were given some sort of squid stick product. Sad to see. We won't be back

Happy to say Sakura still has happy hour and the prices are about the same, just the rolls are smaller and a whole piece can be popped into the mouth comfortably. Service was attentive and friendly. Seating is available at bar, booths, tables, or the hibachi rooms. Overall ambiance is ok but what detracts me are the food stains on the closed window blinds and the dust on the hanging lamps. I had never noticed that in my previous visits but then again those were more than 5 years ago.

It's giving gas station, grocery store sushi. The grade of fish wasn't very high. I ordered from the happy Hour menu, and was not impressed. Don't get me wrong, the prices were good. However, my cocktail tasted straight like juice. I came close to 7pm, so it was pretty packed inside. But the restaurant had a weird smell, kind of like pee. I also hate that I had to ask if I was gonna be helped by a waitress. BUT when my waitress came, she was friendly. I will most likely not be returning here again. The best thing that I had was a Kirin Light (bottled beer).

Seated right away and server Destiny was very pleasant, accommodating, and very patient. Made my experience more fun. Just ordered Dragon Roll and the Sushi Appetizer...delicious and good portion. The ambience is cozy and good music selection.

My friend invited me to dinner at this location. We did the hibachi and definitely enjoyed the fire-work lol. I got the salmon and shrimp with chicken fried rice. The place was filled with patrons. From birthdays to dates. The servers were working hard to keep everyone taken care of. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was very fulfilling, even the leftovers the next day lol.

We were one of only a few tables on a Tuesday evening and we had very attentive service! Our server came back for many, many sushi, sashimi and nigiri requests. We started off with our appetizers - I especially enjoyed the shumai and yellowtail jalapeño. We put in a ton of sashimi orders which came out pretty quickly! We also put in several specialty roll orders at the beginning of dinner though those came out later in our meal. By then, we were getting full from quite a few nigiri and sashimi pieces - though we did have a lot of orders which probably got a bit confusing! When the specialty rolls (the stars of the show) arrived, we took our Yelp-worthy pics of a gorgeous sushi boat before we dug in! The boat made for such a great presentation and it was so easy for all of our party to reach in and grab a few pieces. The standout of the night was the namesake Yamamori roll - that eel, tuna and avocado combo was such a hit! I enjoyed all the other specialty rolls as well. For dessert I had a few bites of my friend's green tea and was so impressed - the flavor was very well-balanced and not too sweet. I had a full serving of the red bean strawberry ice cream - it was my first time having a red bean flavored ice cream and I really liked it! I found that it balanced the sweetness of the strawberry well. My friends opted for the banana and Oreo tempura which looked delicious. This is a great AYCE option if you are in the Pearland area, and it's worth the drive even if you live elsewhere!

This time we ventured…read moreto Haley M.'s part of town to try Yamamori, one of the few AYCE sushi restaurants in Pearland. On Tuesday evening, we were 1 of 3 occupied tables and received fantastic, attentive service - our server was very patient with us as we awaited our full party's arrival and perused the lengthy menu, which AYCE enthusiasts will notice is very similar to that of Sushi Masa. Before long, our hot appetizers arrived quickly to the table, followed by the chilled/marinated tataki, which helped assuage our ravenous appetites! It took a little longer for our nigiri and sashimi to arrive, but we quickly divvied up the fresh, well-portioned spoils. Note that yellowtail/hamachi is not listed on the AYCE menu, though our server confirmed that it is available to order. Our selection of rolls took the longest to arrive - yet they were well worth the wait! The namesake Yamamori roll and the lemon-inflected Nemo roll were standouts; all the maki were well-sized, sturdily constructed, and tasted distinct from one another. We concluded our episode of gluttony with banana tempura à la mode, a deliciously crispy and creamy end to our sushi feast. While I typically batch our group orders to help out our servers, I think it may have worked against us as we ended up waiting longer for large sashimi and maki plates as opposed to smaller, personal orders. It's possible that our wait time was simply a reflection of their level of staffing for a weeknight; it's hard to predict how things might flow on the weekend when there are both more sushi chefs and more tables. All in all, Yamamori is a solid choice for folks in Pearland and south Houston - I'd come back if they added seared options to the menu or if I found myself craving sushi in the area!

Mine was ok and I probably could have added a lot of veges as my bowl was only 1/2 full. It is one price for one bowl, irrespective of how much of what you add. I'm not sure if she still works here, but the place honestly felt different without her welcoming smile and warm reception. We arrived just in time for breakfast (last Saturday) I ordered Bangsilog, while my cousin had the Tocilog. Service was fast as usual. I really enjoyed my Bangsilog--the bangus tasted fresh, perfectly fried, crispy on the outside while still tender and juicy inside. Unfortunately, my cousin's tocino was disappointing. The tocino was tough and tasted like it may have been leftover from previous day and simply reheated. Either that or it has been sitting in the kitchen for quite awhile. We still finished our meals. Because we were starving, but it definitely affected the experience. It also made us miss Hazel's customer service even more because if she had been there, we're pretty sure she would've handled the situation right away. I waited a while before writing this review because I wanted to be as fair as possible. The lady who served us was still very good, although it was obvious that the overall customer service experience was not quite at the same level as when Hazel was around. The biggest issue was really the tocino. Because of that, this latest visit to TJ's wasn't perfect and honestly made us wonder if it's still worth making this one our go-to spot whenever we're in the Houston area.
