I work in the service industry. And in all of my years (25 plus) I may have had slow service, not so great service, but I've never been disrespected or had my family disrespected like I dealt with this evening. The bartender was rude to myself and my daughter, but when my husband went to confront him about it he was quiet about what he did. This used to be one of our favorite lunch spots. We come twice a week! We have never had a problem there and all of the daytime staff wave at us when we enter. After the situation is "over" the server comes to the table and apologized for what we may have over heard because the bartender was still at the bar disrespecting my family. He never puts our order in and keeps going outside to vape, slamming the door constantly by our table. We wanted our daughter to enjoy her time out before school the next day so we smiled through it all, tipped 22% and left hungry. The food is quick and cheap and like I said we have never had a problem with any of the staff. We enjoy the two ladies that primarily work in the day. Today was shocking and the bartender was lucky that he had a family that was classy enough not to escalate the situation because he deserved it! Sakura has the best soup and fried rice! They also make the best Hennessy margaritas! The ginger salad is also worthy of mentioning. Everything is always flavorful and fresh. Theres a bar in the main dining area and a separate area for the actual hibachi experience. I always go for hibachi. The prices are very reasonable especially during lunch. Service is always consistent. I've been here many times and drive about 45 minutes. It's one of the best in Houston! If the location were closer I'd definitely frequent at least once a week if not more. The kids love it too! When about three weeks ago, the food was OK. The service was a little slow. The ambience was OK.

Tahrique, My server was great for starters. Very attentive and friendly. He was also knowledgeable about the menu items. They do have a happy hour menu, Monday & Tuesday 3pm-close Wednesday - Sunday 3pm - close. The happy hour menu includes appetizers, many sushi dishes and definitely a lot of alcoholic beverages. I ordered the hibachi salmon, 2 shrimp, soup and salad included. The salmon, zucchini and rice were all cooked perfectly. The broccoli however was way too hard for my liking. Next time I would ask for it to be well done because I've never had hibachi style cooked broccoli that was that hard before ever. But other than that, everything was a 10/10. Stopped in here around 8:30 for dinner with my partner and her parents. We all went to the hibachi side. The restaurant is divided into regular seating, then hibachi seating. You just let the hostess know where you would like to go. I ordered the House Delight which comes with teriyaki chicken and then shrimp. You also receive fried rice and vegetables on your plate. The chef was very entertaining and interactive with our table. You can definitely tell which chefs enjoy putting on a show and the ones that are just there to work. My food overall was good but nothing too great. The soup and salad are good. The salad comes with what I believe is a mustard based dressing and it's just lettuce and maybe a cherry tomato or two. The onion soup is pretty run of the mill. The shrimp was my favorite part of the meal, the butter they use to season the food is the same across the board so everything sort of blends into one another. The chicken was a hair overdone to my liking and led to it being a bit dry. The vegetables were pretty good, mainly attributed to the seasoned butter. All in all, it's a good spot to bring the family on occasion, but definitely not a high repeat value for me. read more

Me my husband and friend decided to get some food at this location. I am a vegetarian so I am also looking out for veggie options. I wanted to get some sushi so they had edamame, cucumber roll, asparagus roll. I ordered garlic edamame which was good. Wish there was some spice but that's just my preference. When I ordered the asparagus roll I didn't realize I was getting only rice and asparagus lol but then again that's on me not knowing sushi well. The waiter wasn't great. I could tell all the staff were young maybe high schoolers. The food took a very long time. My husband and friend both ordered drinks and sushi but took so long to receive and the waiter kept forgetting our drinks. The waiter brought my friends Diet Coke when we were about to get the check after the meal was over and kept apologizing for his mistakes. The sushi- I kind of want to go back and see if they can make a custom roll something w cucumber asparagus cream cheese, etc but have no idea if they do customize orders. Service was just okay. As was the food. They didn't have to 3 different sauces (ginger, etc) like other hibachi grills offer and the flavor was just okay. I personally wouldn't return, it was my mother's bday and a family member did a last minute switch. Happy to say Sakura still has happy hour and the prices are about the same, just the rolls are smaller and a whole piece can be popped into the mouth comfortably. Service was attentive and friendly. Seating is available at bar, booths, tables, or the hibachi rooms. Overall ambiance is ok but what detracts me are the food stains on the closed window blinds and the dust on the hanging lamps. It has been some years since I've eaten at or from here. The last time I got takeout my fried rice was a bit under-seasoned. However, not this time thankfully. I ordered a Chicken Fried Rice togo, which was supposedly about 3 oz in the container if I'm not mistaken. Not only did it look huge for that amount, bc remaining real hungry after paying for food can really suck. We came in for an early dinner on Saturday but the place had quite a few people, with several parties going on. Our server, Saule, was friendly, professional and gave us some good advice on what to order. The menu seems extensive. Our final choice was a bento box because it had a several things for us to try. My chicken was quite delicious but hubby's salmon was overcooked, for our taste. (hence the 4 star). Well we met up here for an aunt and uncles 10 year anniversary and it was awesome. It wasn't over crowded, or too loud and if it was a little chilly the burst of heat from the grill would warm you up quickly. I had the Teriyaki tofu with fried rice and it was delicious. The chefs can't even do the volcano choo choo train right anymore. We recently went in around 4:50/5 on a Saturday, 3 workers looked at us and continued walking. We had to go get someone to see if we could be seated at the hibachi table. A young woman, presumably new to being a hostess, told us to hold on while she looked for the waitlist. We were told there would be a 35 minute wait. During that 30 minutes, several parties walked in, waited a bit, and were all seated at the hibachi table. The food tasted pretty good, not to far off from other popular hibachi restaurants. They were pretty busy so it took a little while to get seated. Once we were seated it also took a little while for our chef to come to our table. I believe the group that was sitting across from us had been waiting even longer than us. I do not have any reason to complain just would probably like faster service. I had the viva Las Vegas roll on happy hour special and a California roll and they were both good. I also had a glass of Cabernet and they gave a decent pour. My husband had an old fashioned and it was made properly. As far as the Hibachi we had the Sakura special which was chicken steak and shrimp. The chef did ask how we liked our steak which was a plus because I like mine less cooked then my husband. Rural, suburban "sushi" restaurant lives up the expectation. Service was pretty bad as the server took quite a while to show up to the table and told me they didn't sell something that was on the menu and offered me an alternative they actually didn't sell only to return to tell me the thing he said they didn't sell (the thing I ordered) was actually available. The restaurant was pretty loud and the phone or some other alarm kept going off, ruining the ambiance of screaming kids and bright lights. The food was probably the worst sushi I've ever had. With strange toppings that didn't belong in sushi and created terrible taste combos and the tofu was completely missing all the toppings.
