    Miso Soup + Salad

Swung by here for a casual dinner with my wife and overall it was pretty good! Came in on a Saturday night around 6pm and it was a packed house. Glad I managed to get a last minute reservation otherwise would've been left out waiting. The space is relatively small, so probably not great for groups much bigger than 6 in my opinion. My wife and I ordered the Sashimi Set + Ramen & Stylish Sushi set. Came with a salad and miso soup. overall, it was all pretty standard Japanese fare at a reasonable price for the quality. about $60 pre-tax/tip. Service was a bit slow, but figured it was just how busy they were. There were a few hiccups around our order where they gave us the wrong sushi order, but they resolved that. I also thought there was a little lack of attention to detail like how the green onions were not completely chopped (see pictures) so they all clumped together, but that's just small nits. TL;DR - Solid spot for sushi and ramen in the LIC area. Casual and laidback atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for a solid weekday lunch or dinner!

Still delicious after Mr Suzuki left. Service is as friendly as ever. I'm glad it's still here

The food, atmosphere, and customer service at this restaurant was excellent! I enjoyed my chirashi without salmon and tuna due to food allergies and with salad and Canada Dry ginger ale for dinner.

Sushi was good and the menu had a lot of good options I wanted to try. But it's not amazing enough to want to come back to anytime soon as I didn't find any of the sushi dishes particularly unique. The staff is super attentive and sweet. Prices are kind of high.

Suzuki decided to retire and welcome the new Chef, Mr. Yanagi! So glad we can continue eating here because what would we do without Japanese food? Yum yum! The Chef has been handling fish for many years, so he's just as talented as Suzuki-San, but younger. Everything is so fresh, and the fish is happy to be here. Keep the consistency and keep the customers happy! We love it! It's the same place as Suzuki, so it can accommodate about 20-30 people, including the sushi bar. They also offer seasonal specials à la carte! It's awesome! Must-have! Highly recommended!

Excellent-quality sushi in a cozy neighborhood setting! Yanagi is continuing the legacy of Suzuki Shokudo, retaining the same vibes and even waitstaff. Once you have the sushi here, it's hard to go back to the lesser quality spots. The fish is delicious. This is a place where you will often hear Japanese being spoken not only by the staff but the customers as well, a sure sign that you are getting authenticity! So happy this spot is open again.

OK. This won't take long. Fabulous…read more Fabulous meal and fabulous service tonight (Sunday). Three of us came at 6:30 pm and were promptly welcomed. I ordered the Dinner sushi combination D - tuna, salmon and white tuna. It came with a not-so-small small garden salad in a decent dressing. One of my table mates got the Bento box with teriyaki salmon and the other got two rolls (Spicy Girl and Cucumber, Avocado, Jalapeño and Scallion). We also ordered a shrimp shumai appetizer (six small, tasty shumai in the serving). Everything was delicious. And the service was outstanding. To be honest, initially we thought we were being rushed because the server came by repeatedly to remove empty plates and the wrappers from our chopsticks - but we quickly realized that this was really extremely attentive and great service. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were refilled numerous times and we were not rushed at all. After our leisurely meal, we ordered a Green Tea Mille Crepe and an order of fresh fruit. The crepe was very good, although the topping of green tea was a bit thick for us and we scraped it off and ate the rest. The fruit was fresh and delicious. We truly felt very welcomed and valued as customers here. We didn't drink anything other than water, so our bill was only about $100 (before tip) for the 2 hours we were there, but even as we left we felt valued by the serving staff and sushi chefs. An excellent meal and experience.

Stumbled upon this place that is Michelin guide recommended! And we totally understand why (as did…read moreeveryone else in line). Got seated at the bar after lining up ~15min before opening on a Friday morning. Smoked dashi ramen was AMAZING. The broth had so much seafoody depth, which makes sense considering we found many clams in our bowl as well! It was a bit lighter than a tonkatsu broth, but a bit heavier than a shoyu-base. The noodles were the perfect bouncy texture as well. Yuzu highball: A great refreshing complement to the heavier soup broth. Great vibes all around.

Really delicious ramen! Walked in on a weekend night and waited about 60 minutes to get seated…read more Once we were seated though, the service was very fast and efficient. We tried the smoked dashi ramen and spicy tan tan ramen. Both were great. I enjoyed the subtle smokiness of the dashi broth and thought it paired well with the clams. It definitely felt more unique compared to a traditional ramen. The spicy tan tan ramen had a much bolder and classic flavor profile. The pork was tender but not fatty. We also shared the matcha kakigori, which I may have enjoyed even more than the ramen because the matcha flavor was so strong! There is also a red bean filling in the middle. They also offer a selection of signature cocktails. We tried the yuzu margarita, which was refreshing, and the Japanese cocktail, which I liked for the fresh celery and elderflower flavors. Overall, a great spot that is worth checking out. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance if you want to avoid the long wait.
