I had such a blast at this omakase place located inside a bougie food court in LIC! It is a small intimate bar that can seat maybe 5 or 6 peoole max. The owner is so kind and helped make my birthday dinner a special experience. Each piece was carefully thought out and served with generous cuts of fresh fish. The toro was my favorite but the uni was also a standout. Excellent sake selection as well. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon.

We came here to celebrate a birthday and ordered the 15-course omakase. The space is very cozy with a U-shaped counter, allowing everyone to watch the chef at work while still being able to chat with each other -- it made the experience feel intimate and fun. The fish was extremely fresh, and the uni was a standout. It was generously filled with uni, incredibly rich, and so satisfying. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout the meal, which really added to the overall experience. I genuinely had a great time here. They also have another location in Midtown East, which is even more convenient. I'll definitely be back -- either to return here or to try their other location.

My friend and I were looking for an Omakase spot in Queens and decided to try this new restaurant in LIC. It's located in one of the newer developments, and since I don't often make it out here, I was excited to give it a try. Food: 3.5/5 We went with the $100 Omakase menu and added two extras: the toro hand roll (included in the $69 set but surprisingly not the $100 one) and an extra bite of hamachi. All in, the bill came to just under $300 (with tip), which isn't outrageous for Omakase in NYC, but I expected a bit more consistency in quality. Some highlights: the little bowl of rice, ikura, and uni was a standout dish -- flavorful, balanced, and truly memorable. On the other hand, their "ocean trout" (served instead of king salmon) with foie gras was a huge miss for me. It tasted overwhelmingly oily, like eating a mouthful of oil, and was easily my least favorite bite of the night. Overall, I think the $69 menu with some add-ons would probably be the better value. Service & Ambiance: 2.5/5 Service was fine -- attentive without being overbearing. The bigger issue was the ambiance. The party seated across from us spent most of the meal on FaceTime with a friend, talking loudly and disrupting what should have been a quiet, elevated dining experience. I understand the staff not wanting to interfere, but it definitely soured my meal. Once that group left, the atmosphere was much better, but by then the moment had passed. All in all, Omakase is already such a privileged experience, and I feel it should be treated with a certain level of respect -- both by guests and staff in maintaining the mood. While convenient if you're in LIC, I don't think I'd return. With Manhattan just a few minutes away, there are better-value and higher-quality Omakase spots worth the trip.

Y'all, this hidden gem truly deserves recognition. The food is incredibly delicious, and the service is exceptional. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of the experience. I'm definitely bringing my friends back, and I highly recommend the 17-course meal--it's truly worth it. This place is perfect for a special date night. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough.

My wife and I visited again last night, and despite the crazy traffic coming in from New Jersey -- which made us 38 minutes late -- they still graciously welcomed us. Eddie and Owen are absolutely crushing it. We also had the pleasure of meeting two amazing gentlemen, Peter and Dimitry from Astoria, who are repeat guests as well, and we ended up having a wonderful conversation throughout the evening. The sushi just kept coming and coming -- each piece somehow better than the last. Consistency, hospitality, creativity, and quality all at the highest level. Keep up the great work. Truly a special experience every time.

This is by far the most worth omakase experience that I've had in New York so far, and would be the only one I would be willing to come back to! Located in LIC, this is a newer omakase spot resides in The Factory (although there is also apparently a location in Midtown East as well!). I came here for lunch one day and was fortunately able to try their 13 course omakase set (apparently they typically don't typically do omakase for lunch, but the staff was able to accommodate!). For ~$70pp and with the quality that we got, this was unbeatable. Service here was great, and the chefs were so friendly to talk to. Each piece that I tried was fresh, delectable, and very high quality. While some of their pieces were more traditional and simple, such as the matai and ebi we tried, they also had some unique pieces. My favorites of the meal were their torched salmon with foie gras; otoro with uni and caviar; and their buttered toast with toro, charred onion, scallop, and caviar (my favorite!!). I also loved their tofu pudding that they ended the meal with. Would love to come back to try their 17 course for dinner!

Great omakase! A really small shop inside a food hall. With only two options on the menu, 13 or 17 course. We went with the 17, which had 3 appetizers, 13 nigiri, and mochi ice cream for dessert. The staff is friendly and attentive. Chefs did an excellent job in preparation and presentation. We had a bit of everything you would expect from omakase. Fresh fish, uni, Ikura, Wagyu, and in the end you got to pick your favorite piece to have again. If I had to be a bit picky about something it would be the rice in the nigiri, needed a little more vinegar. At $100 for omakase it's a good deal. It's a place we would visit again for sure. Go give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Felt like the adjustments they made the past half a year really made all the difference. The courses were more or less the same as the first time I came, with the exception of the miso cod (cooked to perfection, might I add) and maybe a few nigiri pieces (depending on what's in season). Each nigiri tasted fresh, with none of them seemingly frozen this time. There was more consistency this time around with each piece. I really appreciated the effort the chef put into each course; he made sure that we thoroughly enjoyed our experience the entire way. My boyfriend was initially concerned that I've already tried this spot, but was relieved I actually enjoyed my experience this time more than the last.

Had a delicious dinner here on a Friday night! It was my first time visiting Omakase Osukaa and had a great experience with the staff and great food. Loved the clean and pretty decor - perfect for date night. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Friday night, so would recommend to make a reservation before coming. We got the 13-course omakase with two additional add-ons at the end. The 13 courses came with a variety of fishes and flavors, with dessert at the end. We added on a yellowtail and toro uni caviar toast. Delicious and would recommend!

A fairly new hole in the wall 12 seat omakase spot in LIC. Located inside The Factory building along with a few other small restaurants/establishments. We opted for the 17 pieces which came with two appetizers, 14 nigiri and a dessert at the end. The chef was pleasant, interactive and pretty generous on the uni, caviar and foie gras. Each piece was fresh and unique- while some were ordinary, others had their own twist. I'd like to come back and try their lunch menu if I am ever around the area again.

    Jessica T.

Simply sublime. I come here once a week without fail--it's become a sacred ritual. I absolutely love the team, the chef, and everyone who makes this place so special. The quality of the sushi is consistently outstanding--fresh, delicate, and full of flavor. Every piece is a work of art, both in taste and in presentation. If you haven't been yet, please do yourself a favor and go. It's an experience that stays with you.

Made reservations for 4 for Monday to try the 17 course omakase for $99. Service is excellent. The chef explained the menu options. You can order 13 or 17 chefs choice omakase or ala carte. You can add on in the end also. The restaurant is located inside The Factory in LIC and there's plenty of parking in the evening. Seats maximum 12 people and we were not rushed. The sushi is fresh and seasoned perfectly. My favorites include the king salmon foie gras, wagyu foie gras, the foie gras toast, Hokkaido uni, yellowtail, scallop yuzu, ebi shrimp, Chu toro , and the milk pudding. They've only been open for 2 months but it's certainly a great place to try. They've only also have a Midtown location that just opened 2 weeks ago.

    Becky L.

Located in an industrial factory building, omakase Osukaa is a hole in the wall! It was my husband's birthday and we had the option of 13 courses for $69 or 17 courses for $99. The 13 courses apparently didn't include wagyu pieces so we chose the 17 courses. The restaurant wasn't busy so it felt like we had a nice private meal. Some favorite pieces included the oyster in the beginning, the Hokkaido uni, scallop with yuzu jelly, and the otoro with uni, caviar and gold flakes. My only complaint was that there was too much wasabi in some pieces that overpowered the other flavors and fish. Overall, I thought it was a great experience for a great price! Street parking is easy to find and reservations are easy to book through Resy. I would recommend trying this place out :)

Dashi Okume sells ... you guessed it ... dashi. They sell several kinds, and you can taste all of them there in the shop before deciding which to take home with you (I tried them all and went home with one bag of vegetable dashi and one bag of sweet shellfish dashi). They also make custom-made dashi. You can choose from around 30 ingredients - dried fish, seaweed, mushrooms, and vegetables. They grind it up and put into individual bags for you. Such a fun idea, but I thought I should try some of their pre-made dashi options before creating mine own. They also sell miso, rice, noodles, rice seasoning, seaweed, tea, and other items. I picked up some Japanese mustard, seaweed, and rice seasoning to take home with my dashi. Beyond being a great shop, they also have a cafe area where they offer a teishoku set meal - you pick your fish, which comes with tea, rice, miso soup, pickles, and sides. They also offer an omakase popup. The shop is beautiful, and the service was very friendly and helpful. I'll certainly return for more shopping but next time I plan to make a meal of it and try their teishoku set.

Simple and satisfying on the food front, for the 2 of us, the cost was about $110. So not a cheap meal, but good food. The vibe though was a little different from what I was expecting. I went in thinking restaurant and what I got was more of a market atmosphere. While you are eating, people are walking around shopping and browsing, and there are products displayed and sold throughout the space. Not exactly my ideal setting for a sit down meal, but it works well enough for a casual weekend afternoon stop. One of the highlights beyond the food were the soup broths and dried flake samples they had available to try at Dashi Okume. We worked our way through most of them and they were genuinely delicious. My wife liked them enough to buy one to use as a miso soup base at home, which says a lot. They also carry items for cats, which was a fun little surprise. As for the place itself, Dashi Okume is located on Norman Avenue and operates as a collective, meaning it is not one single business but rather a shared space where multiple different vendors and businesses come together under one roof. That explains the market within a restaurant feeling. Overall Dashi Okume is a worthwhile stop, especially if you enjoy exploring and sampling along the way. Just go in knowing it is more of a hybrid experience than a traditional sit down meal.
