Love Tamashii!!! Good service, cute location, great to eat in or for pick up. I really like that they have a good vegetarian portion menu. In a ramen phase right now and can't get enough of this place!

Stopped in for lunch at around 3pm on a Saturday and it was empty. The Karaage Don is my go-to. I have visited the Tamashii locations in Forest Hills and Bayside and they make this bowl differently than LIC (this location), which is a little odd to me. I would say that I prefer the other locations' style of making it. The chicken is still good, but they don't have one of the sauces and their lettuce isn't shredded like it is at their other locations. This dish alone would get 3.5 stars from me. The takoyaki was delish as always! Staff was sweet and attentive. The place got a little busier as I was eating, lots of single diners (like myself) so no worries about eating alone. There is also an 8% discount if you pay with cash.

Came here for lunch and was looking forward to the Tsukemen ramen -- not many in NYC, as most is traditional ramen. We ordered 2 tsukemen, 2 ramen and a curry katsu to share as an appetizer. Tsukemen -- Shoyu and Tamashii tasted similar and the broth was not hot enough to dip the cold noodles in. Also, the pork belly was really tough. Meh. Ramens -- decent. Better than the Tsukemen but not better than most other ramen joints Katsu curry -- over fried so it was not juicy and meat was tough. Service was mediocre. Guy was obviously anddeliberately looking down when we raised our hand to order a little more. Inside decorations looked nice.

We came here for lunch and was seated quickly ! I ordered the Kara-age and the tamashii ramen. The Kara-age was pretty yummy - I would order again. The ramen lacked an umami flavor in the broth. It was ok and satisfy ramen cravings but the broth needed a little something something.

Ambiance (4/5): It's a long hall with several tables on one side. The decorations are bit sparse with their menu items on the wall. The background music was spot on for some good tunes. Service (5/5): Despite our late dining hour of 9pm, there were still at least 3 parties seated. The service was great for being empty. Food (3/5): The prices were were very affordable at ~$14 for most of their ramen bowls and generous noodle portion. I opted for an extra 2 pieces for $4. The Charsu pork was a perfect ratio of fat to meat and cooked to a juicy tender fall-apart bite. They did this very well! I ordered the tantan ramen and the noodles were cooked per my request to be more firm! I was let down that there was a bit of umami lacking in the broth. There were very meager pieces of ground pork in the ramen so I was thankful I ordered the extra side. Kara ramen - spicy decent flavor, a bit more than the TanTan. Shoyuramen - flavorful but still did not meet my expectations for ramen. All 3 ramen bowls were just okay! Note that the matcha latte is pre-bought bottle (not freshly made in house)

Pretty decent ramen spot, I'd give it 3.5. Takoyaki was kind of soft and the octopus chunks were very small. I wish they had marinated the egg longer (or at all). The shredded seaweed got kind of mushy, it would have tasted better as a sheet. Broth was good, noodles were classic thin noodles, and pork was tasty. Service was quick and nice. Music was a bit loud and very 2000s.

Brought my cousins to this place on a Saturday afternoon and we were able to seat right away. 4/5 - Ordered the Miso Ramen, it was hearty, delicious and huge. Perfect for the weather, would order again. 3/5 - the Pork Buns are passable I feel like I should have ordered something else. It was okay. 5/5 Service - Attentive and always refilling our waters. Overall, great spot if you don't have time for reservations and looking for an affordable, delicious and timely meal.

TLDR- This was my mistake as we had ordered from this restaurant twice before, a LONG time ago and I had forgotten. This was our third and final time. Flavorless and un-complex ramen and restaurant does not adhere to simple requests. I ordered the -Tamashii Ramen -(also added corn, ginger, mushrooms and extra chasyu) -Pork Buns -Kara-age Don -Gyoza -Potato Salad -Edamame -Soda Total between fees $88.17 before tip. Strangely the food came a bit too fast. Sounds like a first world complaint, I know, but when it comes too fast, I worry about certain elements and their freshness. This was in fact the case. Oddly, despite the short distance and delivery time, everything arrived lukewarm and needed to be reheated. The ramen was terrible. Spent $20+ with the addition of the add-ons, which I believed where necessary given the meager inclusions in the base dish. Supermarket ramen would have been better. The broth was SOOO salty, I couldn't taste anything but and knew I could not eat it as I had gotten sick once from salty ramen, which inevitable acts like a salt water flush to the body. The pickled ginger was equally salty and the noodles had congealed and stuck together and despite soaking never separated, breaking apart when I had attempted to eat them. Perhaps they pre pack the noodles in preparation for to go orders? Cup Noodles instant ramen noodles have more integrity. The good...Pork on pork buns have good flavor and is tender, but I realized that I had asked this restaurant in the past if they could put cucumber on it instead like they do the chicken buns as the lettuce on the bun becomes soggy in transit and ruins the app. Not to mention it could use a bit of crunch. I remember asking in both the notes and calling to inquire if it could be done when giving them a second chance and they said it couldn't be. I felt like it was a small ask, but clearly it wasn't. Gyoza was nothing special. Pretty sure they are supermarket frozen and reheated. They provide the most minuscule of dipping sauce (see pic- no, nothing was spilled in the bag, this is the portion) Potato salad and Edamame were fine. -Kara-age Don Buri was also not great. Chicken wasn't crispy and wasn't seasoned well. It was accompanied by romaine lettuce, fried egg and mushy lukewarm rice. I don't know much about don plates, but the romaine lettuce seemed unauthentic. All in all I definitely wasted $90+ and won't be trying again.

We came here for dinner this weekend and were happy we did! We got the Kara-Age and Chasyu Combo for appetizers. For my main, I got the Kara Miso Ramen. The appetizers were soo yummy and the ramen was good as well. However, I do wish there were less things in the ramen. The portion was huge and there were too many side toppings in the ramen that it felt like it was drowning out the broth. Flavor was good though!

Came in on a Tuesday afternoon around 12pm. There were plenty of seats open. I got the Tamashii ramen. The broth is pretty light. I wanted something richer. The noodles were on the soft side. The chashu was good. It wasn't the most tender I've had, but the flavor was good, and there was a good fat to meat ratio. Egg was perfectly soft boiled. Certain items had a lunch special price which was nice. They also give a discount if you pay with cash.

So we were wandering around in Harbor pointe in New York City, looking for someplace new to try for lunch. We found this Ramen noodle place on yelp that looked very good and decided to give it a try. It is a small restaurant on Bernard Street just off of 47th St. it has seating for about 20 people inside. It's decorated very Japanese and offers a variety of food. We chose to try their Ramen dishes which were very good. I tried the Tamashii Ramen, which is a Shio Ramen soup with Sasu pork seaweed noodles and eggs. It was delicious. My wife tried the shoyu Ramen which was a little bit different sauce flavored with soy versus mineral salt. It too was very good. Service was great, and food came out very quickly. If you're interested in a great Ramen noodle store I would definitely recommend this place. We give it five stars. Hint: The lunch special from 11 to 4 saves you a dollar off the regular menu price.

Average ramen, but conveniently located. Came on a rainy Sunday afternoon (what better time for a bowl of ramen?) and ordered the tantanmen off the waitress's recommendation. Was not a fan of the broth -- oily and thin, and missing any richness or depth of flavor. It is quite spicy if you're into that! Noodles were fine. Was not impressed by the toppings, but not necessarily bad. Tried some of the kimchi ramen and that one was a lot more palatable, if a bit simplistic.

Pretty good Japanese ramen place in lic! The place is pretty small and you could miss it while walking on Vernon Blvd. My friend and I went on a Sat night and we were luckily seated right away! Pretty limited seating so we were surprised. Staff is very friendly here and our orders came out very fast. I really enjoyed my miso ramen! The noodles were al dente and I thought they were too undercooked at first, but as time went on they became the perfect texture. The broth wasn't too salty which I really liked and there was a decent amount of toppings! I'm glad there is a place in LIC that I can go to whenI crave Japanese ramen!

Although close to other tables, when I dined there was no one nearby. There is also bar seating in the front. Service (5/5): I came on a weekend night at 7:30p and there was no wait. Tonkotsu ramen (5/5): Pro move: ask for the thicker noodles (pic is original dish of thin noodles) This was a superb bowl of ramen! The broth is very umami with tons of depth, flavors, and creaminess. Noodles are the straight kind which has a little less bounce than I usually like but still plenty portioned to enjoy. The bowl comes with a lovely half soft boiled egg. The two large pieces of pork char sui were great--tender and flavorful. Reasonably priced bowl at $18 with some additional toppings like wood ear mushrooms, bamboo, green onions, and narutomaki. Definitely coming back here again to try their other bowls!! Pork belly buns (5/5): If you are already getting the pork belly in the ramen, this can be skipped since it's the same meat. However, the sauce was good and the meat is tender. Crab croquette (4/5): It tasted fresh and consistency of a normal croquette-- crunchy on the outside with a softness from potato on the inside. The light panko seasoning was a nice touch. It also comes with a small side of salad. Wagyu (5/5) - thin pieces of wagyu were very fresh and flavorful. The broth feels very soothing and lighter as it was but not as rich as the tonkotsu. I loved the pickled cucumber and cabbage. The thick noodles are perfectly bouncy and chewy. Shoyu Duck (4/5) - Light broth as I did not taste the undertones of duck in the broth.

OK. This won't take long. Fabulous…read more Fabulous meal and fabulous service tonight (Sunday). Three of us came at 6:30 pm and were promptly welcomed. I ordered the Dinner sushi combination D - tuna, salmon and white tuna. It came with a not-so-small small garden salad in a decent dressing. One of my table mates got the Bento box with teriyaki salmon and the other got two rolls (Spicy Girl and Cucumber, Avocado, Jalapeño and Scallion). We also ordered a shrimp shumai appetizer (six small, tasty shumai in the serving). Everything was delicious. And the service was outstanding. To be honest, initially we thought we were being rushed because the server came by repeatedly to remove empty plates and the wrappers from our chopsticks - but we quickly realized that this was really extremely attentive and great service. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were refilled numerous times and we were not rushed at all. After our leisurely meal, we ordered a Green Tea Mille Crepe and an order of fresh fruit. The crepe was very good, although the topping of green tea was a bit thick for us and we scraped it off and ate the rest. The fruit was fresh and delicious. We truly felt very welcomed and valued as customers here. We didn't drink anything other than water, so our bill was only about $100 (before tip) for the 2 hours we were there, but even as we left we felt valued by the serving staff and sushi chefs. An excellent meal and experience.

Firstly, we had wanted to dine in the honey comb booth, so called ahead to reserve one. We didn't know whether a reservation was needed or if we could walk in, but the person on the phone took our name and confirmed our reservation at a specific time on a specific day for a specified number of diners. When we rocked up, we were told that there was no honey comb booth for us. A longer version is that apparently only the two bottom booths are big enough for 4 people but they were both taken. Never mind that as we were leaving, I saw two people in one of those booths. The food? The ramen was mediocre. The omurice was fun to try and the curry sauce was as suitable as their demi glace for it. I wasn't enthused about the bland fried rice for the omurice, though. The popcorn chicken was nice and juicy and stayed that way for the entire meal, which was pleasantly surprising. The pork and chicken yakitori were nice and juicy whereas the beef skirt was overcooked. The braised pork don was on the sweet side but was fine for what it was. The matcha pudding's consistency was closer to a custard than a pudding, but the cream complemented it and the tiny bit of red bean juice actually enhanced the pudding, which would not have been as enjoyable on its own. I doubt I will return, but I wish them well and hope they continue to improve.
