We were planning to get dinner next door but saw Yangmani which got us so excited that we ditched our original plan and took a detour. We ordered the variety combo, the cold dishes came out quickly, it's not too busy today since it's Tuesday. When the meats came, we do feel like we were being rushed, like most Korean BBQ (Baekjang/Ong Ga Nae/Gangnam Street) servers tend to rush and make the experience feel like Chihiro's parents gorging themselves and turning into pigs...aside from feeling rushed, meat/food wasn't as fresh as iWagyu, just for the sake of comparison. Nowadays BBQ places dont use charcoal/real wood for cooking food. It's very sad that we are feeding ourselves rather than enjoying flavors. Yanomami brings back the authentic Korean barbecue! They don't cheap out on the appetizers like the most of the famous and gone bad brand names. We came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and brought a small cake with us. We even let the staff know it was a birthday cake .when we arrived. There were only three of us, and we handed the cake to the staff when we got there, asking if they could bring it out later after our meal. No one mentioned that bringing outside food wasn't allowed. After we paid the bill and asked for the cake, we were told we couldn't eat any outside food inside the restaurant. I asked to speak to the manager and questioned why no one told us this earlier. He simply said the front desk must not have informed us, and pointed out that there's a sign outside that says "No Outside Food." He said this in a very rude tone, and the way he handled the situation was completely unacceptable. If this is your policy, you should clearly inform guests before the meal--especially when we made it clear it was a birthday and handed the cake to your staff. The whole situation left a really bad impression and ruined what should've been a happy celebration. read more

I'm the BIGGEST believer that everything tastes better when meat is dry aged and grilled. Yangmani in Rowland Heights is one of the most popular Korean BBQ restaurants in LA. The premium chef's cut combo starts you off with an absolute banger already, the 14-day dry aged ribeye. Some of the other meats in the set are ribeye cap, garlic galbi, and the INSANE-looking mega galbi! And of course, jiggly egg and corn cheese are included ;) As for their signature dishes, my favorites are the beef tripe fried rice that is mixed at your table, and the cold buckwheat noodles is always such a nice palate cleanser in between the meats. I didn't think I liked intestine but was the highlight of the meal for me. We ordered the 3rd combo option and while it said for 2 people, it was great for 3 people. Everything was pretty standard and delicious -- sides, corn, tofu, wrappers, etc. sauces were kind of weak and meat was miss on some but huge hits on others. Basil leaves with the pork was great and their house mix with chili sauce with the rice is v tasty. Intestine was straight fat and chewy. In my mind I didn't like intestine but it was amazing here.
