Nice Asian restaurant with the hibachi option or table option to eat. We sat at a table for dinner this time, but heard the chefs yelling a lot at the hibachi tables as they cooked. They also do the birthday singing with a portable round drum. Kind of corny but the people liked it. Menu was large with a lot to offer. I ordered off the hibachi menu and was surprised at the amount of food they out on the plate. Taste was good for what we ate. I have four stars as the tables and chairs were a little worn and probably should be replaced. Waitress kept coming around and grabbing our plates as we finished, found it to be a little annoying as they would take the plates just as we finished them. My grandson's graduation party centered around Sake doing a home hibachi preparation of the meal in a large tent on their front lawn. Five stars does not cover how great the food and performance Chef were. After the Chef set up the hibachi, the fun began! First he fried eggs for the Fried Rice. After he prepared the fried rice, he went to each table serving the steaming rice. Next he prepared a nice medley of vegetables. He served these as well. Before preparing the chicken, steak and shrimp, he entertained. He sang a little, smiled a lot, and used a toy pump gun to shoot Saki into the mouths of willing guests. It was well done and well received! Then he cooks the proteins. The large shrimp and steak were my favorites. Chef circulates offering the signature Japanese steakhouse condiment: Yum Yum Sauce known for its great flavor. Chef refills the pump gun with water and entertains young guests. We were clapping and cheering. He paid special attention to the guest of honor, the grad. (My grandson) very nice! Then Chef gives us a fire display and some juggling tricks. More laughing and cheering. Chef passed out take home containers if needed. Without me asking, Chef gave me the Yum Yum Sauce to take home. Lots of compliments to hosts on the quality of the food. Wasn't sure what to expect as a came in for a business lunch on a colleague's recommendation. Loved the decor and the dining room setup, staff were friendly and attentive, and the menus were big but not overwhelming. Great sushi and hibachi options with everything in between as well. I have gotten takeout here 3 times recently. The take out experience is absolutley shameful. I only rated two stars because the "in person" experience Ive had is slightly better and the miso soup is fine. The portions for everything are much smaller than you would ever expect them to be. $10 for a side of fried rice? Not to mention half of it is white and un-mixed. Lo-mein noodles are off as well its just sad because its a concenient place. This is my 3rd poor experience and none of this food is worth the price you will pay. read more

I will start with the wait staff: they were excellent. The sushi as apps were generous and delicious. Now the hibachi experience: Grrrrr....the food used to be so good with premium products. We ate here recently and were so disappointed in the quality AND quantity of food. The delicious ginger carrot salad dressing is no longer... the replacement is way too sweet and over processed. The shrimp and meats for the hibachi (filet mignon, chicken, steak) were sub-par and overcooked. Way too much oil was used for the veggies, rice and noodles and the seasonings were lacking. The majority of our party took "leftovers" and tossed them. We tried to enjoy our leftovers but they were way too greasy. Will we go back? Probably but not anytime soon, except for sushi. read more

The food is great at Sake, but the overall experience was rather underwhelming. Our party of two was seated almost immediately at an empty hibachi table for 10. We were told that if no one strolled in in 15 minutes, they would fire up the grill for just us. We didn't mind waiting since we had put in an order for cocktails and calamari. 35 minutes later, we had a few other people at our table and no grill master. It was a weekday and a small crowd in an other-wise empty restaurant, and you could tell that the grill master was over it. He didn't know any of the hibachi tricks. No onion volcano, no beating heart on the rice, no shrimp tail toss to a guest. Part of the reason hibachi is so highly priced is the "dinner-tainment" which we just didn't get. Sake is a perfect spot for a group dinner. Every time I've been there for dinner it's been packed with birthday groups, but service remains quick and efficient and they don't rush the hibachi experience. I would suggest making a reservation. i ordered pick up, i did dive into it before doing this review- the reason being, i went to yelp to see if i was the only one thinking that the oil was an issue. The Beef negamaki is delicious!! and how it is supposed to taste. Chicken habachi on the other hand is meh, the ginger salad is pretty good as well as the soup (i personally do not mind the dressing - i see the mixed reviews below). The rice tastes WEIRD!!! like something is off and i'm a sucker for rice so i'm a lil bummed, noodles and other stuff pretty good. read more

We came around 2 pm for lunch and sat in the regular seating area - not into the showmanship with lousy margarine loaded faux Japanese food made at the Habachi grill! There were very few people in the area where we were seated, so service was excellent. The restaurant is nice and spacious with well maintained seating. I ordered 12 pieces sashimi special. My wide ordered the sushi lunch special. Both came with misonsoup and salad. The miso soup was good but pretty much standard fare. The salad was good with very tasty dressing. There was too much dressing but it settled nicely at the bottom so I was good. There were four types of sashimi - salmon, tuna, scallop, and yellow fin. Every one of them were decent size, fresh, and melted in my mouth. The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. I noticed the reviews about slow service. That was not the case with me. We came solely for sushi but the hibachi experience looked like it would be great so I would give this place a shot for that as well. Sake is a nice restaurant for small and large groups, and the hibachi show makes it extra special! I went to Sake with a group of 11, and I was easily able to make a reservation on Google online the day before. We called the day of and notified we would be 15 min late, and the servers kindly accommodated us. When we got inside, I was immediately greeted by a modern, cozy feeling of the restaurant. The waiters greeted us--service was decent. Make sure all your party arrives to be seated! During dinner, we were able to watch the hibachi show, as most of us ordered the hibachi options. There are a ton to choose from: shrimp, steak, chicken, scallops, etc. For $22.95, the chicken option was pretty good (a little dry, but I understand you do need to cook the chicken through). The T-bone steak was my favorite from trying my friend's order. I was really stuffed by the end of the meal--they even gave us boxes to take our leftovers home. Overall, Sake gives big portions, has a slightly pricier menu (but understandable since they give you a lot of meat), and entertains with a fun show to watch. It was pretty quiet as it is Christmas Eve. Very spacious place with hibachi tables. Our food was pretty good. We got three rolls: chicken tempura, spicy crab and shrimp avo. Also, we got mango shrimp and shrimp curry; all very tasty and nicely done. Food came out pretty quick as they served us miso soup and salad. By the time we were done the plates were in. So I've been here twice now, and the food has been great. I've had various Sushi Rolls, Sashimi, and Miso Soup. The fish all tastes very fresh and portion sizes are great. As far as cost, I think they're very competitive. This Sushi Sashimi Combo I had today was $21.55 after tax. It came with Miso Soup and a House Salad. The dressing on the salad, is very tasty, but they put too much on it, half of my salad was basically soup, not a big problem though, I'll just remedy that by ordering the dressing on the side next time. Also I think they put a bit too much Spicy Mayo and Eel sauce on the Godzilla Roll. They really dressed the plate up with Cherry Blossoms. Here is why it's not getting all 5 stars. Both of the times that I have been here, I have been asked if I would like to sit at the Bar, and I have said yes. I sat down the first time and immediately got handed a menu. I browsed the menu, and then nobody came to wait on me for at least 10 minutes. I had to go get somebody to tell them I was still out there and I was ready to take my order. It wasn't until they needed the menu I had in my hand that they were like "oh this guy has the menu." I was like yeah, I'm hungry too, can I order? Lol. Now today, they told me to go pick whichever seat at the bar, I sat down, didn't even get a menu until I waited for 10 minutes. So I had to get up, go out to the entrance and remind them I was out there. The service, once I got some, was top notch! It was just getting them to come over to me was the issue. It wasn't because they were busy either. I was the only one in the Bar area. They did have a few occupied tables in the other dining rooms that I seen, but they were definitely not too busy to wait on me. I will be back to give them another shot. read more

Didnt expect to have sushi when we passed Albany. Was going to Ala Shanghainese Chinese restaurant but was closed. Found Sake on Yelp. Great review on hibachi. I guess hibachi experience must be great. It was full on a Monday night. Didn't get to try it. Most of the restaurants are closed on Monday. Ordered 3 appetizers and 2 special rolls . Rolls are pretty small. Tiger roll and American dream roll tasted the same. All appetizers are great. I can tell the Chef likes sauces and seasonings. Receptionist service was great! It was ok. We were meeting a party of fifteen and got there a little early. We decided on drinks at the bar. They have a menu of yummy drinks for summer and the bartenders were more than happy to make them. The bar illuminates bright changing colors and the wine display is phenomenal! Those drinks are so good they're dangerous (only because you will want another and another). Our party arrived and we moved to the hibachi table which seated us comfortably. Dual hibachi artists whipped up our meals with humor and skills like no other! I was pleasantly surprised by Sake! I've driven by here many times and never tried it since I have a favorite sushi place in the area already. But, they happened to be closed on this particular evening. We tried a couple of cooked items and some simple sushi. The menu is extensive...there really is something for everyone along with a separate hibachi-table room. Many of the sushi roll choices are "americanized"...with all kinds of mayo, sauces and fried thingies in 'em. But the basic sushi and simple rolls were very nice - fish was fresh and everything was tasty. The cooked items (roti and a grilled chicken dish) were also delicious. A solid choice with lots of options and a very nice atmosphere. Just note that if the hibachi room is busy, it can get pretty loud in the main dining room (which it did while we were there). read more

While I was driving on my way home, I stumbled upon this steakhouse that was across from the gas station. The service was good, but I like how it wasn't too busy when I came in that moment. Whoever cooked the food did an excellent job, especially since it was my first time choosing sushi based on what they were offering.
