Red, white and blue chicken sandwich (Buffalo, Ranch, chicken)
    Russell H.

This food truck parked outside my work and I am not disappointed in trying it. The sandwiches on Texas toast are savory and delicious. The toast is soft, crispy and buttery. The chicken is moist and crunchy. Additional sauces are great and I am a big fan of the ole'76 sauce. The fries were good but not nearly the highlight of the meal which was the sandwich. Good service at the counter and most definitely a place I will try again. Definitely worth a shot if you see it in your neighborhood!

Saw the stand at Broadway bites while on launch and the lady that was working the register and serving the food was amazing. She was friendly engaging and actually the only reason I actually came back and purchased food. I got the chicken tenders and fries dish( called winner winner) it was good.

I'm always down to try new chicken, especially when it's claimed to be one of the best. I've seen Yankee Doodle Dandy parked outside my office building almost daily. Their 4.5 star overall rating is what got me to order from them one day. The guy in the truck who took my order was super friendly, and gave me my food pretty quickly. I ordered the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner combo which came with chicken tenders, fries, and a slice of Texas toast. The fries and sauce were a great combo, and the Texas toast was buttery-goodness. The chicken tenders, however, were a bit of a salt bomb. I had to rub the breading off to be able to finish them after my first one. I'm was hoping for more with the all the raving reviews. Maybe I'll give them another chance in the future, or try their chicken sandwich instead.

Stopped by the food truck to grab a quick lunch to take back to the office. Decided on the Buffalo soldier platter. The chicken was really good; the buffalo sauce is definitely custom and not just off the shelf. The sauce did take away from some of the crispiness on the chicken, but that also could've been because it took me 15 min before I started eating it. Whatever the sauce they gave for the fries wasn't the best, but ok. I would go again to check out the sandwiches or other flavors. Lots of food for 14 bucks which is nice. Definitely get your moneys worth. The truck worker was super friendly and outgoing. Made small talk with everyone who ordered. I read the story behind the business on a poster on the truck - pretty inspiring story and glad to see he now can do what he loves!

Believe it or not, finding a good chicken tender is difficult. If you work in midtown, you're in luck. Yankee Doodle Dandy serves up some legit chicken tenders. The potato salad is on point as well. My go to order is the Buffalo Soldier which is basically Buffalo chicken tenders. The serving size are generous, the sauce is tasty, and the chickens is flavorful. I highly recommend this food truck.

I wish they would update on their twitter daily. I been trying to look for them for the same spot at downtown Manhattan ever since when I first spot them. But I haven't see them ever since. I know they used to be closed to 6th Ave & 46th St. I had the chicken tender with fries. The Chicken is really juicy and it is cooked to perfection. The toast & fries is really good also. Hopefully they are back to downtown Manhattan soon. Can't wait to get my hands on them. Yes I am a big fan of them.

This is actually the BEST chicken I've ever had!! The food was absolutely deliciously divine and the sauce with the fries and tenders were to die for. The service was fast and the food was the perfect temperature. The place is so patriotic and the names of the meals are just so creative and well thought out. The restaurant ambiance is so fun and the vibe is just perfect. Highly recommend trying this place out and adding it to your fave places for the best chicken tenders ever. So amazing and so fun!!

    3 piece tender- chicken only.

Chicken is good, not as flavorful as expected. Probably could use some salt. However, good quality. Gentleman could have explained that the price is the same with or without any sides. $10 for 3 tenders. Came with a delicious sauce on the side. Not sure if that is what they consider bbq sauce but still yummy.

I tried the Buffalo soldier, which is chicken fingers in Buffalo sauce. It's good, and so is the homemade potato salad.

The best chicken sandwich in nyc. Highly recommend it. Was skeptical of a food truck but the chicken is worth it.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. The bottoms were so crispy, it was almost like it was a layer of potato chip! Really great texture, and the fish meat was cooked to perfection. Really sad that they're closing, but looking forward to whatever the chef/restaurant team does next!

It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

Without us asking, he brought over extra bread to accompany our lamb tartare. He also gave us complimentary espresso martini shots when we were too full for dessert. The French Onion soup was flavorful but light, and the burger (European style) and fries were delicious. The cocktails were interesting. We'd love to come back and try the mussels and creme brulee!

The tables are closely packed, there were fresh flowers at every table, and the floor has a fun black and white pattern. I tried the old fashioned Recette to drink, and the kale and Brussels salad. The old fashioned had a phenomenal blend of flavors. The salad was maybe a bit heavy on the dressing, but the flavors complemented each other well. The portion is small though. Overall, I had a great experience at Recette and would highly recommend them for a light brunch in Brooklyn.
