Another pretty good food truck option in FiDi. Sometimes they are disguised as Nick's Eatery or something like that. As the guy in the truck will tell you, best chicken fingers in New York. Can't say they're the worst and quite honestly I don't have much room to argue with him. I've always gotten a sandwich but they are healthy size with 2 big chicken fingers between some glorious texas toast. Very tasty. The buffalo sandwich was good but hardly had any buffalo sauce or bleu cheese on it but still pretty good. The '76 sauce they give with the fries and on some of their sandwiches is pretty tasty. They do give you a big ole pickle spear as well. The fries are ok, sometimes they have a weird taste, not bad, just weird maybe a grill taste or something. I can't put my finger on it. But overall, for $9-10 depending on what you get, it's a lot of food for a good price. Customer service is also excellent. I tried Yankee Doodle when they came to my block--there wasn't a line so I was hesitant, but I'm glad I went for it. The chicken was good--hot and came out fast. The fries were average fries, and the toast was Texas toast. Sorry, I'm not a fan of potato salad. But their 76 sauce? I wanted to drink it. Mmmmm. Their food was more than reasonably priced--ten bucks for a complete meal. Only complaint is that they don't take credit cards. God bless America. read more

my daughter and i were on governor's island for figment.. upon finding ourselves famished we quested food and found the trucks.. now, when one is inclined towards both food trucks AND chicken fingers, and when a truck boasts "the best chicken fingers you'll ever taste," one is inclined to try those boastful fingers.. well, what should have been crunchy delight was mightily un-chewable (lest one risk a broken tooth); otherwise the breading was much like sadly ignored cereal bested by the prancing of little ponies.. the chicken itself was unfashionably dry.. the few pieces that weren't merely achieved a wetness without what i like to call, flavor.. the '76 sauce was a fitting companion in its embrace of not-flavor.. these folks seem to have researched the worst possible qualities of this most simple of foods and put them all into one tidy box.. with the quality and care of work-study teens at the county fair these breaded fowl-ettes presented themselves and proceeded to do battle with my innards.. i believe the term "heat-lamp" weighed heavily into this most unfortunate experience.. if i found myself exceedingly drunk and hungry at 3am and my options were this particular cerulean truck of doom and 7-11, i would find myself happily snarfing down a pile o' roller taquitos.. get ye gone yankee doodle crappy's.. read more

The person who I now know as the owner Josh from other reviews enticed me over to score a free sample of his food while parked at Aqueduct's Wood Memorial race day. I stopped here for lunch the other day. This truck caught my eye after walking down the long row of food trucks on the block. I love a good buffalo chicken tender so I was excited. The employees in the truck were very friendly. I ordered the "Buffalo Soldier" meal. They called my name 5 minutes later and I was headed back to the office. The meal came with buffalo chicken tenders, french fries, toast, potato salad and a side of bleu cheese. I skipped the toast completely and ate the potato salad and fries first and they were really good. The "tenders" were little strips of chicken slathered in buffalo sauce. The sauce was very good but I did get a few pieces of chicken that were chewy and had parts that needed to be cut off. All in all, it was an ok lunch but definitely not "the best" chicken tenders I've ever had and although it says they take cards on here, I was told cash only so keep that in mind before you order. read more

First off, the name and the decoration of the truck set me back a bit. I wasn't sure if this was a serious food truck, or some kind of weird experiment. But, I looked at the menu and had to admit I was intrigued. $10 for a Chicken Club with fries. That's the magic number, and it happened to be exactly what I had tried to order from a nearby deli but had been told that 3 o'clock was too late to order lunch, and they wouldn't be making my sandwich. Yankee Doodle to the rescue. They included a cup of special sauce, and my one complaint is that they didn't include 2 cups of special sauce. The guy on the truck was friendly, outgoing, and offered me a drink in exchange for an honest Yelp review. If the food wasn't good, took too long, or was otherwise unsatisfying, it would take a lot more than a free drink to stop me from writing it. I passed by Yankee Doodle Dandy and the owner was yelling that he had the best Chicken Strips in America. I know he isn't going to yell that his food is bad, but he had a certain charisma about him when he yelled so I figured I would give it a shot. I got the Red, White and Bleu Chicken Sandwich and I am sure there is competition out there but it is the best chicken strips I have had in a long time at the very least. Took me forever to get the guy's attention to ask where my order was, sure enough they completely forgot it. He offered me a drink as compensation- except that I had already paid for a drink. True to its name, the chicken was tender and the sauce was out of this world. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The guys are super friendly and the food came out pretty quick for such good food. My friend had the Red, White, and Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich which he loved so much he emailed me right after to say that he was going to go back later to try their burger. He wasn't kidding... He had that and said the burger "pretty damn good. it does not disappoint". Hopefully will see them around again near the Courts! read more

Once upon a time I journeyed to Charleston, South Carolina, and had the best fried chicken I've ever tasted. For years I lived under the impression that I would never again taste those flavors anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon. Thankfully, I was wrong. While walking past a row of food trucks on Park and 47th looking for the day's lunch, I was shouted at by a man in a star-spangled truck who said he sold the best chicken sandwiches since the dawn of history. Tall order, I thought to myself, and after Charleston my expectations were fairly low for a New Yorker's chicken. Either way, I went for it and bought the fried chicken sandwich. After the first bite my smug arrogance was put to rest because this chicken sandwich was indeed amazing - juicy, flavorful, and well proportioned. The special sauce looks like any mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise but is nevertheless packed with a great blend of tastes and spices. The brioche bread was buttery and thick, even for toasted bread. Overall, a great sandwich. Is it the best chicken in history? Can't say. But very likely the best chicken north of Virginia. read more

I stumbled upon this truck which I have never eaten from and I'm always down to try a new food truck. I wanted the Burger but apparently they were outta burgers so I ordered the "Red White & Blue" being the patriotic person that I am. Chicken tenders on thick sliced bread topped with buffalo sauce and blue cheese with a side of fries. The chicken was the best part. Cant say I loved it but it was definitely worth a shot. My friends and I came here on a Sunday after a long day of drinking and tanning in Domino Park so we were pretty hungry. The owner was super nice. The menu has a lot of different items but he gave us a couple of recommendations and we each went with the same thing which was the winner winner. It's four substantially sized chicken tenders and French fries. The chicken was seasoned perfectly as were the fries. We got them with the special sauce which may have been one of the best I've ever tasted. As a side I also got the potato salad which the owner recommended but I was wary of initially. If you're black you know how picky we can be about potato salad but theirs was pretty good. The owner even offered us hand sanitizer. There were some people in line behind us who maybe forgot their masks and I heard him offer them masks and sanitizer. It was nice to see because this is a food truck and food trucks tend to make me a little wary of cleanliness but I felt secure after that. All in all if I could give this food truck 10 stars I would. read more
