We had the sausage pizza because we had the homemade meatball appetizer and then everything was just really delicious. We ended up meeting some folks in the next room. Because they had a beautiful buffet set up and it was just amazing how excellent it was looking. I mean the food all smell fantastic come to find out the young man explained to me that they were actually there for their aunt service that she had actually passed away in January 2024, but she had been a professor and her husband has been a judge and so he already passed away so what they did was they took her ashes all over the world they came from England and Ireland. They took her ashes like five different places of the six different places over the past year so they could take and have a party with each one of the family members a friend who couldn't make it to one place or the other All at the same time so then they just brought her back here and they buried her this morning with her husband in Mawn Phelia in the cemetery and they were having the app party for here afterwards I just thought that was like the neatest thing to do for anyone. And they seem like very very nice people so it was kind of cool. I would definitely go here again. I would definitely recommend it as a place to go. We were able to eat on the patio on the front porch of the restaurant of the Montpelier Inn and really it was very interesting watching all the people in the cars and stuff go by and it was just you know it was fun so yeah so definitely make this a destination stop if you're in the town.

My husband ordered a Caesar salad and their Margherita pizza. The Greek salad was magnificent... beautiful presentation, huge salad and lots of wonderful ingredients (mixed greens, marinated artichoke hearts, chickpeas, red onion, Greek olives, feta cheese and roasted red peppers), all of which I love. I always get it with Caesar dressing, just my preference, and I'm always glad I do. Their Caesar dressing was particularly delicious to add to the enjoyment of the salad. What was even a greater surprise was how much I LOVED my husband's pizza. He always offers me a slice, and I usually take one bite and say thank you. This pizza was so freaking good, I ate the entire slice. It was amazing. I think it was the pizza sauce because that pizza style usually is boring to me. This was AMAZING. Another restaurant I'm sad I don't live near. It'd be a really long car ride to get here from where I live, but if YOU are in the area, make sure you give them a try. So worth your time and money.

We suspect you need reservations for prime dining hours on a weekend. The decor feels a little dated but the food is great. We can forgive the $2 for a quarter loaf of bread because it's only a few dollars and the bread was fresh and served with garlic oil, not like overpriced $10-$12 Parker House Rolls, but it's not a good trend to charge for bread. Service was good until we wanted to pay our bill - that took a little bit. We'll happily return.

Bottle redemption. A Vermont state law that requires you to pay a deposit which in turn mandates…read morethat you return the used bottles. 3 times in the last 30 days I've attempted to return approximately $100 in bottles The first time I arrived in the afternoon and there was a line... no problem, I'll come back. The second time was a vacation day for me, Dec 31 and the bottle room was closed... no online notification. The third time was this morning. Online said store opened at 7, I was there at 7:10. The bottle room has a sign on the door, they open at 8. I waited patiently, talking to the manager asking if they could update their online information. As I waited a kid walks up to me and tells me he's not taking me because he doesn't do truckloads on Saturdays.... How friggen wonderful. If you're open for bottle redemption then do your f'n job and take the bottles back. I didn't make the law, I followed the law. Don't go here. They're clearly not interested in your satisfaction, only what they can sell you.

It was the same server who was attending to the table next to us, and she only acknowledged us after we spoke up. She didn't take our drink orders or offer us water. After we finally ordered drinks, we waited 20 minutes only to discover our drinks sitting at the bar--our martinis had already become warm. As for the food, the Rib Eye steak was perfect, but the Shrimp and Scallop Scampi was terrible, and the other pasta dishes with lobster were just okay.
