Everything was exceptional. I had never been here before, but from the recommendation from one of the girls I was riding motorcycles with this weekend. They recommended them for their homemade meatballs. So 10 of us went over there for lunch today and we ended up meeting the owner of the restaurant, David and they had some really exceptional Service. It was like right on top of everything. They took their time they took our order separately had no problem right and separate check since it was like a 10 of us was five couples. we also tried a Caesar salads as well as the pizzas. We had the sausage pizza because we had the homemade meatball appetizer and then everything was just really delicious. We ended up meeting some folks in the next room. Because they had a beautiful buffet set up and it was just amazing how excellent it was looking. I mean the food all smell fantastic come to find out the young man explained to me that they were actually there for their aunt service that she had actually passed away in January 2024, but she had been a professor and her husband has been a judge and so he already passed away so what they did was they took her ashes all over the world they came from England and Ireland. They took her ashes like five different places of the six different places over the past year so they could take and have a party with each one of the family members a friend who couldn't make it to one place or the other All at the same time so then they just brought her back here and they buried her this morning with her husband in Mawn Phelia in the cemetery and they were having the app party for here afterwards I just thought that was like the neatest thing to do for anyone. And they seem like very very nice people so it was kind of cool. I would definitely go here again. I would definitely recommend it as a place to go. We were able to eat on the patio on the front porch of the restaurant of the Montpelier Inn and really it was very interesting watching all the people in the cars and stuff go by and it was just you know it was fun so yeah so definitely make this a destination stop if you're in the town. read more

Pizzas were top quality, with excellent tasting dough...the mark of a good pizza. Good beer list, too. Service was a miss. Took them more than 30 mins to deliver our basic pizzas, then brought our salad 10 mins LATER (clearly forgot it). There were about 4 people in the whole restaurant, so being busy wasn't a legit response. read more

Came for a date night, first time since living in VT and after the flood. It was excellent!! The friendly staff were absolutely wonderful, especially Kelly who works at the Inn and assists the restaurant. We love the casual, cozy atmosphere and the self serve idea when it comes to ordering food and drinks. We had the Mikey Meatball pizza and Cheezy Neapolitan Bread, both of which were fantastic! The sauce had great flavor, cheese was fresh and the dough was light and hand tossed. All of which was accompanied by a nice glass of red wine. My husband and I tried this place a few days ago. It's in the old Inn at Montpelier building. We had a cheese pizza with veggies on top, 2 side salads, a Coke and a Switchback IPA. The check was around $38. But the food was delicious. Our pizza was hot and fresh, and exactly as requested. It was the perfect size for 2 people. The salads were fresh and greens were crisp. The service was excellent. The person who seated us and our server were both friendly and helpful. We sat indoors, and it was clean and spacious. Outdoor seating was available as well. Parking was plentiful and free, located in the hotel's own lot. I highly recommend this place. read more

We ate here as a family of four and had amazing service and food. We shared the brussel sprouts which were perfectly crispy and delicious and we split three 12" pizzas, Penzo Pesto, Lou BBQ, and Frankie Fisherman. We absolutely enjoyed every pizza. The crust was delicious as well. The size was great so you can try multiple pizzas and please many palates and take home for leftovers. Service was outstanding, we were sat promptly and were told how to order and write what we want and bring it back to host desk. Within minutes our app came out hot and right when we were finishing the pizzas came out! We spent a total of 50 minutes here with friendly staff checking in on us from time to time. My husband and I went to Penzo pizza last night for the first time. It is located in the same building as The Inn at Montpelier. Penzo Pizza includes an indoor dining room, a bar, and seating on the veranda outside. Because the restaurant is just getting a start, there is very little waitstaff: we were greeted at the front desk by the hostess, who told us to find a table, fill out our menu with our table number and menu selections, and return them to her. We did so, and were served very quickly thereafter, at least partly because the restaurant was not crowded. For appetizers, we ordered the fried artichokes with lemon aïoli, and the fried Brussel sprouts with goat cheese and balsamic glaze. The artichokes were breaded and deep-fried, crispy, and delicious! The brussels sprouts were not breaded or deep-fried, but instead sautéed until crisp. They were also delicious, and the lack of breading was actually a positive thing and much more healthy. They were a little undercooked, but I like brussels sprouts in any form, so I still enjoyed these. My husband and I each ordered a pizza: he chose a custom pizza with pesto, tomatoes, and chicken. I chose their special, called the Vincenzo, which has pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, and green pepper. Both of these were delicious! The crust was on the thinner, side, which my husband loves, but still soft and chewy, which I love! The toppings tasted fantastic and we both loved our meals. The prices were reasonable enough and the servings were quite generous. We chose not to get dessert, but it took an immense effort of will, and we will definitely be back to try them another time!
