Josey's has been one of my favorite restaurants since I moved her over four years ago. However, last evening I was disappointed with my meal, as it was served barely warm. Our server did not check on our table for several minutes after it was delivered by another server. Then we had to wait for several more minutes when we were finished eating to pay for our dinner. This has become a favorite breakfast spot for us. The perfectly cooked crispy with creamy centers home fries ( with onions added ) make my husband happy, and the crisp edged corned beef hash is the best (and most reasonably priced) around. If you're looking for a good meat and three this is the place to go. Always busy. Food is good although sometimes the service is a bit shaky. Servers are from the "diner" school of serving so don't get upset with the honey-sweetie-darling language - Southern and down home. The place is exactly as billed - Chuck Wagon. Would not recommend this place. Overpriced for a meat & 2 with very small portions. The squash casserole was disgusting - no squash in it. All you could taste was the bisquick they used to make the topping and it was soggy where it was not cooked completely. read more

Yummmm...breakfast was amazing. I got all 4 of my breakfast favorites which were delicious. The sausage patties tasted homemade and had the right amount of flavor. My family and I have eaten here a few times. The food for the most part is pretty good. My wife ordered last night on Uber eats and we were missing half our food and they had already closed by the time we got our food. But what we did get was good. I suggest that you try Josey's breakfast. It's the only place I know of that you can get a real breakfast by ordering ahead and I king up in the drive through. I usually get either the pancakes and bacon or the western omelet. I enjoy both. read more

Lunch date with my son today! I have been here a handful of times and my whole family loves the food. There is nothing like good ol country soul food that sticks to your ribs and reminds you of growing up and eating lunch with granny and pawpaw. If this sounds like a memory you have, then you must come. Now. Because I don't want them to ever close!! My all time favorite is the 4 vegetable plate. I get the green beans, Mac n cheese, sweet potato fritter (OMG!!) and squash casserole (my overall fav anywhere!). They give you a choice of bread- jalapeño corn bread, garlic biscuit (think Red Lobsters), roll or sweet cake corn bread (yessir). My son, because he is as finicky as they get, opts for chicken tenders and fries, like all of the time... and got a side of green beans. It's a win win today, baby. Wow! I was really impressed with Josey's! We both ordered the Chuck wagon which is a breaded pork loin. You get two sides and a bread option with each meal as well as a drink. You can't beat that! I had fries and Mac and cheese and a garlic cheese biscuit. I also got to try my husband's mashed potatoes and sweet potato fritter. That sweet potato fritter was amazing! I've not had anything quite like it before. Our toddler also thought it was great! The lemonade is pink, probably just the hi-c or Minute Maid variety that you normally find in the coke machines. Nothing special. The pork was fantastic and the white gravy on top was perfect. I will definitely be back here next time I visit the area. read more

#breakfast I'm a breakfast gal, but am never on this side of town in the morning. Ran through the drive thru this morning and got a Full House (eggs, bacon, pancakes) and added a biscuit. Excellent service, friendly people and my food was fresh and got. Eggs were great and not the soggy scrambled found occasionally. Already told my husband to drive thru on his way to work and I'll be back anytime I can! read more

My husband and I stopped in at Josey's after having passed it by many times. Their claim to fame is their meat & 2 items, but I couldn't resist the shrimp & grits. I must say that I don't think I've had better in any restaurant before. It was certainly light years better than dishes I've paid 2 times as much for. The grits were creamy and served hot with plenty of bacon, cheese, and gravy. The shrimp were seasoned perfectly. My husband went for the fried flounder with veggies and he says it was delicious. It was very fresh-tasting, lightly breaded, and fried to perfection. We will definitely be back! We ordered dessert to take home. $25 for two meals and two desserts. A great value as well! read more

The restaurant was very clean, tables and chairs/booths were clean not sticky. I always notice if there is dust on the light fixtures and happily there was none. The service was great, friendly. The servers came by to check on us a few times but were not intrusive or overly solicitous. I hate being constantly interrupted by servers. We were there for breakfast and the food was exactly as we expected. Good, plentiful, basic breakfast food. The pancakes were great, the biscuits were the best- not too salty, tender crumb. Somebody knows how to bake biscuits is cooking there. We like to try a restaurant for breakfast before we go there for dinner, and we all agreed we would be back for dinner. read more

With so many great Southern "meat 'n' 3s" around here, I don't think we will do this one again. The prices were average, the portions were small, and the food was good, but not great. I ordered the brazed beef, which was a big disappointment. It wasn't at all what I expected - it looked like pieces of bacon the way it was shredded. Most of the sides were fine, but nothing amazing. I would recommend the Original Harvey's or even a chain like Cracker Barrel over this place. On the upside, kids do eat for $1.99 on Saturdays from 5-8pm (1 kid per adult meal purchase). But unless your kid is a light eater, the serving may not be enough and they only bring out 1 piece of bread or cornbread per meal, unlike most southern restaurants that keep your bread basket full. read more

Delicious! We really liked that they packed the gravy for our meats on the side so the breading didn't get soggy. We both thought the breading was a bit too salty, though.
