I ate at Yan's twice because I was staying at the hotel next door. The place was very clean and the woman who took my to-go order was very pleasant. The potstickers were great, though the sauce was very oily and quite spicy. (I had to dilute it with soy sauce.) I also tried the shrimp fried rice which was very bland. Basically shrimp and rice with minimal seasoning. The next time, I had the orange chicken. AWFUL!!! It didn't taste like chicken, had a strange texture and the breading was slimy. The sauce was watery, overly sweet and the orange peel was NOT fresh. The peel was so tough, it was like chewing on cardboard so I'm guessing it was dried. read more

The flavor is a little bland and a bit too salted but otherwise pretty good, you can pick up your order if you don't want to eat inside, their pricing is decent for the amount of food is offered. Will be returning in the future for more. read more

We stopped in here for lunch the other day and will definitely be back again. The restaurant was clean and cozy. Service was prompt and friendly, even when we added something to our order halfway though the meal. The crab puffs were hot and savoury, just how I like them, and the lo mein was was evenly balanced, without being loaded with tons of filler cabbage like some places. The only problem we had was with the card reader as we were paying our bill, but even then, the server handled the issue and got us out without drama. read more

A couple years ago, Yans had fantastic food....I don't know if they hired a different cook or what is going on there now....Today, on the lunch special, I ordered 4 General Tso Chicken lunches to go, and 1 Chicken Almond......Holy Crap!!!.....The General Tso was the worse I have ever seen or tried to eat....It Was absolutely horrid!!......It was not deep fried, like usual.... The fried rice didn't have any flavor what so ever.....I feel like I really got ripped off big time... I won't be going back again....a couple years ago,I wrote a good review about this place.... I would rate this place a zero but that is not an option. Today my mother and me went to eat here for a late lunch which will be the last time I step foot in this door. Yes I will tell all of my friends and family about this horrific experience also! I noticed on the dinner combinations that there was no Mongolian beef combination. So I asked the waitress whom is a Chinese lady that I am pretty sure owns the place because she works all the time and does not have anyone else working. She knows that place inside and out and all the prices and i'm pretty sure most of the ingredients that are included in the dishes also. As a person who has worked in a Chinese restaurant for three years as a waiter and bartender I have a little bit of an idea of how the particular business works. So I asked the owner lady how much it would be to substitute a dish main course for Mongolian beef. She says oh the prices vary but when I ask her how much it would cost to purchase a #5 dinner combination w/hot n sour soup. Then the owner told me it would be $3.00 more dollars. I did ask her Would it be $12.50 instead of $10.95. The Mongolian beef entrée in the beef menu section cost $12.50. It was interesting how The owner waitress knew the price right away at that moment. So I opted out to get the Mongolian beef and decided that I would rather purchase a extra cup of hot n sour soup. As a consumer it would be appropriate for her to give me the correct information when I asked the first time instead of playing mind games with me. So my mother ordered a letter B dinner combination w/egg flour soup. We really just wanted tea And were also given water. I looked online to see if there was a copy of the prices from the menu so I could give more exact information. All I know is that my meal cost $10.95 and the extra hot and sour soup cost us $2.50 so the grand total was $28 and some change. My mother wanted to pay with cash so she pulled out a $20, a five and a bunch of ones to pay the bill. She even counted it twice. I even contributed to the tip. So I drop the money off at the front counter where the Chinese woman was finishing up another transaction. Just as we were about to get into my mother's vehicle the Chinese owner waitress comes rushing outside to catch us before we leave because she is dishonest and wanted more money. She claimed that we didn't leave enough money. She must really think people are stupid particularly white people. I have something else to say I look white but I'm not. It's obvious that she took some of the money out of the pile that was left for her to pay the bill and it came after us wanting more money. My mother being the kind person that she is gave her $10 more dollars. Do you understand now why I am so disappointed and upset. I hate liars and I hate thieves! Not all business owners are as bad as this woman. I can guarantee that We are not the first People that she's done this too nor the last. What I can guarantee is that this is an honest review written March 10, 2019. Truthfully we Could not afford to go out to eat here to begin with because of financial struggles but I love American Chinese food. Don't forget that this woman may be rich now but she will have to pay the price for her trespasses against other people and her sins one day. All conscious send/trespasses against others come with a price some call it karma. What I have learned over the years is that every sin/trespass does not have a value In which we may think. I truly hope and pray that the conviction in this woman's heart will compel her to do good things In the future and make positive choices for her future. read more

Was recommended, so we tried it. Nothing remarkable. Ground chicken in the soup, have never seen that done in a Chinese restaurant. The texture totally ruined it for us. The "spicy" dish we ordered had no spice to it, no heat at all. All the dishes were fresh, but very bland, very ho hum. It was not busy, a few tables and a couple take out orders. Our service was very slooow, friendly enough, but too long to take our order then a long time to receive the food. Great food and a friendly wait staff. General Tso's Chicken combo plate was excellent. The food I took home from my two dining companions is also great. In Longview/Kelso I found the numerous Chinese options hit and miss but Yan's is a definite hit. The only negative was listening to some horrendous Karaoke during dinner. read more

My wife and I gave Yan's a try as take out and had mixed results. She had the shrimp egg foo young. It was bland but I find that typical. While not my dish of choice, she said it was OK. She's had better and had worse. The white rice was somewhat au dente; which I like but my spouse detests. I ordered the orange chicken and roasted pork lo mein. In fairness to the cook, the noodles were better than most. They had a great, smoked flavor due to the star of the meal: the roasted pork. The orange chicken... man, it's hard to find something good to say about this dish. The sauce was closer to simple syrup than anything else. Only by the vaguest of definitions would I define it as orange. And yet the sauce was the best part of the dish. The chicken was, and I don't use this term lightly, horrid. It was stringy, tough, and tasted like leather. It felt like chewing old cartilage. I really can't overstate how bad it was. If I was in the restaurant, I would have most definitely sent it back. Maybe for more noodles. My suggestion: go for the noodles, skip the poultry & fryer at all costs. read more
