Dirty Brown Sugar Milk with Boba
    Ingrid C.

This store sells ramen at pre-COVID prices... my ramen was only $13.50... I'm too used to $18 to $22 bowls! Not only is it on the cheaper end, it is just as tasty. We also got their calamari for $7 and it was perfectly fried, light and airy. It had a nice spicy mayo dip too. I got the spicy miso ramen. My only complaint was that the pork belly was a little dry but my bowl came with a whole egg!! Most places will now charge +$2/3 for an egg and +$1 for spice. This place is so reasonable and hits the spot. The brown sugar boba had that nice caramel-esque flavor, but it was definitely milk forward. Either way the whole meal left me feeling satisfied and I will definitely be back for another visit. Ty for reading

Was in the area looking for ramen and decided on Yaraku since they have good reviews. After trying them, I'd say that the reviews are accurate. We ordered the yaraku house special ramen and the shoyu ramen. The flavors in both were very good. The black garlic oil in the house special made the broth hearty and satisfying, everything a great ramen should be. The broth in both were also not too salty, which is something I find a lot of ramen places tend to do. One thing I'd say can be improved is the pork could be a bit fattier as it was a bit too lean for my taste. The restaurant itself was clean and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Overall, very glad we decided to try this place!

Small menu but best ramen around. The Gyoza is our favorite. I ALWAYS bundle up when I come here. It's usually freezing inside, Anytime of year.

I've been wanting ramen so we decided to get ramen with the family for my birthday. The place my sister recommended was closed so we opted for the next available option that was close in distance with a nicer rating... We ordered 5 different ramen, and two appetizers: the fried chicken and the fried calamari. They were all unfortunately disappointing. Ramen broth is one of the most important thing to a ramen but the broths we got were less than mediocre. They were more on the bland side. When I ordered the fried chicken appetizer, I thought I would be getting the juicy karaage that is available at most Japanese restaurants if not all. But what I got were dry chicken nuggets that looked like they came out of a costco bag. The fried calamari was tiny and underwhelming. Even my sister who normally likes everything said her meal was mediocre at best. Maybe we have truly been spoiled by the ramen we get from Manhattan and this really wasn't up to par. The only reason my review provides 2 stars is because the staff seemed to be really nice and their eggs were cooked really nicely. I don't quite understand how their average rating was able to be 4.5...perhaps their usual chef just so happened to be out on this day? I am quite sad that this was the meal I opted for on my birthday...I unfortunately would not come back again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone else.

    Spicy Miso Ramen

Came here on a rainy day. The ramen here is pretty good. We both got the spicy miso ramen - one with rice noodles and the other with an extra serving of protein. The broth was flavorful but we felt it could've been spicier. Some of the pork was slightly over cooked for my taste but overall it's a great place to get some hot ramen. They had a seasoning on the table ( can't recollect the name) def sprinkle that on if you're looking for some extra spice like me. Great spot with a casual ambiance. Will definitely visit again.

Had the Chashu Buns pork was pretty good could have been heated more thoroughly. The restaurant was very clean and relatively freshly built. Service was perfect couldn't have asked for anything more from them. The house ramen was all right i expected more flavor from the broth and maybe a little more noodles but. I'd be willing to give them a second chance and explore the menu more.

When I am in Edison, I look forward to this mom&pop restaurant. It makes one of the better vegetarian ramens out there especially if you ask for it spicy with wavy noodles. The service is prompt, and the 12 dollar price for the vegetarian bowl beats its competitors in the area by around 3 dollars and no less tasty than the 20 dollar bowls I've had in NYC. It's also less salty than any of the popular vegan bowls from Jinya, a popular now national chain from Seattle. I don't know if their thin white noodles are vegan since they're not promoted as such.

R7 Tan Tan Ramen- spicy ground pork, kikurage mushrooms, menma (fermented bamboo shoots), scallions, egg. So good!

Solid ramen, boba tea, and service. My little fam of 4 were seated right away mid-afternoon on a weekday. The menu was quite clear with plenty of appetizers, rice bowls, and ramen (you can choose wavy or straight noodles), boba, and dessert. We're not the best with chopsticks and we found that wavy noodles are easier to pick up. My hubs enjoyed his R1 Yaraku House Ramen (pork broth noodles, pork belly chashu, kikurage mushrooms, menma, scallions, black garlic oil, and a soft boiled egg) while I devoured my R7 Tan Tan Ramen which had most of the same ingredients except for spicy ground pork and sesame paste. My kids (ages 5 and 7) each loved their own R5 Miso Ramen but neither finished their bowls so we took some home. It was still delicious the next day. To drink, I ordered a super tasty Matcha Boba Tea with no ice and no sugar. Their broth and boba are so good!!! NOTES/TIPS: **You can order for eat-in/take out via yelp and Beyond Menu (https://www.beyondmenu.com/53575/edison/yaraku-ramen-edison-08817.aspx?utm_source=satellite&utm_medium=home_order) **Easy parking in a private lot shared with a plaza. **Wheelchair-accessible. There's no shortage of great Asian food in NJ, but this place was a surprise even in the area! Located in Edison along with all other Asian things in central Jersey, Yaraku Ramen is a must try if you like ramen. Having traveled to Japan and tried Japanese owned restaurants in Hawaii, I was craving a delicious tonkotsu ramen with char-siu. I came here with my parents, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! I got the black garlic ramen, and others in my party got the veggie ramen and truffle ramen. They were ALL delicious. The toppings were fresh, and they really complimented the ramen well. The char-siu was well made. I also got the takoyaki, which reminded me of the ones I had in the Kyoto fish market. Yaraku Ramen is a must try if you're in central Jersey! Even better than the ramen place in Mitsuwa, and it's a lot less driving!

We opted for the two person deal. 3 apps and 2 mains for $55 - a great deal. For apps we shared the beef gyoza, chicken karaage and takoyaki. The gyoza was ok; the karaage was pretty good and the takoyaki was standard, but good. I had the tonkotsu and my husband had the spicy miso tonkotsu and we both added the ajitama (marinated egg). Both ramens were nice and hot but flavors were underwhelming. The pork itself was good. The noodles were just ok. The tonkotsu had heavy garlic flavor but I was expecting a heartier broth with rich pork flavored like I'm used to. The spicy miso tonkotsu had a kick but also could have been richer. We had a party of 6 and still had to wait about 25 minutes for a table as the place is pretty small. Right after we sat down we accidentally spilled a glass of water and it took so much effort to flag down a waiter to get some napkins. They didn't even help us clean it up, we could barely mop up what was on spilled on the table because they gave us very little napkins. Then when we asked for more napkins when the food came out the waitress counted it out and gave us exactly 6, one for each person. As for the food, a big disappointment. The tuna was not the bright pink color it normally is and instead had a dark red/purple hue to it, a little concerning. The yellowtail and squid were super chewy. The mackeral was very fishy, which I understand mackeral is on the fishy side for raw fish but I've had it in Japan where is was the exact opposite. Honestly, the only fresh tasting fish was the salmon. The food was slow to come out even though the wait staff was very attentive with grabbing our menu orders. Most likely will not be returning.

Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.

I recently visited Rakkii Ramen and ordered two tonkotsu ramen--one with extra chashu (an…read moreadditional $4.00) and one with extra bamboo. My total came to $39.98. Like many people today, I'm mindful of what I spend dining out, so I expect good value for the price. Since I live in South Jersey, I brought the food home to eat later. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ramen included four slices of chashu (pork belly), but three of those slices were entirely fat with no meat. I understand that pork belly naturally contains fat--that's part of what makes it flavorful--but receiving pieces that were essentially all fat made the dish unpleasant and felt like poor quality control. I called the restaurant to share my concern, but the response was underwhelming. I was simply told the manager would be informed. When I asked if there was anything further that could be done, I received no real resolution--just a basic explanation of what pork belly is. As someone who understands the product, that explanation missed the point. The issue wasn't what chashu is--it was the quality of what was served. Everything else about the meal was fine, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service matters just as much as the food. A simple effort to address the issue or offer a solution would have made a big difference. As a former business owner, I've always believed customer satisfaction should be a top priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and for that reason, I won't be returning.

We ordered the Pickled Pepper Frog with Chicken, Stir Fry Chicken Giblets and Throat and Stew Tofu with Crab Roe. The overall vibe? Pure happiness. The Food Breakdown: Pickled Pepper Frog with Chicken An absolute genius pairing! The bullfrog and chicken are incredibly tender with zero gamey taste. Creatively, it's a 10/10. My only tiny critique is that it leans a bit salty, but it's perfect when paired with white rice. The more you eat, the more addictive it gets! Stew Tofu with Crab Roe You have to get a scoop of this. The golden crab roe sauce perfectly coats the silken tofu. It's savory, sweet, and velvety, which beautifully cuts through the heat of the other spicy dishes. I could honestly down three bowls of rice just mixing it with this sauce. Plus, the portion size is huge and super affordable.

Gizzard and spicy fish dishes were good. In fact the spicy fish was better than most other places.. the sauce they used was really flavorful. Not too spicy Dishes a little on the smaller side.
