This place was perfect for a rainy day! Everything was delicious! The environment was clean, the staff were nice and welcoming! Our food came out quickly and we even got a goodbye on our way out!! Definitely recommend!
I love the decoration of this place. The skewers were so good. Scallop & squid were my favorites. The seaweed salad was plentiful and we couldn't even finish it. Happy to find this Izakaya place in Edison.
I was craving for a good ramen which could be perfect for a cold night ,but I was disappointed. I had the black garlic ramen. The noodles were cooked aldente,the way I like it. It's got a generous portion of charsiu that's very tender and flavorful. Bamboo is smelly, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger ,fish cake was starchy and too soft , scallion,,black garlic oil, pork soup base is sub par, not umami and was not boiling hot. Seasoned egg is not seasoned, it tastes like regular boiled egg. It was served on a melamine bowl . The servers were wearing sweat pants and sweat hoodie which is turn off. I won't be returning here . I can see the mess behind the cashier from where I was seating. ...

I love the anime mural on the walls and the large portion of ramen I ordered Ambiance - detailed anime art on the wall- Naruto, demon slayer! - plenty of natural light Service - waiters were friendly - food came out quickly Food - tonkatsu ramen- large portion, the char siu was a bit overcooked and charred for my liking, broth was delicious but could have more pork flavor, noodles were perfectly chewy This ramen spot was pretty good and a great quick lunch spot!
Came to check out Rayaki for the first time on a Saturday evening. For appetizers we started with the fried sticky rice cakes and gyoza. The fried sticky rice cakes were my personal favorite out of the two. I really love the texture of the rice cakes and the honey and spicy mayo sauce was delicious. I honestly could have eaten that whole plate by myself. As for the gyoza it was okay. I'm honestly not a huge fan of dumplings. So I would personally skip them and order a different appetizer if I were to return. As for my main entree I went with the Black Garlic Ramen. This ramen has Cha Shu (Marinated Pork), bamboo, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, fish cake, scallions, black garlic oil, pork soup base, seasoned egg. It wasn't too bad and it was pretty filling but I think the next time I may try the pork belly over rice. It wasn't too busy around the time I went which was around 5pm. The food also came out pretty fast so there wasn't a long wait.
Lovely ramen place in Edison NJ. This is a new spot which is quite popular. The loaded Rayaki fries are amazing and quite a few tables ordered this while we were there. The ramen is excellent as the broth was not overly salty like other places. This place is known for their anime painted walls which is amazing artistry. Love how you just check off what you want on a piece of paper and then hand it to the waitress. Definitely makes ordering a breeze.

We started with the Rayaki Fries, which were crispy and tasty, although we noticed there wasn't as much cheese and topping as usual -usually, they load it up more. Still, they were delicious. The Takoyaki was flavorful and hit the spot. The Eggplant Miso Skewers were a highlight - the flavor was mouthwatering, and they were definitely a standout item. The Fishcake Skewer was good, but nothing particularly special; it was more of a curiosity to see what it would taste like. For something a bit more unique, we tried the Kani Bao Dun, which had a generous amount of kani (crab), and I loved that. I'd actually love to see them make a Kani Onigiri, that would be amazing! The portions for the Pork Belly Over Rice and Pork Cutlet Curry were huge and definitely worth the price. The Pork Belly Over Rice was flavorful, but it had a bit too much sauce, and the broccoli could've used a little more seasoning. The Pork Cutlet Curry was tasty, though it was a bit on the dry and tough side. For drinks, I tried the Brown Sugar Milk, which was very sweet. Once I stirred the syrup at the bottom, it became more manageable, but it was still too sugary for my taste. I had originally wanted the Boba Milk Tea, but they had run out, so I opted for the brown sugar milk instead. I probably wouldn't get it again, but it was worth a try. One thing that stood out was how quickly the staff brought out our food, but after that, they seemed to stop checking in on us. They only came back when we requested the check, which felt a bit rushed compared to the rest of the service. Overall, Rayaki Ramen is a great place to visit, with a welcoming atmosphere, fun anime nostalgia, and a wide-ranging menu. There are a few small improvements that could be made, but overall, it's definitely worth trying!
I've seen videos about this chain and wanted to give it a try. For Friday lunch time rush, it was pretty quiet. The vibe was not inviting and the workers seemed to just keep to themselves and didn't greet us right away to talk about the process. Ordered pork katsu, black garlic ramen, and fried squid. They were all pretty mediocre and nothing to go back for. I don't even want to use my texting efforts on how my entire experience was. Can't remember if they served alcohol, but would prefer doing here with friends and enjoying some apps and drinks. That's probably the vibe needed to make this place a hub... that's my recommendation :]
All I'm saiyan is that Rayaki is super! Come for the Instagram famous murals on all four walls of your favorite anime characters, but stay for the fantastic food. There is a wide assortment of ramen to try, and I appreciated there were so many seafood and vegetarian options (really hard to eat ramen when most places only have pork broth). I was also surprised to learn a little about Japanese cooking techniques. This restaurant employs "robatayaki", which involves cooking over coals. Sure enough, the shrimp in my ramen were charred and smoky. This is an authentic dining experience I've never had at any other Japanese restaurant in the US! Takoyaki was also delicious, and I liked the sauce and ability to wrap it up with lettuce for a fresh contrast to the fried flavor. The service was very quick. Felt like we got our food almost immediately after ordering. All in all, a must try ramen spot in NJ. The walls might be the thing that draw you in, but even if the walls were bare, there would be a lot to be impressed by.

This restaurant is located at the end of a strip mall. Staff was polite and attentive. My food came out quickly. The anime decor is eye catching. I ate the Chicken Katsu Ramen. It was mediocre. I finished the whole thing, and I thought it was a reasonable amount of food for the $15 price. The flavor was lackluster, mostly it just tasted like salty broth with some pieces of grated fresh ginger in it. The chicken was not flavorful at all, and I did not finish all the pieces of chicken. The $.99 grocery store Ramen that I prepare at home in my microwave tastes just as good. I am not interested in coming back to eat here.
I went here recently for a birthday party. The space is a bit small. The decor and paintings on the walls were exciting especially for anime fans. Initially this is why we had eaten here. We were greeted at the door and were told we can sit wherever we wanted to. It took over 30 minutes for someone to come and take their drink order. They did not seem to be short staffed. One of our friends in the party decided to go by the register to get someone to take our drink order. It took another 30 minutes to get our drink order and it came sporadically. We did not order any alcohol or any drink that would take a lot of time. We had ordered mostly sodas and waters. We had ordered some appetizers. This had taken more than 45 minutes to get. The pork fries appetizer was absolutely tasty and amazing. The other appetizers that we had ordered were mediocre. We had put in our orders for entrees. The entrees were exactly about an hour to get our entrees that we thought they had forgotten about us. When the entrees arrived they had gotten a lot of our orders confused and had to go back to the kitchen a handful of times. The food tasted burnt and it was dreadful to continue to eat. The chicken was way overcooked and you could not bite through it. Most of my part had gotten the ramen and I got the chicken katsu. Perhaps it was just an off day for this restaurant given the reviews but the service really killed the experience.
I ordered the spicy miso ramen, kani salad, scallop, steak, shrimp, broccoli and asparagus skewer. Omg soooo good!! Hit the spot! I thought the steak skewer was the best - love the marinade/sauce on it. The veggies were also very flavorful and was not expecting the asparagus to be one long spear lol. The scallops were good but small, shrimp small and ok. The ramen I inhaled - I didn't even take a pic! lol. The noodles are so delicious - really feel like it might be top ramen spot around this area. I want to try the black garlic. The kani salad was just ok - I liked that it wasn't swimming in mayo and they gave a large portion - just on salty side. Would maybe skip this. Overall love the food - want to check out the artwork in the place itself! Also I learned the name is a mix of ramen and yakitori (skewer) just in case you were wondering! :)
We found the cutest Ramen spot ever. It's an Anime theme with amazing mural art. We got the Spicy Miso Ramen (pictured) Black Garlic Ramen, spicy edamame, and Takoyaki. Food was delicious!!! Definitely returning

After hearing my friends talk about Rayaki long enough, I decided to stop by after spending the day nearby at Albatross (Edison). It was a Saturday night and it was fairly empty which was great since we got a seat quick! I had to start with a guava ice tea; anything guava I am ordering. I also got the shrimp bao buns that were the perfect combination of crispy and fluffy. The vegetable ramen with a side of shrimp tempura was my order and I ate every single bite. Not only is the food good, the restaurant is also decked out in anime which is cool. Parking is free as there's a lot in front. Would definitely come back and try more menu items! read more

Delicious huge menu of ramen, skewers, bao, plus more. We arrived as a big group and every starter including something as simple as the Edamame was so good! My friend's Tonkatsu Ramen and my daughter's Miso Ramen had them slurping up goodness, while I devoured a medley of grilled skewered delights. While every stick was great, I super recommend their Bacon-Wrapped Quail Eggs. There was so much goodness that we had to take some leftovers home. The service was fin-tastic and the anime and manga murals set a magical fun vibe. Been awhile since we been here, looks like it's under new management. Place looks the same not much just changed from the inside and outside just new management and cook. Black garlic Ramen - broth was very watery had to take teaspoonfuls to try to figure out what the flavor was, and the meat was not very tender Steak Ramen - same deal, bro very bland and watery and the steak was chewy with no flavor Fried squid - my son said it was OK, but it was a little rubbery and undercooked for my taste Service was slow, not very friendly and it's a shame this used to be one of our go to places for Ramen and appetizers. Should've been assigned when we went there during lunchtime on a Saturday and the place was empty... Yaraku ramen just up the street next to Aldi is pretty much the best place now that we go to in the area. read more

Craving ramen and wanting to try a new place, my girlfriend suggested Rayaki since I had never been there before. When we arrived, it wasn't very busy, and I immediately noticed the interior, which was decorated with anime characters painted on the walls. Which nice touch that matched the ramen theme. After looking at the menu, we decided to order the miso ramen and the steak ramen. I opted to swap the pork broth for beef broth in my steak ramen for an additional charge. The food arrived fairly quickly after we placed our order. I enjoyed my steak ramen since it's a unique offering that I haven't seen at other ramen spots. I added chili oil to it for an extra kick of spice, which made it better. However, my girlfriend didn't enjoy her miso ramen as much, saying it was a bit bland for her taste. While the experience was decent overall, this felt more like a spot to try once rather than a go-to ramen place. If you're into ramen with a fun anime-inspired atmosphere, it might be worth checking out at least once. read more

Save your money.... The pictures online can certainly lure you in but when you get there the place is not very clean. The merchandise case was filthy. The table sauce containers looked old and not cleaned ever. I placed an online order for pickup. Ordered the Black Garlic Ramen and Fried EBI. The Pork in the Ramen was BBQ'd, overcooked and not fresh. The Bambo was slimy and the egg was days old . The Fried EBI was disgraceful! The shrimp was old and it looked as if they were just repurposing already cooked shrimp by frying it in a sloppy bread coating that breaks apart in crumbles the moment you bite into it. There are better places in this area that serve quality dishes with fresh ingredients. Don't waste your money here. read more

First time at this restaurant mainly came because my child likes anime. The restaurant very clean, staff very attentive and the decor is various anime characters and songs from anime shows really compliments the aesthetic. We had the Takoyaki as an appetizer. My first experience with octopus. It was good but I didn't like the texture. The steak ramen was excellent and great portion. My child had the chicken katsu and ate it all up immediately. Rayaki is a dope restaurant with anime painted all over the ways. anime soundtracks playing in the background and even anime playing on the TV. I like their menu, it's a menu you add write how many items you want of each other. I really enjoyed their skewers! very tasty. The ramen though was a bit disappointing. The broth and meat was not as flavorful as i would like. I would come back to try the rice platters, appetizers, and drinks but not sure if i would come just for ramen read more

I loved the decor of the place. It is a smaller place but has plenty of seating. We came on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded. We ordered the miso ramen, black garlic ramen, skewers, and cha siu buns. The skewers were really good- great flavor! The cha siu in the buns were pretty tough and hard to chew. The black garlic ramen was really good though. We also got takoyaki which was probably the best thing we had. It has a really tasty sauce and was soft and filled with octopus! The servers are really nice and attentive. You just select the food you want on the paper and they take it as your order! read more

Made the almost two hour drive just to try this place and it did not disappoint. Food: 5/5 I tried the black garlic ramen and it was delicious. The egg could have been a bit more undercooked but that's just my preference. The honey rice cake appetizer was flavorful, perfect crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The crispy soft shell crab bao buns were phenomenal. Full of flavor and crab was fresh. Signature fries. Their fries were delicious as well. Well seasoned. Cooked well. Service: 5/5 The staff was attentive. Granted there were only two other groups eating at the time we went but they came around to see if anything else was needed. Ambiance: 5/5 The place features hand painted scenes from various anime. One of the alluring things about the place. read more

I came back here last night and everything is still about the same. The walls are beautifully decorated and the wait staff is super friendly and quick with their service. We got the rayaki fries again - still the best thing there! We also ordered a few different skewers to share. They were a lot smaller than I had expected but they tasted pretty good. I did also try the chashu pork baos and would recommend those! The ramen here is honestly just okay. I got the tonkotsu ramen and did enjoy the flavor of the broth but I felt like the pork was pretty dry and didn't really tie the whole dish in together. My friends felt the same way about their ramen as well. Overall, I do think they have a lot of cool options to try as it isn't your typical ramen place. read more

I stoped by here to pick up a takeout dinner on my way home from EWR. I was going to Joon's Hwu Ru, somehow I ended up on this side of plaza with GPS instruction. They have lots of Ramen options, but I prefer not to carry the soup for one-hour drive home. I ordered Softs Shell Crab Bao and Pork Belly over Rice. The Soft Shell Crab was tasty but the bun contained too much sauce. The pork belly had way too much fat and was not really enjoyable. The sides of marinated egg with broccoli and yellow daikon slices were nothing special. Will have to the ramen at their Cherry Hill store next time. I do enjoy the large wall paintings in the store with bunch of Japanese's animate characters. read more

The first thing you notice when you walk in here is the decorated walls with various anime drawings and paintings covering floor-to-ceiling. If you are a fan of anime you owe it to yourself to check this place out at least once. The first time we visited my wife and I had no clue about the internal decor and were pleasantly surprised by the art on the walls it had a really cool vibe that we were happy we got to experience. The food here was pretty good We split some rice cakes as well as some pork buns which is a staple when we get ramen The ramen was also very good and I have no complaints about it a big plus is that they have their own parking lot and you don't have to drive around as you may at some other spots in New Brunswick. All in all this place will definitely be in our rotation of ramen stops and if you're into ramen as much as my wife is in te ramen then you will likely frequent this place once you visit it. read more

I have been looking for a while for a good Ramen spot. So look no further. It's a small cute intimate Ramen shop that has murals of anime characters on their wall. Which is so fitting. Staff was very quick and friendly. we ordered steak barbecue skewers, gyoza, spicy miso Ramen and black garlic Ramen. The food was so good and so tasty. I will definitely be returning to this spot. read more

The food is ok. The soft shell crab buns weren't amazing. The only dish that somewhat stood out for me were the fries. The service was probably the most disappointing. The staff was always behind the register. We had to physically go call for them or raise our hands and call out to them. The food comes out fast but the service is slow when you need them. Rayaki is a trendy ramen place with it's notable anime wall artistry. What makes them unique is its extensive menu beyond ramen itself. While it's not a traditional Japanese ramen restaurant (case in point: steak ramen, salmon ramen), it's a good place for people who want options. Pros: +Extensive drinks menu - largest I've seen for a ramen place. Including bubble tea! +Extensive food options-- appetizer, buns, rice plates, skewers in addition to a whopping 14 options for ramen +No ramen is more than $15 and this price includes 1 full egg. Egg traditionally is always an add on item. Chashu are sliced thick. They are not skimping with portions. +Family friendly, good place to hang out with friends and groups, decent # of seating space. Cons: -Too much broth per bowl. While it has flavor, it was not rich enough to be memorable. It's ok. -Spicy miso ramen-- was lacking the real salty miso taste. Was hoping to see a scoop of real miso but alas no. Rec: +Black garlic ramen-tonkotsu soup base with garlic oil. Could definitely taste the garlic, would recommend over the spicy miso. I feel Rayaki is a case of trying your hardest to make the masses happy, but they would probably be better off perfecting and serving fewer dishes. read more
